Unexpected Marriage: She is the Sugar Mommy!
Chapter 279: Trading Barbs
CHAPTER 279: CHAPTER 279: TRADING BARBS
This is indeed quite impressive.
At the moment Seraphina Sinclair saw her, Nina Kerr’s mind flustered, and she immediately let go of Ian Lynch’s hand.
"Seraphina, you came out shopping too?" Nina smiled slightly, recovered her composure, and naturally introduced, "This is Ian Lynch, he’s like a brother to me."
A brother?
Upon hearing this term, Rosalie Quinn and Fiona Dunn, hiding in the shadows, couldn’t help but secretly ridicule.
"A brother? That’s hilarious."
"Exactly, a brother can be that intimate, holding hands like that? Lying without turning red or skipping a heart beat, she’s really something."
"Shameless." Fiona Dunn felt the urge to spit at her.
Seraphina Sinclair looked at Ian Lynch, then at the zero distance between the two, her lips gently curling, "It shows, you two have a great relationship."
Seeing Keith Hughes, Ian Lynch instinctively parted a little from Nina Kerr and greeted Keith with a smile, "Young Master Hughes, what a coincidence, are you out shopping with your girlfriend?"
"It’s none of your business." Keith Hughes’s indifferent gaze swept over Ian Lynch, seemingly unfamiliar with him.
"This..." Ian Lynch was surprised by Keith’s direct coldness, which made him a bit awkward.
Seraphina Sinclair now remembered Nina Kerr, recalling her prior instigation of Yuna Tate to harm her, her gaze hinted at some danger.
However, she understood that now wasn’t the time to deal with Nina Kerr; today was primarily about helping Keith Hughes choose a gift, and she didn’t want to unnecessarily cause conflict with Nina Kerr.
Yet, Nina didn’t seem to think so; seeing Seraphina and Keith talking and laughing, she looked somewhat delighted, "Seraphina, who’s this with you? Your boyfriend?"
"Whether he’s my boyfriend or not, what does it have to do with you?" Seraphina genuinely didn’t want to talk to Nina, especially as she’d been in a bad mood lately and couldn’t be bothered with her nonsense, choosing to confront her directly.
"Why are you so mean, sister? I’m just asking, there’s no other meaning, don’t overthink it," Nina Kerr was startled by Seraphina’s tone.
Seraphina couldn’t stand her pretentious demeanor; she frowned and said to Keith Hughes, "Let’s go."
But Nina Kerr clung to the two, looking pitiful, "Seraphina, do you really hate me? I’m just trying to understand your relationship, no need to be so cold."
"Nina, if someone gives you face, the best is to accept it, don’t act shamelessly, got it?" Seraphina wasn’t blind; even if Nina masked it well, she couldn’t miss the flash of desire in Nina’s eyes upon seeing Keith Hughes.
She had long known what kind of person Nina was.
Whether it was Desmond Fairchild or Keith Hughes, Nina wanted only to steal everything from her.
Importantly, she had no immunity to quality men; she’d get close to any handsome guy, like attending today with Ian Lynch.
Many might not know these things, but Seraphina understood.
On the surface, Nina appeared pure, but she had had multiple abortions for several men.
Yet, Nina didn’t know Seraphina had thoroughly investigated her past, now even harboring inappropriate thoughts toward Keith Hughes.
The more Seraphina looked at such women, the more disgust she felt, her words growing harsher: "You think you’ve won since I haven’t troubled you for what you’ve done?"
"Seraphina, I truly don’t know what you’re talking about," Nina Kerr blinked innocently, with tears in her beautiful eyes, looking terribly aggrieved.
"You know what you did inside. I’m just telling you I won’t let it go," Seraphina thought of her recently lost child, and her hatred for Nina deepened, "Since you insist on opposing me, if anything happens later, don’t blame me."
Nina Kerr backed away two steps fearfully, "Sister, what did I do wrong to deserve your blame?"
Keith Hughes, unable to bear watching any longer, showed a disdainful expression toward Nina’s false face: "Listen, lady, at your age, stop pretending to be young, ok? Your crow’s feet can’t be covered by all that powder. Stop acting like a white lotus."
Keith’s sudden comment left everyone stunned.
He usually maintained a gentle, puppy-like demeanor, especially in Seraphina’s presence, very cute and sweet.
No one expected him to be so sharp-tongued in arguments, as if he received true transmission from Seraphina.
"Awesome!" Fiona Dunn, squatting by the flower bed, couldn’t help but give Keith a thumbs up, "No wonder he’s Professor Hughes, he’s impressive when he gets serious."
"What’s your Professor Hughes like?" Rosalie Quinn couldn’t help but be curious, knowing Keith’s demeanor was quite different from what he showed with Seraphina, but what was he really like normally?
Fiona Dunn shook her head: "Professor Hughes’ personality is beyond us ordinary people to understand; outsiders view him as well-mannered, but actually, he’s not. At school, some girls were directly reduced to tears by his scolding; his words are famously venomous. However, he can also be incredibly aloof, not speaking a word. His personality might shift based on the weather; no one can see through who he really is."
Is he really so complex?
Rosalie Quinn frowned.
Can Seraphina Sinclair handle someone so multifaceted as Keith Hughes? Initially thinking of matching them wasn’t bad, but now pondering which side of Keith is his true self leaves them unable to distinguish, what if they lead Seraphina back into a pit of fire?
"But despite his varying personality, Professor Hughes is undoubtedly a good person, because handsome people usually aren’t too bad at heart," Fiona Dunn clenched her fists, blindly cheering for Keith Hughes.
"Idiot." Rosalie Quinn gave her a glare and continued to watch the scene.
After Keith’s verbal attack, Nina Kerr’s eyes immediately turned red, "Sir, did I somehow offend you? How could you say such things?"
"I probably know why," Seraphina said, pretending to be serious, "You must have disgusted him."
Pfft!
Rosalie Quinn and Fiona Dunn couldn’t contain their laughter behind them.
Seraphina’s comment was too funny for them to hold in their laughter.
Hearing the laughter clearly from behind, Seraphina helplessly called toward the flower bed, "Been following long enough, why not come out?"
Rosalie Quinn didn’t expect Seraphina had realized they were tagging along, she could only drag Jude Sinclair’s hand and walk out, "You should’ve told us you noticed, had me crouch until my legs went numb."
"Rosalie?" At the moment of seeing Rosalie, Nina’s beautiful face showed a crack.
That’s right.
Rosalie was entirely Nina’s nemesis.
Though Rosalie’s visits to Diamond Island weren’t frequent, each time she’d torment Nina intensely.
Because Nina always cared about appearances, pretending to be noble in public, and Rosalie, with her disregard for image, constantly challenged her.
