CHAPTER 120: CHAPTER 120: MASTER FAIRCHILD ACTUALLY CHICKENED OUT

"Master Fairchild actually chickened out? What on earth happened while I was away from Bayside City?" Miles Finch exclaimed in surprise.

Quentin Jennings’ gaze was unfathomable, and he shook his head meaningfully, "You just don’t understand."

"I’m not swallowing this dog food, hurry up and start the game!" Miles urged.

After all, it’s just a game of Truth or Dare, so Seraphina Sinclair naturally wasn’t afraid.

Everyone sat in a circle. A delicate spinner was placed in the middle of the round table, and the rack beside it was filled with all kinds of alcohol. It seemed like they were planning for a big game tonight.

"You all know the rules, right?" Quentin scanned the circle, and seeing no one object, he smiled devilishly, "Then I’ll get started."

As soon as he finished speaking, the spinner began to spin rapidly.

After about a minute, it slowly came to a stop, the pointer stopping in front of Quentin himself.

He had just taken a sip of his drink and nearly spat it out when he saw this. He quickly swallowed the drink, his face twisted in dismay, "Seriously? How did it land on me?"

"Truth or Dare, no whining." Felix Miller’s eyes were sparkling, seeming eager for Quentin to pick a Dare, with an inflatable toy mallet already in hand.

Unexpectedly, Quentin chose three penalty drinks for himself.

Felix huffed twice, "Come on, still gotta choose, if everyone just drinks, how do we play?"

"Then Truth it is." Quentin thought, if he can’t set a good example, how would everyone enjoy the game.

Miles asked, "When was the last time you had sex."

Quentin shot him a glare, "Can’t you ask something decent?"

"Quit stalling, just answer." Felix urged.

"Six months ago." Quentin gritted his teeth.

"Oh~ heard that clearly, but with which girl..." Felix started to say more.

Quentin, however, immediately grabbed the spinner, his voice chilling a bit, "I’m starting it now."

For the next three rounds, the spinner landed on Felix every time, and without exception, he chose Dare each time. The first was to kiss Miles, almost getting beaten up by him.

The second was to call the girl he liked most and confess, but his tone wasn’t sincere enough, leading to an on-the-spot rejection.

The third was to dance a rabbit dance in public, and he shamelessly completed it without any embarrassment.

Seraphina Sinclair watched Felix and giggled, her small hand hooked around Desmond Fairchild’s arm, seemingly getting more interested in the game.

The couple was pretty lucky, never having the spinner land on them even once for over half an hour.

Just as they were talking, the arrow spun a few times and stopped in front of Desmond. As everyone exclaimed and cheered, it took a step back and pointed directly at Seraphina.

"Sister-in-law, come on." Felix was filled with anticipation.

Miles, who felt a bit regretful when it initially landed on Desmond, suddenly perked up. His dark eyes were rolling, plotting something unknown.

Seraphina, being someone who acknowledges her losses, didn’t hesitate and directly chose Truth.

Seeing her pick Truth, Miles leaned forward a bit, clasped his hands together, and looked at Seraphina with interest, "Sister-in-law, so I can ask then."

"Go ahead." Seraphina had already mentally prepared herself.

"When was your first night?" Miles squinted, dropping the bombshell with his words.

As soon as he spoke, the atmosphere froze. Desmond’s tall body went rigid, his icy gaze sweeping across Miles’ face, a fierce warning in his eyes.

What she feared most was bringing up that past, and now being asked by Miles in public made her feel quite uncomfortable inside.

Though he also cared about her previous marriage with Ethan Lloyd, he ultimately held only deeper sympathy for her knowing she was the victim.

Quentin, sensing the rising tension, quickly stood up to mediate, "How about we call it a day, it’s getting late, and Jude Sinclair is still at home, you two should hurry back to take care of him."

As he spoke, he glared at Miles, how could he be so insensitive to bring this up, was this something to ask?

Miles, just back from overseas, was unaware of the backstory, and combined with drinking too much, he completely ignored Desmond’s warning and continued to probe, "Sister-in-law, you haven’t answered yet."

Everyone was nervous, but Seraphina was surprisingly calm. Others might not know, but she was clear, that during those years she and Ethan were only married in name, with Melanie Lloyd watching like a hawk, Ethan never touched her.

And her first night was at The Crown Hotel that evening.

"May 27th, five years ago."

That date sounded familiar to everyone.

Quentin was especially shocked, covering his mouth. While others might not know, he did, May 27th, five years ago was the night Desmond lost his virginity.

If that’s the case... he quietly glanced at Desmond.

As expected, he saw a hint of joy in Desmond’s sharp, cold eyes, clearly indicating they were on the same page.

Even though he accidentally resolved a long-standing worry, Desmond’s expression remained grim. He said coldly, "Miles."

"Master Fairchild, I know I was wrong." Miles quickly apologized, "I was just asking casually."

Seraphina shook her head, signaling Desmond not to pursue it further, "It’s alright."

She might have accepted it calmly, but that didn’t mean she wasn’t bothered by it. Having agreed to participate in the game, she had anticipated the consequences, and this situation was no exception.

Miles felt a bit embarrassed as well, and after Quentin explained a bit, he took up his drink and downed three cups as a self-punishment.

Seraphina wasn’t one to hold grudges, seeing his sincere apology, she didn’t take it to heart either.

They played for who knows how long, and by the end, Seraphina was thoroughly drunk, almost unable to distinguish directions, clinging to Desmond like a sloth.

"Hubby..." Seraphina wrapped her arms around Desmond’s neck, calling him sweetly.

It was only because she was drunk, as when sober, Desmond rarely had the chance to hear such a coquettish name calling.

He chuckled softly, lifting Seraphina into the car with the gentleness one would use for a rare treasure.

Even in the car, Seraphina wasn’t behaving properly, her small hand kept poking Desmond’s firm chest, and her enticing lips wouldn’t stop chattering, "What do you think Miles meant earlier, asking such a question, it was really too much."

"Yes, it was indeed too much." Desmond replied good-naturedly, wrapping his large hand around her restless little hand, his eyes full of tenderness.

"But I didn’t lie, May 27th was the first time." Seraphina mumbled, speaking very softly.

Desmond, being so close, heard it clearly, and the corners of his mouth couldn’t help but lift, surprising the driver.

The driver knew he’d never seen this big BOSS smile before, much less seen him so gentle with a woman, today must have been an anomaly.
