CHAPTER 60: CHAPTER 60: PLAYING THE EMOTIONAL CARD

"Seraphina, I didn’t expect such a big change in you, I almost didn’t recognize you the last time we met."

Seraphina Sinclair felt her disgust deepening as he tried to get close. Her tone turned a bit colder, "Ethan Lloyd, we’re not that acquainted, are we? Why are you here looking for me?"

"Seraphina, do you really have to be so cold to me?" Ethan Lloyd’s expression was a bit hurt.

Seeing Seraphina not intending to respond, he quickly switched to a look of deep affection and moved closer, intending to hold her hands, but she dodged.

He looked down at his empty hands, then feigned casualness as he retracted them, deeply gazing at Seraphina, saying, "Seraphina, after I admitted you to the mental hospital, I realized my feelings for you. But by the time I wanted to bring you back, there had already been a fire, and I really thought you had...."

Ethan paused, seemingly choked with sadness. After a few seconds, he came back to his senses and continued, "When I saw you again, you have no idea how happy I was. But what happened last time, I don’t even know why it turned out that way. I was very upset too, so I came to find you whenever I got a chance..."

This time, before he could finish, Seraphina could no longer bear it and interrupted.

"You’re here to try to make Kevin Group cooperate with the Lloyd Group, aren’t you?"

Ethan Lloyd’s face turned a bit unsightly when Seraphina directly exposed his intentions, but luckily he quickly recovered.

He slammed the table heavily, raising his voice, "How could that be! Seraphina, is that really how you see me?"

Facing Ethan Lloyd’s questioning, Seraphina just smiled without speaking.

Besides, when she married into the family, the Sinclair Group merged with the Lloyd Group. Now that the Sinclair Group was still in his hands, she had to take back what was hers.

Ethan Lloyd saw Seraphina’s silence and thought she still had feelings for him. Secretly delighted, he decided to advance more aggressively.

"Seraphina, please give me another chance. I won’t let you down this time, okay?"

When Seraphina came back to herself, all she saw was Ethan Lloyd looking at her with eyes full of deep emotion.

She resisted the urge to kick him away, raising a faint smile, "Trying to win me back? Aren’t you afraid Melanie Lloyd wouldn’t agree?"

At this mention, Ethan hadn’t even considered Melanie’s feelings, especially since she was still locked away. She wouldn’t know what he was doing now.

But stabilizing Seraphina was the urgent matter at hand. He collected his thoughts and spoke seriously, "I will explain everything to Melanie. Back then, it was all her seduction. I was deceived by her appearances and didn’t expect her to be such a woman!"

Seraphina almost burst out laughing looking at him like this.

Back then, he was willing to place blame on her for Melanie, and now, it seems, fate has turned.

"I believe you had your difficulties back then, but I can’t accept it at the moment. Let me think it over thoroughly before responding."

Seeing Seraphina relenting, Ethan thought his strategy had succeeded, his face lighting up with a smile. He wanted to step up and hug her but held back seeing her somewhat resistant expression.

"After all, I owe you too much. I understand. Whatever you want me to do to make it up to you, I will, Seraphina. I’m sincere."

"You should go back. I’ll think about it carefully." Seraphina sighed, feigning a helpless look, though deeply nauseated by Ethan Lloyd.

Ethan nodded and left, full of joy.

However, he didn’t notice that after he left, Seraphina’s eye darkly fixed on the direction he departed, muttering, "You indeed owe me a lot."

After work, returning home, Seraphina saw Desmond Fairchild and Jude Sinclair playing a handheld game together on the couch.

The warm scene in front of her filled her heart with warmth.

"You’re back, Jude, go wash your hands and eat." Hearing movements, Desmond turned his head and then set the controller down, speaking to Jude.

Jude obediently headed towards the washroom as the two went to the dining table and waited.

The three of them ate peacefully as a family, and Seraphina suddenly felt that this wasn’t too bad.

The evening passed extremely peacefully, but for Seraphina, it was incredibly precious.

The next morning, Seraphina was awakened by the searing sunlight outside. She slowly opened her eyes, and the first sight was the handsome face of Desmond Fairchild.

She had to admit, Desmond Fairchild’s skin was quite perfect, with not a pore visible, and his features were very delicate.

"Mesmerized by me?" Desmond suddenly opened his eyes, teasing with a smile.

Seraphina didn’t expect to get caught, momentarily stunned, turning beetroot red when she came back to her senses.

"Wh-why are you in my bed again?" Seraphina stammered, turning her back to him.

Desmond chuckled, "Take a good look at where you are."

Seraphina looked carefully and realized she was in Desmond Fairchild’s room!

"H-how did I end up here?"

"You sleepwalked over last night. I almost thought you were throwing yourself at me." Desmond curved his lips, explaining.

Yet Seraphina was perplexed, never having such a sleepwalking habit before, especially when she slept with Jude.

"I’m going back to change and have breakfast." Seraphina, face flushed red, hurriedly ran out.

After breakfast, Desmond took Jude to the kindergarten under the guise of doing so before heading to Cloudsea Group.

In a flash, it was lunchtime. Desmond organized his files and handed them to the assistant to print, thinking Seraphina might not have had lunch yet and drove to Kevin Group.

As he held the Cloudsea Group partner status, he smoothly reached Seraphina’s floor.

He knocked twice on the door and heard a faint voice inside, "Come in."

Seraphina glanced at the time, realizing it was already mealtime, and spoke without looking up, "Irene, I’m not hungry yet. I’ll eat once I finish this work, you don’t have to worry about me."

"I knew you wouldn’t eat properly." A deep male voice drifted into her ears.

Seraphina was taken aback, pausing in her actions, and raised her head surprised at Desmond Fairchild’s appearance, "Why are you here?"
