Unexpected Marriage: She is the Sugar Mommy!
Chapter 169: Extreme Sports
CHAPTER 169: CHAPTER 169: EXTREME SPORTS
"It’s just a pity that he already has a girlfriend."
"Even if he didn’t, he’d never go for someone like us. Just look at how beautiful his girlfriend is. How could we ever match up?"
"True that."
Unlike the girls’ admiring attitude, many guys felt they could be more handsome than Desmond Fairchild, and there was no shortage of those who fantasized about Seraphina Sinclair.
After all, guys are creatures that never want to admit they’re inferior to others.
After the recent commotion, Seraphina Sinclair lost her interest in shopping. She sighed, feeling a little bored, "Where should we go now? Should we just head back?"
"Do you have any interest in rock climbing?" Desmond Fairchild considered for a few seconds before speaking.
When rock climbing was mentioned, Seraphina Sinclair’s eyes lit up with excitement, "Is there a place for rock climbing nearby?"
"Yes," Desmond nodded slightly.
"Then what are we waiting for? Let’s hurry up and go!" Seraphina Sinclair was overjoyed, pulling Desmond Fairchild and rushing forward.
At this moment, she resembled a child who has found a new toy, her whole face glowing with excitement, showing none of her usual business-like coldness.
Desmond was dragged along by her, moved forward passively, following her light footsteps, and his beautiful lips curved into a gentle arc.
Deep down, Seraphina Sinclair was never one to remain quiet. If not forced by life and circumstances, she also desired to live freely, to try many things she had never experienced before.
Now that there’s an opportunity, she wouldn’t miss it.
The rock climbing site was located just to the east of Flower City, where stood a tall mountain known as Maiden’s Peak.
Maiden’s Peak resembled a young girl, with deep gorges thousands of meters deep beside it, making it the perfect location for rock climbing and bungee jumping, so it was also called Devil’s Peak.
Many extreme sports enthusiasts who visited Flower City would definitely come to Devil’s Peak.
The ticket office was situated below the gorge. Looking up, one could indeed see its grandeur and magnificence. Before even entering, she could hear screams echoing from mid-air, chilling the onlookers.
Nevertheless, she did not retreat.
"Hello, what projects would you like to try?" The ticket agent greeted Seraphina Sinclair with a big smile.
"What kind of projects do you have here?" Seraphina Sinclair asked full of curiosity.
A handsome man and a beautiful woman together always attract attention. Everyone loves beauty, and the ticket agent’s attitude was naturally exceptionally good upon seeing such a good-looking pair.
She gave Seraphina Sinclair a detailed introduction to all the available activities, reminding her of various precautions, showcasing her meticulous care.
After listening, Seraphina Sinclair was somewhat indecisive and thus turned to ask Desmond Fairchild, "They all seem quite interesting. Which one should we choose?"
"If you’re interested, we can try all of them." Desmond generously offered, paying for the tickets.
Unexpectedly, the ticket agent returned his money, smiling as she explained, "Sir, if you want to experience all the activities, you don’t need to pay right now."
"Oh?" Desmond was puzzled.
"All of our activities are extreme sports. If someone manages to complete all the activities successfully, then today’s ticket is free. If they don’t complete them all, we’ll charge for each project afterward."
As soon as she finished speaking, Seraphina Sinclair tugged at Desmond Fairchild’s sleeve, her eyes filled with eagerness, "Let’s go for it."
Desmond smiled mildly, patted her head, "Alright, it’s all up to you."
"Since you both want to try all the activities, please take these experience cards. After completing each project, remember to get a stamp from the staff. If you forget to get it stamped, it won’t count even if you finish," the ticket agent pulled out two experience cards from the drawer for them, making a cheer-up gesture.
Seraphina smiled and thanked her, quickly pulling Desmond into the venue.
Along the way, she started to struggle with indecisiveness, hesitating on which activity to begin with.
Desmond casually pointed, "Why not start with the closest one?"
"Alright, your call." Seraphina clapped her hands in agreement.
The nearest activity was the canyon pirate ship.
To be honest, Seraphina Sinclair wasn’t particularly afraid of the pirate ship, mostly just nauseated by the spinning. So she and Desmond were quickly up and down, finishing this activity in no time.
With their psychological resilience, the preliminary activities seemed minor in comparison, and before long they reached the climbing spot.
Facing a wall that seemed to stretch forever into the sky, Seraphina Sinclair swallowed hard. She hadn’t seriously exercised in a while, unsure if she could climb up.
"We’ve come this far, there’s only one way but forward," Seraphina Sinclair clenched her fist, motivating herself.
"No need to force yourself," Desmond gently squeezed her hand, speaking softly.
Seraphina shook her head firmly, "How would I know I can’t do it unless I try?"
She then walked over to the staff, quickly got geared up, and waved to Desmond Fairchild, her gaze teasing, "Desmond, care for a little competition?"
"Compete with you? I fear victory wouldn’t be honorable," Desmond’s eyebrow slightly arched, doubting Seraphina’s capabilities.
With her slender arms and legs, unable to handle rough work maneuvers normally, it wouldn’t be a glorious win even if he did prevail.
Seraphina wasn’t having it, full of confidence she challenged him, "If you win, I will agree to one condition from you."
"Are you sure?" Desmond seemed amused.
"I’m sure," Seraphina coughed twice, nodding. Having made such a bold statement, she couldn’t just back down now.
Having said this, Desmond had no reason to refuse.
With the staff signaling the start, the two began climbing up. Being a girl, Seraphina was naturally not a match for Desmond Fairchild, barely starting before beginning to fall behind.
However, Desmond, eager to obtain the condition promised by Seraphina, showed no intention of giving her a break.
Of course, this was precisely the fairness Seraphina desired. She never wanted others to see her as weak. Since they agreed to compete, Desmond showing his true skill was her greatest respect.
Gradually, she came to understand, though she despised being seen as weak, she couldn’t deny her own vulnerability.
For years she had made time to practice Taekwondo, yet now couldn’t even climb a mere rock wall.
In the past too, she was repeatedly injured, if it hadn’t been for Desmond and Austin White being there, she reckoned even a few lives wouldn’t suffice.
Looking up at the sky above, Seraphina Sinclair panted heavily, glancing down below, she’d only climbed a few dozen meters and already felt exhausted, yet still had the audacity to challenge Desmond.
"If you slow down any more, I’ll be at the top," Desmond’s gentle voice came from above.
Seraphina looked up at him, revealing a reluctant smile, "Seems I’m bound to lose today. No need to wait for me, go ahead."
Even if she was going to lose, she wanted at least to complete it.
"Are you feeling unwell anywhere?" Desmond saw her pale face, immediately stopped and lowered himself to her side.
