Unexpected Marriage: She is the Sugar Mommy!
Chapter 174: Return to Bayside City
CHAPTER 174: CHAPTER 174: RETURN TO BAYSIDE CITY
"What you said makes sense." Seraphina Sinclair nodded frequently, having some understanding of Quentin Jennings.
A playboy usually loves bars and nightlife; hot springs naturally don’t appeal to him.
Little did she know, after a day of running around, Quentin longed to soak in a hot spring to relax, but since the couple wanted to enjoy their world alone, if he didn’t take the hint, he might be sent to Africa by Desmond Fairchild for development.
At night, Seraphina and Desmond shared the bed.
She had slept so much during the day that Seraphina actually didn’t feel sleepy at all. Lying in Desmond’s arms, her heart grew increasingly uneasy.
The encounter with Shirley Lynch during the day always made her feel it couldn’t be that simple, but she had been drugged and felt nothing about what had transpired that afternoon.
Initially, she thought she had been cautious enough over the years, yet upon returning to Bayside City, she was continuously set up by minor characters like Shirley Lynch and Melanie Lloyd.
If it were before, she would have definitely avoided such trouble.
What’s happening now?
Looking up at Desmond’s chiseled, handsome face, Seraphina’s anxious heart was instantly filled with a sense of security.
It seems ever since meeting Desmond, no matter what happened, he always helped her settle everything, big and small. Every time there was danger, he would always appear first to protect her.
Seraphina seemed to have found the reason.
Because with Desmond by her side, she was so well protected that she even forgot how to spell the word "danger".
As long as he was there, she believed he could protect her well.
She hadn’t even realized that unknowingly, she trusted Desmond to such an extent that her sensitivity to danger had diminished by who knows how much.
Seraphina sighed deeply, indeed flowers in a greenhouse can’t grow, if she went on like this, she’d soon become a complete waste.
The couple lay on the same bed, but their thoughts were entirely opposite.
Because Seraphina had been kidnapped due to his reasons, Desmond just wanted to protect her better, hoping she’d rely on him more and not get involved in his troubles again.
Meanwhile, Seraphina was thinking she shouldn’t rely on Desmond for everything; she needed to have a sense of danger, she couldn’t wait for Desmond to rescue her every time, but should try to avoid such dangers from happening in the first place.
Seraphina remained unaware of the kidnapping until she returned to Bayside City. Desmond concealed it well, not wanting her to be troubled by such meaningless things.
Besides, their target was him, there was no need to drag Seraphina into it.
Knowing Seraphina and Desmond were coming back, Jude Sinclair and Rosalie Quinn got up early to wait at the door.
At the moment of seeing Seraphina, Rosalie rushed over quickly, "Honey, you finally came back, I missed you to death."
"Missed me? I see your social media looked pretty fabulous lately, I’m afraid you didn’t have time to miss me." Seraphina teased her with a smile.
Her words instantly made Rosalie embarrassed, so she pretended to punch her on the chest shyly, "Oh, you understand, why say it out loud! So annoying."
"I can’t tell that you, Miss Rosalie, could be so shy? Who are you pretending for?" Seraphina pushed Rosalie aside, squatted down in front of Jude at the door, opened her arms, her face lit up with a smile, "Sweetheart, haven’t seen you for so long, did you miss me? Come to mommy for a hug."
Jude indeed missed Seraphina. Rarely, he put down his pride and rushed into Seraphina’s arms, waving his little hands, "Mommy! Where’s daddy?"
"Oh? Haven’t even said a few words to me and you start asking about your dad?" Seraphina jealously pushed Jude aside, showing displeasure on her face, "I carried you for ten months, and all you see is your dad, huh? Brat!"
"Mommy, don’t be so petty, I was just asking casually. Of course, I love you more, does that even need saying?" Jude hurriedly grabbed her arm in a sweet voice, coaxing her, fearing she might really be upset.
Standing at the side, Rosalie shook her head repeatedly, having to admit that this father and son’s level of coaxing women was not even on the same level; if Desmond were as articulate as Jude, he probably wouldn’t have found pursuing Seraphina so hard.
Being coaxed by Jude, Seraphina indeed laughed happily, hugging and kissing the child twice, "Indeed, a son is the best."
After entering the house, Rosalie immediately started rummaging through Seraphina’s suitcase, frowning as she searched, "I say, sweetheart, what did you buy? Where’s my gift?"
"Whatever you like, just take," Seraphina pointed to the pile of local specialties like dolls and wood carvings in the suitcase, saying to Rosalie.
"Just these? No more?" Rosaline couldn’t believe as she looked at the woodcarving in her hand, so rough it couldn’t even be considered a cheap craft, way too ugly.
Seraphina nodded, "I just went to Flower City, local specialties are just these."
"Forget it, then this will do." Although Rosaline was very disdainful, she still chose that extremely ugly woodcarving. It was better than those oddly shaped dolls.
Seraphina pulled out a delicate little doll from her bag and handed it to Jude, saying like presenting a treasure, "Son, mommy searched for this for a long time to find. Doesn’t it look just like you?"
Jude looked at the palm-sized doll, indeed delicate, but it didn’t look like him at all. Of course, since it was a gift from his own mother, he liked it and accepted it happily.
"Tell us, what have you and your President Fairchild been up to these days? Has your relationship warmed up a bit?" Rosalie put down the woodcarving, quickly walked to Seraphina’s side, sat down, propped her chin with both hands, looking like she was eager for gossip.
A good friend’s love story is the best seasoning of life, there’s no way she’d miss it.
Not just her, Jude too was very concerned about the relationship development of his parents, so he perked up his ears, ready to listen attentively.
Talking about her relationship with Desmond, Seraphina couldn’t help blushing, and her voice sounded a bit unnatural, "It’s, it’s just like that."
Who doesn’t understand Seraphina, seeing her like this, she must be shy.
Rosalie and Jude exchanged a glance, not intending to let Seraphina off, planning to dig to the bottom of it.
Seraphina didn’t hide it, skipping some inappropriate-for-children details, she told almost everything to Rosalie. Rosalie expressed envy afterwards.
Seraphina, however, glanced at her, "What’s there to envy? Aren’t you and Simon Finch doing quite well? Seeing your social media posts, you should have reconciled, right?"
Rosalie cheerfully nodded, "Pretty much."
"Regardless of why you argued before, I hope you think rationally. Simon Finch is really good to you, don’t push it too far," Seraphina said seriously.
