Undead Mage from a Cell
Chapter 53 - 51: Power of the Deceit Mirror
CHAPTER 53: CHAPTER 51: POWER OF THE DECEIT MIRROR
"Luna, lead that guy toward the small building, I’ll try to handle the rest."
As Gu Xi spoke, he began to run towards the small building, while the Skeleton Soldiers, without anyone to command them, continued to hack at the monstrous deer.
Their attacks were trivial to the monstrous deer, unable to harm its core.
Gu Xi arrived near the small building and quickly took out the "Praying Mysterious Mirror."
Gu Xi knew this item could summon an eerie entity below Level 5, but he didn’t know if it could be controlled once summoned.
Therefore, Gu Xi had never thought of using the "Praying Mysterious Mirror" before.
But now the situation was different; the strength of this monstrous deer might be above Level 5, and it had thick skin and ample life force.
With Gu Xi’s current army strength, there was no way to inflict significant damage on it.
Only an eerie entity around Level 5 could potentially harm this monstrous deer.
Taking out the "Praying Mysterious Mirror," Gu Xi aimed and heavily threw it at the monstrous deer’s head.
His throwing skills were still decent, and with this throw, the "Praying Mysterious Mirror" smashed against the monster deer’s face.
A cracking sound followed.
The "Praying Mysterious Mirror" shattered, and an arm like crystal stretched out from the shards of the mirror.
Following the arm was a man pieced together entirely of crystal.
Upon appearing, he stood directly atop the monstrous deer, turned his head 180 degrees to face Gu Xi, and made a grimace at him.
With just this action, Gu Xi could sense the killing intent the eerie entity had towards him; it seemed this plan had gone awry once again.
Unexpectedly, the monstrous deer sensed something on its face and slammed its head upwards heavily.
The eerie man who was provoking Gu Xi was smashed to the ground instantly, then the monstrous deer stomped on him, nearly crushing him to pieces.
This enraged the eerie man.
Initially targeting Gu Xi, now he couldn’t care less about him; his focus shifted directly to the monstrous deer.
This eerie man, summoned by Gu Xi, had the ability to turn everything he touched into crystal.
He would then shatter the enemy; such a method could handle even a Giant Dragon.
Of course, he had a weakness: his fragile body, which would shatter with a single hit.
And to turn enemies into crystal, he had to make direct contact, which was why he was only Level 5; otherwise, with such a bizarre ability, he would have long surpassed Level 10.
After shifting targets, the eerie man immediately engaged the monstrous deer. When the deer tried to stomp him again, the eerie man grabbed the deer’s leg, instantly turning its left foreleg into crystal with his ability.
As the monstrous deer continued plodding downward, its left foreleg was shattered into pieces.
Witnessing this, Gu Xi was taken aback; he hadn’t expected the eerie man to achieve such results.
It seemed this eerie man would also become a formidable enemy for Gu Xi in the future.
The monstrous deer, losing its left foreleg, lost balance and crashed to the ground on the spot.
However, the formidable deer’s instinctive leftward bite snatched the eerie man into its mouth.
Although the deer had a deer’s appearance, its mouth was clearly that of a carnivorous animal.
With one bite, the eerie man, despite having gained the upper hand moments ago, was caught off guard and trapped in the deer’s mouth.
The eerie man’s reaction was quick; caught in its jaws, he decisively propped a hand against the monster deer’s teeth, unleashing his ability to turn half of its teeth into crystal.
But the monstrous deer, having locked onto the eerie man, refused to give him a chance to escape, and with a forceful bite, snapped the eerie man in half.
Gu Xi’s ace move, barely utilized, was already rendered useless.
Yet, the eerie man’s death was not in vain; in his demise, he managed to turn a third of the deer’s head into crystal.
This gave Gu Xi a prime opportunity before his death.
Seizing this moment, Luna unleashed a Banshee Wail.
Gu Xi also saw the opportunity, pointing at the eerie man’s corpse to execute a Corpse Burst.
The Banshee Wail, a sonic attack powerful against crystals, shattered a third of the deer’s head with Luna’s shout.
This finally infuriated the monstrous deer, which had been silent until now, roaring loudly.
But just as its mouth opened in a roar, Gu Xi’s Corpse Burst detonated, exploding the eerie man’s body within the deer’s mouth, blowing its mouth apart.
The monstrous deer, ignoring everything else, charged at Gu Xi on three legs.
Seeing the attack fail to kill the monstrous deer, Gu Xi felt a bit unnerved.
However, he kept his eyes fixed on the deer. As it ran over the dead giant snake’s body, Gu Xi struck again.
"Corpse Burst!"
Boom!
The life force of the giant snake was substantial, and with the monstrous apparatus of a deer body dragging from losing its left foreleg, the giant snake’s explosion blew the monstrous deer upwards with a powerful impact.
Although the monstrous deer didn’t fly very high, it crashed heavily into the small building, not completely destroyed, behind it.
The monstrous deer slammed into it like a bowling ball into pins, flattening the remaining structure.
"Freeze it!"
Seeing Luna about to unleash another Banshee Wail, Gu Xi immediately made a decision.
The Banshee Wail was somewhat lacking in power, unable to deliver another blow to the monstrous deer, so Gu Xi had to consider the possibility of it getting back up.
Meanwhile, Gu Xi searched for corpses in the area to use as materials for another Corpse Burst; Bone Spike wasn’t an option, as its power couldn’t kill the monstrous deer.
Corpse Burst might still work; possibly, the two Twisted Mage corpses could be useful.
With this in mind, Gu Xi pointed at the elderly Twisted Mage’s body and said,
"Charge with this thing inside."
Hardly had Gu Xi’s words fallen, the monstrous deer, having knocked down the small building, stood up again.
It looked quite pitiful now, with at least half of its antlers broken, leaving only a third of its head intact.
Furthermore, the previous explosion erupted around its abdomen, tearing a huge wound from which its organs spilled out.
"Charge up, aim for its belly!"
