"He didn't come out from the cave entrance," Su Kaicheng said. "Ding Lianshun escaped because the deepest part of the cave was already close to the mountainside. There's a water point there, dug by people during past mining activities as a source of underground water. When the cave exploded and collapsed, unable to escape, Ding Lianshun could only run deeper into the cave to avoid being buried by the rocks. Unexpectedly, he ran to the deepest part and, having no way out, jumped into that water source point."

"Wasn't it collapsed there?" Ye Qing asked in surprise. "But that doesn't seem right. Even if it wasn't collapsed, digging to rescue him would take months. How did he get out?"

"I told you, he didn't come out through the cave entrance," Su Kaicheng said. "That water point is connected with the underground water. And in North Hong, there's a lake, precisely formed by the underground water gushing out. Ding Lianshun followed the underground water flow downwards and surprisingly swam to that lake, eventually escaping from the lake."
