CHAPTER 46: CHAPTER 46: DAMIEN LANCASTER COMES CLEAN TO IVY SUMMERS

Ella Morgan took a breath and glanced toward the restroom, "No one. I only invited you and Miss Summers today, so how could there be anyone else?"

"Then why is there noise?"

Damien Lancaster’s dark eyes were filled with suspicion. He stood up and was about to walk to the restroom.

"Wait a minute."

Ella Morgan stood up, exchanged a tense glance with Ivy Summers, and quickly walked forward, "Mr. Lancaster, you are my guest today. Let the waiter check on these trivial matters."

Ivy Summers immediately signaled the waiter next to her, who then went into the restroom.

Shortly after, the waiter came back out and said, "It’s the rack that fell over. Sorry for disturbing you all, I’ll clean it up right away."

Damien Lancaster glanced at the rack in the waiter’s hand, and the suspicion on his face faded away.

"Mr. Lancaster, please sit down and eat." Ella Morgan gestured invitingly for him to sit.

Damien Lancaster nodded slightly, sat down, picked up the glass of water on the table, and took a sip.

His gaze fell on Ivy Summers, and he asked, "Did you look for me this morning?"

"Yes."

"What is it?"

Ivy Summers looked at Sophie, who was eating with her cheeks puffed, and also thought about... the two little ones hiding pitifully under the table.

It wasn’t a convenient time to discuss divorce.

"Let’s eat first. We’ll talk later."

"Uncle, hurry and eat. Sophie has already tried it for you, and it’s really delicious," Sophie said to Damien Lancaster.

Damien Lancaster raised an eyebrow, slightly distracted by Sophie’s words, and didn’t ask Ivy Summers further.

They ordered a few more dishes, which soon arrived.

Ivy Summers picked up her chopsticks, but thinking about the two little ones under the table, her nerves were tightly wound, and even the most delicious food tasted like wax in her mouth.

Under the table, the two little ones sat cross-legged, resting their little chins on their hands. The smell of the food made their mouths water.

So fragrant, so fragrant.

Leo smacked his lips, rubbed his belly, and was happily eating when Damien Lancaster’s entrance interrupted him. He was still craving more.

Leo was puffed up angrily, like a little pufferfish.

Wasn’t bad Daddy supposedly not coming?

Why did he suddenly launch a surprise attack?

Leo placed his hands on his hips, looked at the legs wrapped in Damien Lancaster’s black suit pants, and swung his little fists in the air.

Hmph.

Angry, angry!

The next second, without controlling his strength, his little fist really hit Damien Lancaster’s leg.

Leo was so startled that his eyes widened, and he quickly withdrew his hand. Watching this, Nathan hurriedly pulled him back.

Leo nervously looked at Nathan. Nathan’s little face was tightly set, serious and calm as he held Leo close.

Eating, Damien Lancaster felt something hit his leg. He looked up at a nervously glancing Ivy Summers, and asked, "Why are you kicking me?"

Ivy Summers was tense and, suddenly being questioned, retorted without hesitation, "Who kicked..." Her words broke off as she realized something was wrong, her lips pulling tight as her bluster weakened instantly.

"Yes, I kicked you, but I didn’t... do it on purpose, sorry..."

Damien Lancaster withdrew his gaze, saying nothing more.

Ivy Summers breathed a sigh of relief.

She bit her chopsticks, stealing glances at Damien Lancaster out of the corner of her eye. The man ate gracefully and leisurely.

The atmosphere in the private room was awkward, with only Damien Lancaster and carefree Sophie eating. Ivy Summers and Ella Morgan had lost their appetites.

Time passed quietly, and Damien Lancaster put down his chopsticks and picked up the glass of water beside him for a drink.

Ivy Summers looked at him, seemingly checking if he had finished his meal.

Damien Lancaster sensed Ivy Summers’ gaze, lifted his eyes, and looked her up and down, "Thirty minutes, you’ve looked at me six times. Do you have something to say?"

Ivy Summers certainly had something to say.

But this guy was too weird. While appearing focused on eating, he was actually counting how many times she glanced at him!

Ivy Summers’ eyes flickered, and she put on a fake smile, asking, "Have you finished eating?"

"Yes."

"If you’ve finished, could you come out with me? I have something to discuss."

Damien Lancaster’s brow furrowed almost imperceptibly.

He knew what Ivy Summers wanted to discuss.

When it came to this matter, she was truly impatient, unwilling to wait a second longer.

Damien Lancaster’s expression darkened. He stood up and walked outside.

Ivy Summers quickly stood up, gave Ella Morgan a look, followed Damien Lancaster out, and made sure to close the door behind her.

Once they left, Ella Morgan and Sophie immediately leaned down.

Sophie called out softly, "Brothers, come out quickly. Bad Daddy’s gone."

The two little ones crawled out from under the table, dusty and looking pitiful.

"Big Brother, Little Brother, here you go."

Sophie struggled to lift her small hands, took her bowl from the table, and handed it to the two brothers.

Sophie’s bowl held two big chicken legs.

She had grabbed them early to keep Damien Lancaster from getting them, saving them especially for her two brothers.

Sophie pushed the bowl into her brothers’ arms, "Big Brother, Little Brother, eat quickly. It’s so fragrant, so fragrant."

Leo and Nathan were deeply moved by Sophie’s action, and their previously bitter faces immediately brightened with joy.

Whimper whimper, little sister is the best~

...

Ivy Summers and Damien Lancaster asked the waiter to find a quiet spot for them. They sat face to face.

Ivy Summers got straight to the point, taking a prepared divorce agreement from her bag and placing it in front of Damien Lancaster, looking up at him.

"Take a look. If there are no objections, sign it."

Damien Lancaster looked at the divorce agreement in front of him, his face darkening.

Ivy Summers continued, "Rest assured, when I married into the Lancaster Family, I didn’t bring much dowry, and I won’t ask for much during the divorce. I consulted a lawyer for the property division, and what’s written is fair."

"I never thought of getting a divorce."

Damien Lancaster finally spoke in a deep voice.

"What?"

Ivy Summers didn’t catch it.

Damien Lancaster raised his deep eyes to look at her, speaking again, "Ivy Summers, I never said I wanted a divorce from you."

This time Ivy Summers understood.

So?

"Because of Grandpa?"

Back then, he married her because of the old master. Now he was afraid to hurt the old master’s feelings, so he didn’t want a divorce. In Ivy Summers’ view, this was the only reasonable explanation.

Damien Lancaster calmly replied, "It’s not because of anyone. From the moment I married you, I never thought of getting a divorce."

Ivy Summers was slightly stunned.

His words, at a glance, seemed affectionate and responsible.

But recalling past events, Ivy Summers remained very clear-headed.

If he never thought of divorce, why didn’t he treat her well? Why did he care for another woman during their marriage?

So saying he never thought of divorce was nonsense.

He didn’t want a divorce.

Fine.

That was his choice.

But... she wanted it.

After her mother’s death, those seven days consumed all of Ivy Summers’ love for Damien Lancaster.

From the moment she sought a lawyer, she had resolved never to want him again.

If he loves Rachel Shaw, then he can go ahead and love her.

If he likes to protect Rachel Shaw, then let him protect her.

Ivy Summers didn’t need Damien Lancaster as a man.

Damien Lancaster might have money, power, and looks.

But she considered herself not lacking in qualifications and believed she deserved someone better.

So this divorce was certain.
