CHAPTER 61: CHAPTER 61: SENDING FLOWERS

"I’ve been thinking about you, so I came to have lunch with you," Desmond Fairchild said with a faint smile.

Seraphina Sinclair blushed slightly, "Is this you skipping work? Can you make it back to the company later?"

"It’s fine, it’s just for a little while."

"Alright, wait for me a moment," Seraphina nodded, feeling a bit sweet inside. She tidied up her things and went out the door with Desmond Fairchild.

As the two of them got off the elevator and walked outside the company, they saw an unexpected guest leaning against a car door not far away, holding a large bouquet of flowers.

Ethan Lloyd saw Seraphina Sinclair appear, and a smile immediately spread across his face. He quickly stepped forward, but when he got closer, he noticed Desmond Fairchild’s presence.

"Seraphina, are you busy?" Ethan Lloyd asked cautiously.

"Going for lunch, do you want to join?"

Seraphina Sinclair flashed a bright smile and asked Ethan Lloyd.

Upon hearing this, Ethan Lloyd broke out in a cold sweat.

Having lunch together with Desmond Fairchild? He wouldn’t dare even if he had ten times the courage.

"No, this flower is for you. You guys enjoy your lunch; I have some matters back at the company," Ethan Lloyd made up a random excuse and got into the car to leave.

Desmond Fairchild glanced at the bouquet in Seraphina Sinclair’s arms, finding it increasingly glaring.

He straightforwardly reached out to snatch the bouquet away and tossed it into a nearby trash can.

Watching this, the smile on Seraphina Sinclair’s lips deepened, and she teased him, "Jealous?"

"You are the mother of my child; being with disreputable people isn’t good for the child’s upbringing," Desmond Fairchild said, his face clouded.

On the other side, Ethan Lloyd received a call from Melanie Lloyd and drove directly to the police station.

Melanie Lloyd had been detained for half a month and had suffered quite a bit, standing inside looking disheveled and waiting for Ethan Lloyd.

Ethan Lloyd saw her immediately and a bit of pain flickered in his eyes.

Once Melanie Lloyd walked over and sat in the passenger seat, she directly started complaining, "Ethan, why didn’t you get someone to get me out? Didn’t you say I shouldn’t worry, do you know how much I’ve suffered recently!"

Ethan Lloyd coughed lightly; being complained at wasn’t pleasant, but he still said, "I did try to find someone, but the people here were warned by Desmond Fairchild, so even throwing money at the problem didn’t work! You’ve been wronged these past days, I’ll take you out for some shopping when we get back."

Melanie Lloyd still felt some resentment, but hearing Ethan Lloyd say this, her expression improved, but her hatred toward Seraphina Sinclair intensified.

Why could she, a divorced woman with a bad reputation, still snag that kind of a catch?

She could ruin Seraphina Sinclair’s life in the past, she could do it again now!

Melanie Lloyd smiled and pouted, "You’re the best, let’s go home. I’m dying to take a good shower, I feel like I reek!"

Ethan Lloyd breathed a sigh of relief when she let it slide, fearing still that Melanie Lloyd would keep asking more questions, he quickly started the car to leave.

During Melanie Lloyd’s shower, Ethan Lloyd sat at the bedside, continually sending messages to Seraphina Sinclair, just to make his presence known.

Because he was so absorbed in doing so, he didn’t realize when the water had stopped running.

"Who are you messaging?" Melanie Lloyd’s sudden voice startled him, causing his hand to shake and his phone to fall to the ground.

"Just a client, the deal didn’t quite go through, and I’m trying again. You know the company’s current situation," Ethan Lloyd swallowed and said unfazed.

A client? A client requires such tension?

Melanie Lloyd’s eyes showed suspicion as she glanced at the phone still glowing on the ground, squinting slightly to make out the content.

Ethan Lloyd became tense seeing this, his breath quickening slightly.

Fortunately, the phone automatically dimmed and went blank, preventing Melanie Lloyd from seeing anything.

"Look at you, without clothes, if you catch a cold, what then? Go dry yourself off," Ethan Lloyd lightly urged Melanie Lloyd.

Melanie Lloyd scrutinized Ethan Lloyd for a good while but didn’t see anything amiss, so she no longer asked, turned, and left, drying her hair.

Once Melanie Lloyd didn’t come back, Ethan Lloyd quickly bent down to pick up his phone and, lacking the mood to check it, stuffed it into his pocket.

After lunch, Seraphina Sinclair urged Desmond Fairchild to return to the company.

Desmond Fairchild nodded, "I’ll come to pick you up tonight."

"Alright, let’s pick up Jude together," Seraphina Sinclair did not refuse and nodded in agreement.

Unexpectedly, as she got back to the company, Irene Rowe walked in with an apologetic face, "Seraphina, something’s come up at my house tonight, I’m afraid I can’t make it to the cocktail party."

"Alright, I’ll go then," Seraphina Sinclair nodded, stood, asked Irene Rowe to send her the location, and drove to the beauty salon for makeup.

Though it was just a cocktail party, the people here weren’t simple,

casually picking out one would likely be the president of some company, so at this time, it’s a great chance to meet people. Kevin just entered the market, naturally, attending is necessary.

After some time dolling up, Seraphina Sinclair told Desmond Fairchild not to pick her up and headed to the banquet alone.

Seraphina Sinclair already had a good foundation, and after a little touch-up, she instantly became the center of attention. However, what she didn’t expect was that the other two men she met with Desmond Fairchild at the bar were also at the party.

Felix Miller brightened up upon seeing Seraphina Sinclair, wanting to call her ’sister-in-law’ but held back.

Quentin Jennings had previously instructed him not to mention Desmond Fairchild’s marital status in front of Seraphina Sinclair, Felix Miller had asked why, and Quentin Jennings just laughed, saying it was a couple’s playful tease.

Most of the guests had arrived and the meal was about to begin when the banquet doors were pushed open again.

"Sorry, there was traffic on the way, I’m a bit late. I hope no one minds."

Seraphina Sinclair recognized the voice immediately, her heart skipped a beat, and she looked up to see Ethan Lloyd entering with Melanie Lloyd, both with smiles on their faces.

Although his words were apologetic, his eyes held no hint of repentance.

Seraphina Sinclair snorted quietly.

Professing undying love in the morning, only to bring Melanie Lloyd to the party in the evening, his version of sincerity was truly laughable.

Seraphina Sinclair was already aware of Ethan Lloyd’s nature and wasn’t surprised by his actions.

Several men sitting near the door gave his arm a quick pat, "It’s understood, go ahead and sit down; it’s hot outside, this is a good place to cool off with air conditioning."

After Ethan Lloyd and Melanie Lloyd sat down, Ethan took a glance around and unexpectedly spotted Seraphina Sinclair.

Ethan Lloyd’s smile froze for a brief moment before he started feeling uneasy.

He had sent so many messages at noon, and if Melanie Lloyd hadn’t noticed, it was pure luck. Now, sitting at the same table, if he said anything wrong, he would be exposed.

Thinking of this, Ethan Lloyd’s heart raced more, his throat swallowing involuntarily.

Melanie Lloyd’s gaze was fixed on Seraphina Sinclair, entirely unaware of Ethan Lloyd’s unease, as she was filled with hatred.
