Unexpected Marriage: She is the Sugar Mommy!
Chapter 159: Show Your Sincerity
CHAPTER 159: CHAPTER 159: SHOW YOUR SINCERITY
Seraphina Sinclair raised an eyebrow and, following her words, reached into her clothes pocket and indeed found a USB drive.
Avril saw the surprised look on Seraphina’s face and displayed a few hints of a smile. However, coupled with her current appearance, it seemed particularly eerie.
"President Sinclair, there’s no need to look at me like that. There’s no affection between Ethan Lloyd and me. He likes my looks and body, and I’m interested in his power. To put it bluntly, it’s just a transaction."
Listening to her words, Seraphina sighed inwardly but kept a calm face. "Then how did you get hold of this evidence?"
"Using beauty to win people over isn’t a long-lasting strategy. Naturally, I needed to leave myself a way out. I found this evidence in Ethan Lloyd’s office. Initially, I thought if he got tired of me, I could use this evidence to blackmail a large sum from him. Given Lloyd Group’s current state, this thing could probably take half his life." Avril said.
So this was premeditated all along? But she made no comment on it. Now that the evidence was in her hands, she could certainly use it to her advantage.
"Alright, I’ll keep this USB drive. Ethan Lloyd will get what he deserves. I’ll cover your hospital bills, and if you want cosmetic surgery in the future, I’ll pay for that too." Seraphina said, putting the USB into her bag decisively.
Only then did Avril breathe a sigh of relief, her whole body relaxing.
After leaving the hospital, Seraphina decided to discuss with Desmond Fairchild what to do with the USB. She then learned that he had plans at Azure Gardens today.
But she never expected to witness such a scene.
It took all her restraint not to charge forward. She took a deep breath, turned around, and left.
With Jude Sinclair’s help, Seraphina used an anonymous IP account to copy the evidence from the USB and sent it to Ethan Lloyd’s email.
Almost instantly, she received a reply from Ethan Lloyd saying, "Who are you? How did you get these things?"
Ethan Lloyd’s eyes burned red as he looked at the things in his email. He had clearly destroyed this evidence long ago. How could an anonymous person send it to his computer?!
"You don’t need to know how I got these things. I’m sure you’re familiar with them, President Lloyd? If you don’t want tomorrow’s trending topic to be Lloyd Group’s tax evasion, you should show your sincerity." Seraphina replied.
"How much do you want?" Ethan Lloyd asked, suspecting whether there was a mole beside him while looking at the email.
"President Lloyd is straightforward. I believe this evidence is worth a few million, don’t you think?" Seraphina replied with a hint of probing.
Ethan Lloyd calculated the liquid assets he could manage within the company’s normal operations, gritting his teeth as he replied, "Five million."
Seraphina estimated and gained an understanding of Lloyd Group’s current cash flow.
She chuckled, "That amount might not be enough to buy this evidence."
"Eight million, not a penny more. You know the current state of Lloyd Group. If it’s more, it’s no different than you releasing the evidence." Ethan Lloyd gritted his teeth and said.
"Deal." Seraphina shrugged, agreeing.
...
In the evening, when Desmond Fairchild returned, Seraphina casually let him sit on the sofa, thinking about the scene she saw in the restaurant today.
Feigning indifference, she asked, "I went to your company to find you today. Why weren’t you there?"
"Really? When was that? I went to a subsidiary for inspection today." Desmond was momentarily puzzled before replying.
"A subsidiary? Then who was the person meeting with Anna at Azure Gardens? You promised me you wouldn’t meet her privately again. What do you mean by this?" Seraphina looked at him coldly, her eyes starting to redden.
Desmond panicked when he saw her like this. "Seraphina, there’s a reason for today. Jude also knows about this matter. We didn’t want to disturb you, which is why we didn’t tell you."
Beside him, Jude quickly nodded in agreement. "Yes, yes, Mommy, I can vouch for that."
Desmond led Seraphina to Jude’s room, showing her the records and explaining the situation. Only then did he manage to barely coax her.
"But why did you hide it from me? And together with Jude? I don’t like Anna, nor do I like you meeting or talking with him. You can call me unreasonable or heartless. I just can’t stand you being good to her, and I can’t stand seeing you alone with her."
Seraphina decided to spill her heart out, unabashedly exposing her feelings.
Desmond gently held Seraphina in his arms. "I know, I promise if something like this happens again, I’ll never hide it from you."
"There’s not going to be a next time." Seraphina corrected sullenly, pulling away from his embrace and handing him the USB she had been holding. "Take a look at this USB yourself. Tomorrow I’m taking Jude to Aunt Yates’ place."
After saying this, Seraphina returned to her room and locked the door.
She knew her behavior was unreasonable, but she just couldn’t accept it. She also knew that she couldn’t really blame Desmond, as his intentions were for her good.
But she couldn’t help being angry, couldn’t help being jealous, and this twisted sense of possessiveness made her feel panic.
Sutton Family.
"When I heard you were coming, I instructed the kitchen to prepare your favorite dishes from back in the day. I hope your tastes haven’t changed." Zoe Yates said, looking at Seraphina as she entered, warmly taking her hand.
"Thank you, Aunt Yates. Oh, and this is my son, Jude Sinclair. Jude, call her Aunt." Seraphina pulled Jude, who was behind her, forward.
"Aunt." Jude smiled as he greeted.
Who wouldn’t like a chubby little bundle like him? Zoe instantly adored Jude, squatting down to gently pinch his cheek. "Oh, your name is Jude? You’re so handsome."
While speaking, Zoe led the two to the sofa, and a servant brought over three drinks.
"Seraphina, give it a try." Zoe said kindly.
Seraphina smelled the familiar aroma, took a sip from the cup, and the memories long buried in her mind were instantly awakened. It was her favorite oatmeal fruit tea from the past. Tears pricked her eyes. "It tastes exactly the same as before."
"Of course it does. Nanny Wood always makes it this way." Zoe said, and as she spoke, an elderly woman in her fifties or sixties came out of the kitchen excitedly looking at Seraphina.
"Nanny Wood! It’s really you. I thought you had gone back to your hometown." Seraphina said excitedly, standing up from the sofa and walking over to the elderly woman.
