CHAPTER 24: CHAPTER 24: IVY AND RACHEL GO ONLINE, RACHEL APOLOGIZES

Ivy Summers pointed to the surveillance footage.

Rachel Shaw felt a chill run through her, instantly cooling down.

The surveillance couldn’t be checked; she had been too obvious just now, as she was the one planning to splash water on Ivy first.

Checking the footage would clearly show she was the one at fault first, wouldn’t it?

Damien Lancaster glanced at the mischievous woman in his arms, foxy as she was. He knew she was putting on an act, yet he was willing to accompany her through this play.

"Alright, let’s check the footage."

"No!" Rachel Shaw exclaimed anxiously.

Everyone looked at her, and Rachel Shaw gritted her teeth fiercely, "It’s just... just this little thing, no need to check the surveillance, right, Damien? I’m fine now."

"A minor thing?" Ivy Summers blinked innocently, "Is it a minor thing to be falsely accused? Doesn’t Miss Shaw need to apologize to me?"

"Apologize to you?" Rachel Shaw’s voice rose.

"What else?"

"Don’t count on it."

"Fine, then let’s check the footage."

Ivy Summers raised her eyebrows slightly, fearlessly.

"...Sorry!"

Ivy Summers deliberately put her hand to her ear, "I can’t hear you."

Rachel Shaw gritted her teeth fiercely, "I! Apologize! It’s my fault for wronging you!"

With those words, it seemed that Rachel Shaw used up all her strength.

Only then was Ivy Summers satisfied, "It’s okay, just be careful next time."

Rachel Shaw gritted her teeth in hatred.

Dead woman, wretched woman, just you wait.

Ivy Summers smiled, leaving Damien Lancaster’s arms and walking out of the kitchen.

Damien Lancaster glanced at the kettle and Rachel Shaw’s soaked clothes...

Understanding everything, but he said nothing, and he left.

After dinner, Ivy Summers was about to leave.

Sophie raised her chubby little hand, waving reluctantly, "Goodbye, Auntie."

Ivy Summers beamed a smile, "Goodbye, Sophie."

Damien Lancaster was standing in front of the floor-to-ceiling window on the phone. Seeing their interaction, he squinted his eyes slightly.

He was eager to know if there was really something between Ivy Summers and the child, or if, as before, Ivy’s acting was just too good.

After Ivy Summers left, Sophie nestled on the sofa, lazily yawning.

Sophie had a habit of early to bed and early to rise, and she was already feeling sleepy.

Sophie walked over to tug at Damien Lancaster’s sleeve.

"Uncle, Sophie is sleepy."

Damien Lancaster looked at the little girl rubbing her eyes and signaled to a nearby servant, "Take her to bed."

The old house had a children’s room, prepared for a child of the past, but it had always remained empty.

Ma Lowell came to take Sophie to her room.

Sophie liked to be clean and always took a bath before sleeping.

Ma Lowell prepared her clothes and took Sophie to the bathroom.

In the bathroom, Sophie sat in the bubble-filled tub, letting Ma Lowell wash her fragrantly, and she would cooperate by raising her little neck.

When Seraphina Kennedy heard that Damien Lancaster had put Sophie in the children’s room, she stormed in angrily; this was meant for her grandchildren, so why should this little girl be staying there?

Seeing Seraphina Kennedy outside, Sophie chirped at her, "Grandma!"

That call of "Grandma" halted Seraphina Kennedy in her tracks.

Sophie looked at her with those big, blinking eyes, full of sincerity.

Seraphina Kennedy instinctively wanted to respond to that "Grandma".

But she restrained herself.

This wasn’t her granddaughter after all.

Only her grandson and granddaughter could call her grandma.

This little girl was good at bewitching people, and she couldn’t let herself be enchanted by her.

Seraphina Kennedy stared at her for a few seconds, choosing not to pay her any mind, but she also didn’t say anything further.

Oh well, let her stay in this room, just for one night; it’s not a big deal.

Seraphina Kennedy was about to leave when she noticed a shallow crescent-shaped birthmark on Sophie’s shoulder.

She remembered seeing that birthmark somewhere before.

Seraphina Kennedy took a few steps closer to look carefully.

If she wasn’t mistaken, Ivy Summers also seemed to have such a birthmark.

This little thing had such a connection with Ivy Summers that even their birthmarks were similar.

Seraphina Kennedy walked out.

Damien Lancaster’s voice was low, "Mom."

Seeing Damien Lancaster, Seraphina Kennedy asked, "Damien, do you remember if Ivy Summers has a birthmark on her shoulder?"

"Birthmark? What kind of birthmark?"

Damien Lancaster furrowed his brows.

He seldom had intimate moments with Ivy Summers, and naturally wouldn’t have paid attention to her body. He really didn’t know if she had any birthmarks.

Seraphina Kennedy smirked slightly.

Her son was clueless about whether his wife of eight years had a birthmark; Seraphina Kennedy was speechlessly bewildered.

This was truly inattentive...

It seemed deserved that Ivy Summers left him!

"Ivy Summers seemed to have a crescent-shaped birthmark, and that little girl has one too. I remember Ivy saying that her mother also had a birthmark like that, even pink, quite unique."

Damien Lancaster’s eyes tightened, "Are you saying they have a common birthmark?"

After seven or eight years, Seraphina Kennedy couldn’t be entirely sure, "Seems like it, not certain. Why, what’s the matter?"

Damien Lancaster’s expression suddenly changed.

Appearing simultaneously in several locations, that call of ’Mama’, the identical birthmark...

Not conducting a DNA test would be a disservice to these glaring doubts.

Damien promptly turned and left, with Julian Jacobs still downstairs, Damien instructed, "Contact a testing agency immediately, and have some doctors come over to collect DNA samples."

Julian Jacobs, still on the call, asked, "Sir, are you planning to do a DNA test?"

"Yes."

Julian Jacobs showed a puzzled expression, "With... whom?"

"Sophie."

"Yes, but sir, there’s a situation at the company requiring your direct intervention."

Damien Lancaster’s dark eyebrows moved slightly, "What is it?"
