CHAPTER 59: CHAPTER 59: OUTSMARTING ACE

The man seemed to hear the sound of the door opening and turned around to see Desmond Fairchild appear. He immediately bowed respectfully, "Young Master."

Desmond let out a soft hmm, then pushed Jude Sinclair forward: "Ace, this is the person you’re confronting today. Take it seriously, but stop at the appropriate moment. Do you understand?"

Ace was stunned, looking at Jude, who wasn’t even as tall as his leg, and didn’t understand Desmond’s intention for a moment.

"Young Master, is this?"

"Just go ahead, don’t consider too much, stop at the appropriate moment."

Since he was brought by the Young Master, he certainly wouldn’t be simple.

Ace quickly restrained any improper thoughts and prepared to make a move, with his palm facing upwards, waving Jude to come: "Come on."

Jude not only showed no sign of fear, his eyes sparkled with excitement, and without giving Ace any chance to react, Jude assumed a starting pose and rushed towards him at great speed.

Jude cleverly understood that his current strength was no match, so he began a battle of endurance using his petite stature.

The advantage of being a child is high energy, and every time Ace was about to catch him, Jude could easily escape by using his short stature to his advantage.

After the two had been in a stalemate for about half an hour, beads of sweat began to seep from Ace’s forehead, and his breathing became slightly labored.

Jude observed this and knew it was about time. His pace quickened a few notches, and when Ace made a wrong move, Jude quickly leaped onto his back, wrapping his arms around his neck with some force.

"I concede." Ace knew his limits well and said, gesturing surrender with his hands.

Jude cooperatively released him, jumped off, and returned to Desmond’s side.

Desmond’s eyes were full of approval, and he didn’t forget to reach out and ruffle his head a few times.

"Well done, let’s go."

The father and son returned to the entrance of the base. During this time, Jude was pondering about Ace calling Desmond "Young Master" and didn’t even notice when Desmond stopped walking.

Desmond noticed his wandering thoughts and deliberately did not remind him, waiting until he bumped into Desmond’s chest and staggered back a few steps.

Jude rubbed his slightly sore nose from the collision, complaining softly, "Dad, why didn’t you remind me?"

"Did you learn your lesson?" Desmond retorted with a question instead of answering.

His words immediately made Jude understand the intention. Feeling his nose no longer hurt, he lowered his hand and nodded.

"From the earlier practical contest, you indeed have been studying diligently recently. Today you can’t be lazy either, in a few days I’ll take you to try weapon dismantling. Dad now has to discuss work matters with Mom."

Jude was far more mature than other children his age and didn’t play much with Desmond. After seeing him off, he turned and went back inside.

However, his curiosity only grew. Before, he thought Desmond had sent him to this learning base, where there were children of different age groups. Perhaps it was a specialized institution, but now it seemed otherwise.

He could open the secret base door with his fingerprint, and the people inside seemed to respect him, indicating this Dad was no simple character.

Desmond parked the car not far from the Kevin Group. After getting off, he used the pretense of the Fairchild Group to successfully reach Seraphina Sinclair’s office floor.

"Just you?" Seraphina asked in surprise.

She had not expected the Fairchild Group would so easily send a newcomer to discuss such an important cooperation. Before, with Quentin Jennings supervising, she would be a bit reassured, but now...

Desmond seemed to see through Seraphina’s concern and said calmly, "Quentin has already explained the key points and potential areas of caution. He’s preoccupied with matters on his end, so I came alone."

Desmond’s acting was flawless, without any break.

Seraphina was only slightly reassured upon hearing this.

She temporarily closed the file in her hand, got up, went to the side of the sofa, and gestured for Desmond to sit down, then the two began discussing according to their respective projects.

After about an hour, Seraphina smiled and had someone bring in the contract.

She had not expected Desmond to answer her every query perfectly, and even proposed ideas she hadn’t thought of yet.

"No problem, let’s sign the contract."

Seraphina was very satisfied with this negotiation and had significantly changed her view of Desmond, who once worked as a public relations officer.

The two signed their names on the contract very smoothly. Once he closed the contract, Seraphina suddenly realized something.

With a somewhat complex look, she pointed to the contract and said, "Is it really okay to have your name signed on there? You haven’t been promoted yet, have you?"

"It’s only a matter of time. With this contract, it will accelerate my promotion process."

With that remark from Desmond, Seraphina didn’t say much more.

It’s better than serving other women, and her precious son wouldn’t go astray.

Desmond wanted to stay with Seraphina for a while longer, but seeing she had other things to attend to, he didn’t want to disturb further, so he got up and said, "I’ll go back and submit the contract now."

"Okay."

Seraphina saw him off to the staircase. Once the lift doors closed, she returned to her office. Just as she was about to sit back in her office chair, she heard Irene Rowe standing next to the door that hadn’t been hastily closed and lightly knocked twice.

"BOSS, President Lloyd of the Lloyd Group wants to see you."

Hearing this, Seraphina paused, then frowned immediately.

Ethan Lloyd? What’s he coming to see her for?

Irene could see Seraphina’s reluctance and, after a brief thought, spoke, "Shall I find an excuse to send him away?"

Seraphina came to her senses and shook her head slightly, "Let him in."

She was curious about what Ethan Lloyd wanted.

Hearing this, Irene opened her mouth, originally intending to say something else, but seeing Seraphina bow her head and ignoring her, she swallowed her words, turned around, and left.

A few minutes later, the office door was knocked lightly again, and Seraphina looked up.

Ethan Lloyd was standing in front of her, the obsession in his eyes unhidden.

So many years had passed, and Seraphina had changed a lot from before; alongside her beauty, she now emanated a more mature charm.

Seraphina’s brow furrowed slightly, and she cleared her throat to remind Ethan to mind his state.

Ethan snapped back to reality at the sound of her cough, realizing his slip, and awkwardly chuckled twice, then stepped forward a few steps towards her.
