Unexpected Marriage: She is the Sugar Mommy!
Chapter 143: Forced Kiss
CHAPTER 143: CHAPTER 143: FORCED KISS
Rosalie had just been blocked by Quentin’s cheerful demeanor, which allowed Desmond to easily pull Seraphina away.
"Why are you blocking me?" Rosalie glared at Quentin, almost wishing to hit him.
"Eldest Miss Quinn, the young couple wants to have a private conversation. Why are you interfering?" Quentin, knowing Rosalie, had to offend her for the happiness of his brother.
Rosalie stomped her foot in frustration and wanted to rush forward, but Quentin firmly blocked her way. Helpless, she had to wait by the staircase for Seraphina to come down.
Seraphina was dragged around by Desmond, stumbling as he showed no signs of stopping. Finally, her patience ran out, and she forcefully shook off his hand, shouting angrily, "Desmond Fairchild! Let me go! What on earth do you want to do?!"
Desmond stopped, turned to look at her. Seeing her furious face, his eyes deepened for a moment, and then he began to slowly close in on her step by step.
Seraphina kept retreating as he approached, until she had nowhere left to back away, and she was pressed against the wall by Desmond.
"Desmond!" Seraphina looked at him, exasperated and helpless, as his face was now inches away.
Desmond saw her cheeks flushing with annoyance, his gaze darkening, his Adam’s apple moved, and the next second, he covered Seraphina’s lips with his own.
"Mmm..." Caught off guard, Seraphina instinctively tried to struggle, but he pinned her hands against the wall, his breath invading her senses completely.
Recalling how Seraphina had been cold to him these past days, Desmond’s actions grew more intense, ravaging her mouth with fervor as if he wanted to devour her whole.
Finally, when Seraphina felt she couldn’t take it anymore, Desmond’s movements suddenly softened, the kiss becoming gentle, as if comforting Seraphina after a storm.
After a long moment, Desmond finally released her. Seraphina leaned against the wall to barely keep herself from sliding down. After calming down a bit, she suddenly raised her hand.
"Slap!" A crisp sound echoed as a palm print appeared on Desmond’s face. He seemed stunned by the sudden slap, staring blankly at Seraphina.
Seraphina bit her lip hard, with tears seemingly swirling in her eyes, while Desmond opened his mouth but said nothing in the end.
"Seraphina, what happened? Are you okay?" Rosalie, seeing Seraphina coming down the stairs with her head lowered, rushed forward worriedly.
"It’s nothing, let’s go." Seraphina shook her head lightly.
Seeing her like this, Rosalie glared at Quentin, who had blocked her earlier, and left with her.
"Why are you glaring at me?" Quentin said innocently, then turned to look at Desmond coming down the stairs, spotting the slap mark on his face immediately.
"Tsk, what did you do? Your lady sure hits hard." Quentin clicked his tongue in amazement.
Desmond, however, sat silently on the couch, and Quentin sat down with him, speaking earnestly, "Fairchild, I’m not criticizing you, but since she was already angry, why would you act like that? You should explain things properly to her."
"What is she angry about?" Desmond looked at him.
"From the first day your new assistant arrived at the company, rumors started spreading about you two. Of course, your lady would be upset hearing that.
Haven’t you explained it to her? Then you appeared together with that assistant in front of Seraphina, causing a dispute, and you didn’t stand up for her? You say you treat Anna as a sister, but how do you know she sees you as a brother?
And let me tell you, the company is buzzing about it. This morning at the Southgate Park development rights bidding, Anna openly said that you and her have fond memories there. How could Seraphina not be upset hearing those words?" Quentin said earnestly.
Desmond furrowed his brows, "I’ve explained all that to her. I have nothing with Anna, but she won’t listen."
"Let’s look at it from another perspective. If you saw Seraphina with another man, even if she explained he’s just like a brother to her, wouldn’t you still be upset?" Quentin sighed.
Desmond recalled seeing Seraphina with another man on the street days ago, and his face darkened, "Of course, I would."
"There you go!" Quentin said as if it were obvious.
"But..."
Desmond furrowed his brows, trying to speak, but Quentin interrupted, "No buts, trying to reason with a woman is foolish. Fairchild, you better coax her back soon, or else some other man might snatch her away..."
Desmond suddenly stood up before Quentin could finish, startling him, "Whoa, don’t scare me, man."
But Desmond didn’t look at him and went straight out. Quentin sighed and watched Desmond’s hurried steps, self-satisfactorily exclaiming, "I’m brilliant, truly a modern-day Cupid."
After Rosalie and Seraphina got into the car, Seraphina lifted her head, and Rosalie noticed her slightly swollen lips, shaking with anger, "That bastard! How dare he force a kiss on you! Hell, I’ll chop him today!"
"Forget it, it’s like getting bitten by a dog. Let’s just go back." Seraphina gently held Rosalie’s hand and shook her head.
With that, she leaned back in the seat and closed her eyes to rest. Her mind was a complete mess, unable to think.
When Desmond kissed her, she shamelessly felt a stir in her heart. She found herself unable to resist his intimacy, yet the past events stuck in her throat, making it impossible for her to accept Desmond.
