Unexpected Marriage: She is the Sugar Mommy!
Chapter 223: Resolving to Overcome Depression
CHAPTER 223: CHAPTER 223: RESOLVING TO OVERCOME DEPRESSION
Austin White sighed as he told Seraphina Sinclair, complaining with his mouth but full of respect for Desmond Fairchild: "Godmother, ever since you fell into a coma, he hasn’t eaten, drank, or slept, just stayed by your side. If it weren’t for number three occasionally injecting him with sleeping drugs and nutritional shots, he might have reported to the Grim Reaper even before you woke up."
After all, one can’t tell if a man truly loves a woman in just a day or two, but over this past month, Austin finally understood. Desmond Fairchild didn’t care about his own life for the sake of Seraphina Sinclair. Isn’t that love?
A man who loves her so much, regardless of his background, surely wouldn’t let his godmother get hurt.
Therefore, the White brothers, Austin and Camille, no longer held any prejudice against Desmond Fairchild and instinctively regarded him as one of their own.
"Why are you so foolish? Thank goodness I woke up. If I hadn’t, were you planning to lose your life?" Seraphina Sinclair was both touched and angry, her eyes moistening once more.
She never expected anyone would sacrifice so much for her, even disregarding their own health.
Desmond Fairchild, this fool.
The more she thought about it, the more her nose tingled, and tears flowed uncontrollably down her face.
Desmond Fairchild couldn’t bear to see Seraphina Sinclair in tears. Her crying melted his heart, so he hurriedly pulled her into his arms to comfort her: "Don’t cry, don’t cry, aren’t I just fine?"
Seraphina Sinclair leaned against his chest, sobbing so hard that she was gasping for air: "Next time, don’t do this, okay?"
"You want there to be a next time?" Desmond Fairchild’s face darkened, and he forcefully ordered her, "Seraphina, I’m warning you, if it happens again, I won’t forgive you."
Seraphina Sinclair burst into laughter through her tears: "Alright, alright, I promise there won’t be a next time."
She dared not risk a next time. It wouldn’t matter if she died, but if she truly did, what would become of Desmond and Jude Sinclair?
She didn’t want to hurt the two men who loved her most because of her own issues.
Jude Sinclair chimed in, leaning between them with a cheeky smile: "Mommy, if you do it again, I’ll have Daddy find me a stepmother and leave you."
Seraphina Sinclair exploded upon hearing this and yelled hoarsely: "You little brat, are you asking for a beating?"
"If you don’t want Daddy to have a new wife, and if you don’t want me to have a new mom, Mommy, please behave and don’t make us worry, okay?" Jude Sinclair said, suddenly pouting and feeling awful at the thought of Seraphina Sinclair’s previous condition.
Understanding Jude Sinclair’s feelings, Seraphina Sinclair looked at her son lovingly and responded in a soft voice: "I promise, there won’t be a next time."
Her depression was fatal to her. Those dark times from the past haunted her mind persistently, and she often had nightmares at night because she was so afraid of being alone.
But now, she was not alone.
Even if not for herself, she had to overcome depression for her family.
With that thought, Seraphina Sinclair’s eyes became more determined. She looked at Camille White and said seriously, "Camille, help me."
Camille White immediately understood: "Godmother, as long as you’re willing, I’ll use all my knowledge to help you."
Camille White’s medical skills had reached a level where he could bring people back from the brink of death. The reason he hadn’t yet cured Seraphina Sinclair was purely because she didn’t cooperate.
Depression, essentially, is a psychological illness. Seraphina Sinclair resisted treatment and wouldn’t even talk to Camille about her past experiences, so even with his top-notch psychology skills, Camille couldn’t do much for her.
Patient cooperation is crucial for treatment.
Now that Seraphina Sinclair was willing to actively cooperate, Camille White believed she would soon completely come out of the shadow.
Seraphina Sinclair waking up on New Year’s Eve was a huge blessing; the whole family could reunite, truly making it feel like the New Year.
Old Mrs. Fairchild, informed of the news, was relieved to see Seraphina Sinclair sitting well on the bed.
She was genuinely afraid, afraid that Seraphina Sinclair wouldn’t come around and would remain asleep, and also afraid Desmond Fairchild wouldn’t come around and would remain in despair.
Fortunately, everything took a turn for the better.
At the New Year’s Eve dinner, Desmond Fairchild completely transformed from his previous disheveled state and tidied himself up.
Although his dark circles and eye bags hadn’t disappeared, after getting a haircut and shaving, he looked much more spirited.
Austin White enviously looked at him, muttering under his breath: "How can this man look so rejuvenated after just a little tidying up, it’s so annoying."
Irene Rowe couldn’t help but laugh: "President Fairchild has the looks of a celestial being, why are you comparing yourself to him? Besides, you’re not bad yourself."
"Really? Am I handsome?" Austin White childishly lifted his face, striking a pose for Irene Rowe.
"Handsome, in my heart, you’re the handsomest." Irene Rowe gave him a resolute look.
The two had been dating for almost two months now. Initially, Austin White only showed his childish side in front of Seraphina Sinclair, but now he was even more childish in front of Irene Rowe.
Indeed, this is the power of love.
At first, he worried that Irene Rowe might prefer more mature men, but after spending some time together, he realized she didn’t seem to mind his childishness.
Irene Rowe helplessly patted Austin White’s face; this big boy was just too adorable.
Others watching the couple’s loving interaction couldn’t help but exclaim in surprise. Not to mention Austin White, even others couldn’t imagine Irene Rowe would fall for this ’young grass.’
Being used to the attention, Irene Rowe was no longer shy and confidently held onto Austin White’s arm, raising an eyebrow and smiling at everyone: "What’s there to see? If you’re envious, get yourselves a young puppy too."
"No, no." Rosalie Quinn quickly waved her hand and instinctively held Simon Finch’s hand, "My Simon is enough for me."
The others, only Seraphina Sinclair and Desmond Fairchild were couples, and they exchanged a knowing smile without saying a word.
As for Camille White, the singleton, he was long accustomed to it.
He had never really been interested in dating, so even if those around him were deeply in love, he didn’t feel the urge to find a girlfriend.
However, that didn’t stop him from scaring Austin White.
He casually said, "According to data, women like Irene with her personality are often interested in younger guys, but it’s usually just for fun. Over time, they realize that mature men are more reliable."
"Number three, what nonsense are you talking about? Irene isn’t like that." Austin White unhesitatingly retorted, convinced that his Irene wasn’t a girl who would easily change her affections.
"I’m just quoting data from the internet. You’re getting anxious because you think Irene is one of those women?" Camille White crossed his arms and sat calmly in the chair, leisurely watching Austin White, "Turns out you don’t have much confidence in Irene?"
Austin White gritted his teeth, realizing Camille was toying with him again, clenching his fists angrily: "That’s not what I meant."
Camille White’s expression remained unchanged, but a playful glint flashed in his eyes: "Oh? Then why so anxious?"
