Unexpected Marriage: She is the Sugar Mommy!
Chapter 51: The Sky-High Price of Twenty-One Million
CHAPTER 51: CHAPTER 51: THE SKY-HIGH PRICE OF TWENTY-ONE MILLION
When Shirley Lynch heard Desmond Fairchild’s bid, she was so infuriated her teeth were clenched. Desmond bidding was definitely to buy it for that shameless woman, Seraphina Sinclair. The past humiliation still lingered in her heart; she must erase it completely!
Shirley Lynch shouted, "Nineteen million!"
The crowd couldn’t help but gasp at the bids from both sides.
This diamond, though a pink diamond, is indeed rare, but because it’s not particularly large, you could get it on the market for a high price. Reaching eighteen million is considered the ceiling; this overt price isn’t about auctioning, it’s about spite!
Seraphina Sinclair raised her head and signaled Desmond Fairchild to lift the sign: "Twenty million."
"Twenty-one million!" Shirley Lynch continued to bid, this time only adding one million.
After all, spending over twenty million on a pink diamond was a bit of a stretch for her, too.
Desmond Fairchild was about to continue raising the bid, but Seraphina Sinclair grabbed his wrist.
Desmond looked at her puzzled: "You don’t have to worry about money, I have some savings on my side..."
Before Desmond could finish speaking, Seraphina Sinclair shook her head, cast a glance toward Shirley Lynch, and said with a look of watching a good show, "This diamond isn’t worth twenty million; whoever likes to spend that foolish money should go ahead. We won’t."
Seeing Seraphina Sinclair’s sly smile, Desmond Fairchild shrugged and put down the sign.
He remembered that they had a similar pink diamond at home, only bigger. If Seraphina Sinclair liked pink diamonds, he might as well bring it home for her sometime.
"Twenty-one million, first time."
"Twenty-one million, second time."
"Twenty-one million, third time."
With the three calls for bids, the host finalized it with a thump and exclaimed, "This is the highest price we’ve auctioned tonight, congratulations to Miss Lynch for obtaining the pink diamond!"
Shirley Lynch successfully snagged the pink diamond, looking down her nose at Seraphina Sinclair not far away, her pride practically soaring.
Even if Desmond Fairchild likes her, what does it matter?
Even if Desmond Fairchild is married to her and has a son, what does it matter?
He didn’t want to spend money to buy her the pink diamond she liked, and ultimately, it ended up in her own hands.
Seraphina Sinclair met Shirley Lynch’s gaze and only shot her a disdainful look, then stopped looking her way.
The auction didn’t produce anything else remarkable; Seraphina Sinclair wasn’t interested, but she didn’t leave early, staying until the end.
The auction ended quickly.
Buyers rose and walked toward the host’s platform. Passing by Seraphina Sinclair, Shirley Lynch couldn’t resist letting out a smug laugh.
The charity auction proceeds would be used for public welfare and charity, with buyers and sellers jointly receiving awards from the charity organization on stage.
Just as Shirley Lynch steadied herself on stage, she saw Seraphina Sinclair following her up.
Shirley Lynch sneered, "You didn’t buy anything, yet have the nerve to stand up here. Even if you’re with Desmond Fairchild, what does it matter? You can’t even get a pink diamond despite scheming?"
"Is that so? It seems Miss Lynch is very satisfied with this pink diamond?" Seraphina Sinclair spoke calmly, her tone betraying no emotion.
"Of course, satisfied." Shirley Lynch responded without thinking. This was something she snatched from Seraphina Sinclair; how could she be unsatisfied?
"Since you’re so satisfied, why don’t you settle the payment then? Twenty-one million, swipe your card." Seraphina Sinclair continued.
"What?" Shirley Lynch froze at Seraphina Sinclair’s words.
"Of course, the money for the pink diamond you bid on. Are you planning to back out in front of everyone?" Seraphina Sinclair laughed, her eyes showing a hint of pity.
