Unexpected Love: The Chief Auctioneer's Decision
Chapter 53: Begging Damien to Save Sophie
CHAPTER 53: CHAPTER 53: BEGGING DAMIEN TO SAVE SOPHIE
Ivy Summers stepped aside and dialed a call.
A man’s deep, magnetic voice quickly came through on the other end, "What’s up?"
"Sophie is missing. She was kidnapped. Please... help me."
Ivy was terrified, her voice tinged with a sob.
The man on the other end was silent for a few seconds. He had known Ivy for so many years, and this was the first time he heard her use the word "please."
The situation must be extremely urgent.
"Okay."
No extra words, and no time to ask what happened, the man said, "Send me the location. I’ll send someone over first. Hold on."
"Ivy, come quickly."
Ella Morgan shouted over to Ivy Summers.
Ivy hung up the phone and went over immediately.
"Nathan recovered part of the surveillance."
Several people gathered in front of the monitor at once.
Nathan had recovered surveillance at the campus gate, showing that a few minutes after Sophie went to the bathroom, a black car left the school.
After Sophie disappeared, this was the only car that had left the school.
Ella pointed at the car, "It must be this car that took Sophie away."
Ivy stared intently at the license plate number, noted it down, and sent it to the man she had just talked to.
The police also realized this wouldn’t be an ordinary kidnapping, and immediately sent people to investigate the car.
But the result of the investigation showed that the license plate of the car was fake and couldn’t be traced at all.
At that moment, Ivy’s phone rang.
Noah Scott had sent her a message back.
It was a location.
Ivy passed the location to the police, "The car is here."
The police looked at Ivy in shock; they hadn’t even figured it out yet, but the other side already provided a location in less than three minutes. Just how powerful is this?
"Quick, take people and follow this location."
After sharing the location with the police, Ivy also quickly walked out.
"Ivy, where are you going?"
"Please take Nathan and Leo home first for me. I’m going to find Sophie."
"Ivy! Ivy!"
Ella called out worriedly to stop her, but Ivy had already run out.
What to do now?
It’s too dangerous.
Ivy was still sick with a fever this morning.
What if something happened while she’s looking for Sophie?
Ella had just seen that the person who messaged Ivy was Noah Scott, which meant she hadn’t reached out to Damien Lancaster.
Ella gritted her teeth; when it came to Damien, Ivy clearly had some reservations.
Between Damien and Noah, she evidently trusted the latter more.
Ella had indeed witnessed the power of the mysterious man, Noah.
Once there was an auction Ivy attended in Yrador, and someone jeered at her to take off her mask, even throwing down Ten Million, saying she couldn’t leave without doing so.
At that time, Ivy was gaining fame with the titles of the most mysterious and chief auctioneer, making her quite a sensation online. If she revealed her identity, Damien would surely find her.
So, she couldn’t show her face.
Conversely, the other party was unusually adamant in their demand.
That’s when Noah appeared. This man didn’t do anything; he just sat there casually and said, "Continue."
The entire room held their breath, not daring to make a sound.
After that, no one in Yrador dared to joke about Ivy Summers again.
Ella knew then that the man behind Ivy was someone of extraordinary power.
But at this moment, Ella felt that the more help, the better. Ivy might have concerns about contacting Damien, but she did not.
Ella found Damien Lancaster’s number and called him.
She called twice, but couldn’t get through.
Ella then used the phone card Ivy had left her previously to try calling him.
Shortly after, the call connected.
The man’s voice sounded unhappy and deep, "Hello."
"Mr. Lancaster, I’m Sophie’s mom. I’m so sorry to disturb you right now, but I know no one else here, so I have to ask for your help."
"What’s the matter?"
"Sophie... Sophie is missing. The police have confirmed she was kidnapped."
"Sophie was kidnapped?"
Damien’s voice became significantly more tense.
"Yes, I don’t know what to do now. I know you have the capability. Can I beg you to help find the child?"
"How far have you got in the investigation?"
Damien didn’t ask other questions but directly the most crucial one.
"The location of the people who took Sophie has already been tracked down."
"Send me the location."
"Okay."
Damien’s brows were furrowed tightly. He stood up quickly and walked out of his office, ordering Julian Jacobs to organize a search team.
"Damien!" As soon as Rachel Shaw came over, she saw Damien about to leave.
She hurried to catch up, "Damien, where are you going?"
The elevator opened, and Damien quickly stepped inside, "Sophie was kidnapped."
Rachel Shaw’s eyes trembled. She tugged at the corner of her lips and followed Damien, "Sophie? Is that the little kid you found earlier? How did she get kidnapped?"
"I don’t know."
Damien didn’t stop.
"Then how did you know the child was kidnapped?" Rachel continued to probe.
The elevator opened, and Damien strode out, "Her mother contacted me."
Her mother?
Ivy Summers?
No, if it were Ivy, Damien would have said "Ivy Summers" instead of "her mother."
But that wasn’t the most important concern; the crucial point was that Rachel hadn’t expected Damien to know so quickly.
And he was in such a hurry to rescue that damned child.
He cared that much?
Damien caring meant the child couldn’t stay.
Rachel bit her lip, watching Damien leave. Her eyes were filled with coldness. She took out her phone and made a call, which was quickly answered, "Have you taken care of that damn child yet?"
"Don’t worry, Miss Shaw, we’re doing everything as you requested. Just be ready with the money."
Rachel Shaw replied, "Okay, remember, no matter what, I don’t want to see that damn child again..."
Before finishing her sentence, someone behind her said...
"Miss Shaw."
Rachel jumped, startled. Turning around, she saw it was Julian Jacobs.
Rachel’s face turned pale looking at him, "You’re not with Damien?"
"Sir told me to contact people here."
Rachel forced a stiff smile, "Is... is that so. Then you should hurry."
Julian didn’t linger and left immediately.
However, he seemed to have overheard Rachel mentioning something about a damn kid.
No time to think it over, the people he’d contacted had already driven up to the door, so Julian quickly got in the car to catch up with Damien.
Rachel was still shaken, not knowing how much Julian had heard. She picked up her phone again and lowered her voice, "Someone is looking for you. Be careful with your actions."
"Understood."
Rachel hung up and deleted the call record, her eyes filled with malice.
Meanwhile, over on Ivy’s side, she sped up frantically, rushing to the location as fast as she could. It was a remote area, and upon arrival, she saw the car from the surveillance video parked there, with a rundown little shack beside it.
Ivy dashed out of her car, pulling open the car door, but no one was inside.
She turned her gaze toward the shabby, abandoned shack.
Inexplicably, a chill settled in her heart.
Ivy took a deep breath, picked up a thick branch from the side, and gripped it tightly in her hand as she approached the shack. At the door, she slammed it open with force...
What she saw made Ivy’s pupils instantly widen...
