CHAPTER 304: 301. THE KAMINARI (2)

The woman’s long white hair was like a curtain of silk. Her white skin glistened under the light of the half moon.

Her kimono was trailing below her knees, showing a humongous cleavage.

The woman looked around, taking her time to analyse the place.

"Dragon, humans, werewolves, even a witch. What is going on here?" The woman asked, looking at Rameses.

Before he could answer, a torrent of voices reached his ears.

He turned around to see a bunch of people jumping into the scattered debris, wearing the same white kimono the woman had.

"Don’t mind them. I’m in a hurry..." She looked around, her eyes widened as she spotted a man walking towards them with sharp eyes.

The dark-skinned man wore a black combat uniform, different from his usual camp attire.

"I just wanted to stay inside to relax for a bit." The man snapped his neck, feeling a relief that soaked into his bones.

"What the hell are you doing here, Kami?" The man asked, frowning at the woman.

"Obsidian Drake himself. Working with humans now I see." The woman smiled, looking surprised to see this man.

"Old fox, you’re still as ugly as ever." Dian shook his head, walking past her.

His eyes caught the wall that was shattered and he looked back to her.

"Oh my god." He glared at her, clearly furious.

If not for the fact that he knew her, he would’ve commanded her to fix it herself.

"Do you two know each other?" Rameses asked, walking towards them.

His eyes weren’t fully focused on them and he was looking at the people that were walking around curiously.

"Oh yes." The lady licked her lips, putting a hand on Dian’s shoulder.

"We used to be friends." The woman giggled.

Swoosh!

A gust of wind suddenly swept the ground and Collins observed the place. His eyes were glowing a serpentine red and he glared at the wall, looking around for threats.

The woman looked at him with a calm gaze, analysing his powers.

"Are you the one that did this?" A voice came from her side and she frowned, looking beside her.

In that moment she leapt back, distancing herself by a few meters.

Dexter raised a brow, looking at her with confusion.

’What’s up with that kid? I couldn’t hear his footsteps or feel his presence at all.’ She swallowed, gritting her teeth.

Feeling countless eyes on her, she straightened her kimono and regained her composure, walking back to the newcomers.

"I am not here to waste time. My son was taken, I’m looking for him." The woman snapped her fingers, making the air heavy.

Everyone around her started to sweat, even Dexter felt it in his throat — it became difficult to breathe.

"Who are you?" He asked again, walking towards the woman with a frown.

"Old fox, stop this." Dian tapped her head with his hand and the woman was so stunned that she cancelled her ability.

"Dexter, Rameses, this is Kami, leader of the Kaminari clan." He breathed. "They’re a fox tribe that lives isolated from the rest of the world, so I’m also confused why she’s here looking for her child."

Dian turned around, looking at the woman. However, her gaze or attention wasn’t on them, she was looking at the Sunwalkers camp above.

"Wait, she said she’s looking for her child?" Dexter’s eyes widened in realization and he looked up too.

"How dare you?" The woman sounded enraged, she looked at Dian with gritted teeth and he frowned.

A blue flame appeared over her palm and Dian got ready to counter her.

"Wait! We didn’t take him. We saved him, he has been living with us ever since we found him." Dexter explained, a sweat drop sliding down his face.

His eyes were on the weird flame on her hand, the flame wasn’t the normal shade of blue — it was a lighter colour, almost invisible.

Just feeling the heat from where he stood made his spirit tremble.

He didn’t know what it was, but it would be better if he didn’t find out what that skill could do.

"You... Saved him." The woman glared at him.

Instantly, he felt a sharp pain in his head and he blinked. It was only for a second, but the pain lingered.

In that moment, a vampire fell from the skies, landing with Hex in his arms. The boy was surprised to suddenly be grabbed and taken down but then he saw the woman with them.

"M–mommy?" The boy ran towards her and the woman bent down to hug him.

Dexter let out an inward sigh. He didn’t know who the woman was really, but Dian put up his defence when facing her — she must be strong.

...

A while later, Dian, Kami, Rameses, and Dexter all sat in a private room.

They had finally talked about how her son fell into their hands, but he excluded the fact that scientists held him captive for a long time.

As for how Dexter knew who the child was, it wasn’t hard really. Hex was the only fox he knew, after all.

"So you humans gathered a lot of people and are now building this city as a new base?" Kami asked for clarification.

Rameses nodded.

"Yes."

The woman didn’t say anything other than that, looking at Dexter now.

"You were wondering who I am, boy?" She said in a low tone, smiling at him.

For some reason he felt his heart skip a beat when she spoke like that.

"I’m the founder of the Kaminari clan. We are an isolated fox tribe. Who are you?" The woman asked.

Dexter sat up, but then he felt a warm hand on his shoulder. That was when he realized that the woman wasn’t sitting anymore.

"I have met all the vampire counts, the king himself also. But I don’t know you." She whispered in his ears.

"Stop with your games, Kami." Dian glared at her, making her chuckle.

She appeared on her seat again, grabbing the glass of coffee on the table.

"You’re still no fun."

"And you’re still a bitch."
