CHAPTER 185: CHAPTER 185: SEE YOU TOMORROW, MY SAVIOR WIFE

Holly Crowe was left speechless by his barrage of analysis and counter-questions.

She opened her mouth, wanting to retort, but had nowhere to start.

This guy, is he really amnesiac?

Could he be faking it?

Why does it feel like he’s lost his memory but maxed out all his scheming and flirting abilities?

Seeing her embarrassed and angry appearance, Blake Sinclair’s smile deepened.

He found himself thoroughly enjoying the process of exposing her facade step by step and watching her reveal her true emotions.

Just as he wanted to ask more, there was a knock at the door.

Holly learned her lesson this time; she didn’t open the door immediately but first peered through the peephole.

Standing outside was Aiden Jenson.

Why would he be here?

Holly glanced back at Blake Sinclair in the living room.

"Holly? Are you home?" came Aiden Jenson’s voice from outside.

Holly quickly walked back to the living room, met Blake Sinclair’s questioning gaze, and lowered her voice, "Could you hide in my room for a bit? Just for a while!"

Blake Sinclair looked at her face, clearly not wanting the person outside to see him, his eyes flickering with a hint of displeasure.

Was she so eager to hide him because of the man outside?

Holly pulled him towards the bedroom, opened the door, and pushed him in.

After closing the door, she went to open the front door.

"Aiden, why are you here?"

Aiden Jenson stood at the door, holding a bag of fruit, "I heard that Teacher Lennon and Uncle Crowe are both out. I thought I’d check in on you since you’re home alone. Why did it take so long to open the door?"

"I was in the bathroom and didn’t hear. Want to come in and sit?"

"No,"

Aiden Jenson smiled, "I just wanted to stop by and see how you’re doing. I heard President Sinclair has woken up."

"I’m doing well. He’s awake and slowly recovering."

Holly answered ambiguously, not telling him about Blake Sinclair’s amnesia.

"Good to hear he’s awake."

Aiden Jenson nodded, hesitated a bit, and still said, "Holly, let the past be the past. Don’t keep it bottled up and make things hard for yourself. If you need help, or just someone to talk to, you can always find me, I’m always here."

"I know, thank you, Aiden."

Inside the bedroom, Blake Sinclair’s brows furrowed.

Let the past be the past?

Don’t make things hard for yourself?

Always here?

These words, no matter how he listened, sounded grating.

Was this man a bit overly concerned about his wife?

A strong sense of possessiveness surged instinctively, wildly growing.

He instinctively glanced around the room, and finally, his eyes landed on the desk.

There, a document lay open.

A divorce agreement.

Outside the room, the sound of the door closing was quickly heard after Aiden Jenson didn’t stay long.

After a moment, there was a knock, and Holly’s voice came in: "He’s gone, you can come out now."

There was no response inside.

Holly waited for a few seconds, feeling uneasy, and knocked again, "Blake Sinclair?"

Still no response.

She opened the door.

Blake Sinclair stood with his back to the light, his tall figure casting a shadow on the floor.

He stood before her desk, back towards her.

And in his hand was the divorce agreement she had dug out a few days ago while sorting things, not yet dealt with.

Blake Sinclair heard the door open, turned, looked up, and gazed heavily at her.

The afternoon sun streamed into the bedroom.

He stood against the light, most of his expression shadowed, hard to discern.

But Holly felt the pressure emanating from him.

He raised the papers in his hand, gripping the edges slightly, making a faint noise.

"What is this?" he asked.

Holly’s heart sank, feigning calm, "You’re just amnesiac, not blind, the words are so big, don’t you recognize them?"

Blake Sinclair questioned, "Divorce agreement? Holly, you want to divorce me?"

Seeing him questioning with the divorce agreement, then recalling his earlier thorough analysis, Holly’s heart flared.

She simply went along with his words and fabricated, seizing the initiative: "As you can see."

"And it’s not just my intention. This was given to me by you before your amnesia. You wanted to divorce me."

But Blake Sinclair wasn’t as shocked as she had anticipated.

He casually flipped through the agreement, his gaze lingering on certain clauses, with a slight chuckle.

"Custody and visitation rights for children?"

He read the words aloud, lifted his gaze, and with a playful look in his eyes said, "I wasn’t aware that we have children to raise together?"

Holly: "!!!"

Blake Sinclair pointed to the barely noticeable watermark on the header of the page, "And what’s this?"

"Could it be that the top legal team of the Sinclair Group can’t draft a decent divorce agreement and would make such a basic mistake as using an online template without removing the watermark?"

Holly was speechless, her cheeks flushed red, wishing she could find a hole to crawl into.

This agreement was printed last time at Port Kallow and casually thrown into Director Lennon’s study.

A few days ago while tidying up, she saw it and was afraid Director Lennon might misunderstand, so she shoved it into her bag and brought it back to Beldon, intending to throw it away, but forgot due to busyness, and now he caught her red-handed!

"I... Where I got it from is none of your business! It’s just a draft, isn’t it?" She stepped forward trying to snatch it back.

But Blake Sinclair raised his arm, effortlessly dodging her hand.

Seeing her face glowing red, a faint hint of a smile flitted through Blake Sinclair’s deep eyes, though his expression remained serious.

He didn’t expose her flimsy lie further, casually tossing it on the desk and stepping towards her.

The distance instantly shortened.

His tall figure loomed over her.

"So,"

he lowered his head, "who exactly wants the divorce? Hmm?"

"Is it because I’ve lost my memory, that you find it troublesome, wanting to ditch this burden?"

His gaze was sharp, "Or is it because of... that ’Aiden’ before, making you eager to hide me away?"

Holly was forced to step back, pinned against the door panel, with nowhere left to retreat.

"Neither!"

She avoided his gaze, weakly retorting, "It has nothing to do with your amnesia! It has nothing to do with Aiden!"

"Really?"

He seemed to be talking to himself, or perhaps speaking to her, "So, even without anyone else, you still want to leave me."

His brow furrowed slightly, with a bitter smile, "It seems our previous issues are more serious than I imagined. Serious enough that even if I don’t remember anything, you still can’t stand being by my side."

This move of retreating to advance was done masterfully.

Putting himself in a passive position and shifting all responsibility to his pre-amnesia self, leaving Holly momentarily unsure of how to respond.

She opened her mouth, wanting to argue, to say "it’s not your fault," to say "there has been too much deception between us."

But looking at him now, clueless yet deeply troubled, those words were stuck in her throat, refusing to come out.

Could she accuse someone with amnesia of his past "crimes"?

Did she even want to be human?

"I..." Holly was at a loss for words, her momentum immediately faltered.

"Can you tell me then? What did I do in the past to make you so disappointed, to the point of wanting a divorce?"

Holly looked into his eyes, her heart filled with mixed emotions.

How should she respond?

"It’s all in the past. You don’t remember anything now, so saying this is useless."

"How could it be useless?"

Blake Sinclair refuted, his tone urgent, "If I hurt you in the past, even if I can’t remember it, I should know. Knowing would prevent it from happening again and allow for making amends."

He took a step forward, his gaze intense, "Give me a chance, a chance to get to know you again, and for you to get to know me again, okay?"

His words were earnest, his eyes focused, as if he truly was just an amnesiac husband eager to make things right.

Holly’s defenses, under his continuous emotional onslaught, gradually lowered.

She looked at the man before her, both familiar and unfamiliar.

Gone was the steady composure of before, replaced by a touch of vulnerability and stubbornness, this contrast made it hard for her to remain indifferent.

"I need time." She avoided his gaze, softly speaking.

Hearing this, Blake Sinclair secretly breathed a sigh of relief.

Needing time means no outright rejection, meaning he still has a chance.

"Okay."

He nodded, "I’ll wait. Take as long as you need."

"But before you give me the final decision, could you temporarily allow me to keep my status and rights as your husband?"

Holly looked at him, puzzled.

"For instance, letting me rightfully pick you up from work, bring you meals, or be there when you need me."

"Suit yourself."

A glimmer of light flashed in his eyes, but he quickly suppressed it, yet the slightly upward curve of his lips betrayed his inner emotions.

"Thank you. Then, this flawed divorce agreement is void."

With that, he took the divorce agreement from the desk, tore it into pieces, and threw it into the trash can.

Holly awkwardly turned her head, issuing a dismissal, "I need to rest now."

Saying so, she pushed him towards the door.

Blake Sinclair followed her force, but didn’t move.

Instead, taking advantage of her tugging posture, he slightly bent down, leaned close to her ear, and whispered, "Alright, I’m leaving."

His warm breath brushed past her ear, "See you tomorrow, my dear wife."
