CHAPTER 171: CHAPTER 171: THE CONTACT PERSON

The man driving was named Jackson, and he didn’t expect that just messing around a bit, Desmond Fairchild actually caught up on a rundown motorcycle. Nervously, he stomped on the gas, and the car sped up significantly.

Through the rearview mirror, Shirley Lynch watched Desmond getting left farther and farther behind, and her tense expression relaxed slightly.

Then she pulled out her phone, uncertain whom she was calling.

A cold female voice came from the other end, and she anxiously said, "I’m bringing the person over immediately. Are you there yet?"

"I’m already here," the other person replied.

"That’s good." Shirley Lynch hung up the phone, turned her head to look at Seraphina Sinclair, who was still under anesthesia, and her eyes were filled with hatred.

The decline of the Lynch Family to its current state was all thanks to Seraphina Sinclair. Seraphina, today I, Shirley Lynch, will make sure your name is ruined!

Desmond Fairchild’s motorcycle was not high-performing and naturally couldn’t keep up with the Mercedes ahead. Fortunately, with Austin White as a navigator, he wasn’t afraid of losing them.

Shirley Lynch took Seraphina Sinclair to an old residential building. After they got out of the car, Austin White could no longer track the target’s movement.

Seraphina’s phone had a GPS tracking system, but even Shirley Lynch wasn’t stupid enough to overlook that; she had already found Seraphina’s phone and thrown it in the trash.

Of course, even so, it wouldn’t stump Austin White.

"The car’s stopped. I’ve hacked Shirley Lynch’s phone. They’re moving at a slow pace less than three kilometers from you; speed up. I’m worried they might harm my godmother," Austin White’s palms were sweaty. Since the other side had stopped running, they must be planning to harm Seraphina Sinclair here.

He was desperately worried, but being thousands of miles away, he could only pin all his hopes on Desmond Fairchild.

He didn’t even know if Desmond could pull it off.

Shirley Lynch and her crew took Seraphina Sinclair through the alleyways and into a seemingly abandoned house.

After exchanging a secret code, the person who knocked was let in, revealing a pale face: "Come in."

As the door shut with a heavy thud, Shirley Lynch yelled, "I’ve brought the person you wanted. Don’t go back on your word."

"You can leave now." The cold voice was identical to the one over the phone.

Shirley Lynch was displeased with her superior attitude and said harshly, "Anna, today I helped you abduct Seraphina Sinclair. Desmond Fairchild will surely trace it back to me. Our Lynch Group cannot withstand such a blow. Besides what you promised before, if Desmond causes us trouble, I’ll expose everything you made me do today."

That’s right, the woman meeting Shirley Lynch was Anna, who had been reassigned by Desmond Fairchild.

Why she was here now,

"Do you think I handle things as brainlessly as you?" Anna looked at Shirley Lynch with undisguised disdain.

"Don’t push it too far." Shirley Lynch’s face turned livid with rage, and she quickly retorted, "Just a butler’s daughter, what right do you have to look down on me?"

Regarding her identity, Anna was never self-conscious. She proudly straightened her chest and met Shirley Lynch’s gaze: "Yes, your status as the Lynch Family heiress is indeed nobler than mine. But isn’t it you who cried and begged to cooperate with me? Without the Lynch Group, what are you? I’m different from you, even without the Cloudsea Group’s protection, I can still trample you underfoot. That’s the difference between us; understand?"

She never underestimated herself, and this inherent nobility and pride were something Shirley Lynch lacked. Though Shirley was furious, she found no words to refute.

After struggling for a while, she could only suppress her anger and calm herself down: "Just don’t forget what you promised me, or we’ll both go our separate ways."

Anna gave her a cold look without responding.

Knowing Anna wouldn’t answer, Shirley Lynch could only take her crew and leave through the back door.

After she left, Anna took a deep breath and crouched down to carefully observe Seraphina Sinclair’s face. Such exquisite features, it’s no wonder even Desmond Fairchild was smitten.

Today she was fighting with her back against the wall. She knew very well that Desmond rescuing Seraphina Sinclair was only a matter of time, but she couldn’t resist wanting to see who mattered more to him.

With cold fingers stroking Seraphina’s warm face, Anna sighed deeply once more, "I didn’t want to hurt you, but your arrival changed my carefully scripted plans. I have no choice, so don’t blame me."

He should be here soon.

Anna gazed through the door at the empty street outside, opening her mouth to speak to no one in particular, "I’m ready here; we can start."

Desmond Fairchild had already parked the car downstairs, following Austin White’s directions to quickly locate where Seraphina Sinclair might be held.

The commotion outside made Anna’s heart race. She knew what she was about to face, but she couldn’t help but gamble. If Desmond Fairchild had even the slightest affection for her, she would go to any lengths to have him.

If he truly was that ruthless, then no one would have a good ending.

Here we go!

Desmond, following Austin’s guidance, was feeling around the approximate position where Shirley Lynch had lingered before. Just as he was about to quietly climb into a balcony of a house, a mechanical male voice sounded in his ear.

"Listen, outsider, you better not act rashly, or your wife and your mistress will both die today."

Desmond’s handsome face darkened, but his voice grew even calmer, "What’s your purpose for capturing my wife? If it’s money you want, I’m open to negotiation."

"Money is indeed nice, but it’s not all I want," the person inside finished speaking, followed by a bone-chilling laugh that made one’s hair stand on end.

Desmond wasn’t afraid, his concern was only for Seraphina Svclaire’s safety. Inside, whoever or whatever it was, he was indifferent.

Since they were willing to talk, it showed they wanted something. He stepped closer to the door and said sternly, "Give her back to me, and you can have whatever you want."

"Oh, really?" the person inside scoffed, then a cold voice continued, "What if I say I want your life?"

Chill radiated around Desmond, killing intent brewing in his phoenix-like eyes. He couldn’t help but curl his thin lips, his indifferent voice betraying no joy or anger: "Are you threatening me?"

"So what if I am?" The man let out a repulsive laugh and continued, "If you’re not willing, then your wife and mistress might not make it out of here today."

Wife naturally referred to Seraphina Sinclair, as for who the mistress was, to be honest, Desmond didn’t care at all.

In his eyes, mind, and ears, only the word wife existed, and he had no time or concern for anything else.
