CHAPTER 309: 306. CLASH OF THE TITANS (1)
The camp that was just silent a few seconds ago was in a rush. The people ran back and forth, new heavenly totems were being summoned, as if they were preparing for war.
"If it isn’t one, then it’s damn right close to it?" Collins said, sitting just on the edge of the Sunwalkers camp, observing the movement from above.
"I wonder if Dexter would be able to drag that old man back." Collins wondered, smiling to himself.
In the skies of Russia, Dexter’s black wings flapped, releasing a sound of blades cutting through air. He gazed down, seeing the ruined cities he passed by.
Beside him was Hannah in her demonic dragon form. She was looking ahead with a sad face.
Dexter smiled as he saw her so deep in thought. He knew what she was thinking about, of course—he’s not dumb.
"Why’s your face like that?" he asked with a smile, making her look at him with a bored look.
"Nothing."
"Really?" he probed.
"..." Hannah kept quiet, contemplating her next words.
"You’re..."
"You’re not going to leave me, are you?" She turned to him, stopping mid-air.
Dexter stopped a few meters away from her, looking at her with a shocked expression.
’I only left it to know how she’ll react, did she think I’ll leave her?’ He facepalmed.
"Come here." He moved towards her, embracing her.
"Why would you think I’ll leave you? You know me." He whispered into her ears, making her hug him back.
"She’s really beautiful," Hannah said, burying her face into his chest.
"You’re more beautiful. A lot of people would be uncomfortable with this form of yours, but it makes you prettier." He used his fingers to raise her chin, bending down and placing a kiss on her pink lips.
The sounds of their wings flapping in the silent skies filled their ears, along with the sounds of smooching lips.
A while later, they arrived close to the sea. There were a few creatures lurking around the shore, but those weren’t of concern to them.
Along the shores, there was an unsuspecting store sitting there. The roof looked like it was about to collapse.
Dexter landed in front of the wooden shack. Hannah arrived too, transforming back as flames danced around her.
Dexter walked over to the shack, tapping on the door in a specific rhythm.
In that moment, the door flew open, followed by a gust of wind that pushed Dexter’s long hair back.
"Come on."
Inside the shack, there was a swirling mass of energy that had a black hole in the middle.
Seeing the eerie-looking portal, Dexter didn’t show any expression and glanced around.
Inside the shack, there was a line used to hang clothes. There was also a wooden table of surprisingly fine quality and a few stools.
’They really made themselves at home.’ He chuckled, walking into the portal.
In the blink of an eye, he appeared somewhere unfamiliar. His eyes widened at the current situation.
"Try to hold it down!"
"I’m trying!"
A large creature that looked like an obese bull was struggling under the might of pitch-black chains conjured from magic circles on the ground.
MOOOO...!
Alexander gritted his teeth, muttering inaudible words. Instantly, he drew a full magic circle with the flick of his hand and pointed at the creature.
"Damn it, try to hold it still!" The man shouted at the young man that was in front of the bull, directly stopping it from stomping on him.
Henry and Alexander failed to notice the two people that just appeared in their little world, engrossed by their own chaos.
’I’m not sure I even want to know what’s going on?’ Dexter thought, glancing around.
This place had a strange air. It was strange altogether, really.
The island seemed to be a cut-off part of a land somewhere. The field was grassy and there was a whole forest on the other side.
A house stood in the middle of the grass field and the forest. And Henry and his father were in this grass field, trying to bind a creature that God knows where they got it from.
Hannah too was in disbelief, looking at the scene with a dumbfounded look on her face.
"Ignore, right?"
"Yup." Dexter agreed.
Alexander carved a symbol on the creature’s skin and then it began to emit a bright, red light.
All of a sudden, its head was cut off, falling to the ground with a heavy thud.
"My God." Alexander walked closer to the head.
It was as big as the head of a trailer. The bull had horns that were thicker than the average human.
"As expected from a sixth-class creature, it’s quite ferocious." Henry walked forward too.
Alexander turned to him, looking at him with an angry expression, as if he was about to burst with insults.
"Calm down now. I was distracted." Henry explained, rubbing his hand on his chest downwards as a gesture to tell Alexander to calm down.
"We would have gotten through this quickly, you damn brat! Get cleaning—!"
"Am I interrupting something?" Dexter’s voice cut into their conversation and Henry immediately summoned a circle over his hand.
"Oh, Dexter. It’s you." Henry relaxed, putting his magic away.
A sudden realization then dawned on him.
"Wait, Dexter. It’s you?" Henry walked over to him, and Dexter did the same.
They dapped each other up, smiling at the resulting sound effects.
"It’s good to see you’re still alive." Dexter said in a cheerful tone.
"Eh, are you working for my death, this dude?" Henry pointed at him, causing them both to chuckle.
"Ah, the princess herself." Henry bowed, making Hannah raise her chin with pride.
"Peasants like you should know when to bow now."
"Of course." Henry deepened his bow, seeing Hannah laughing.
"Now lick my foot."
"Nah, you’re going too far." Henry stood up, looking at her with disgust.
Both Hannah and Dexter laughed, looking at Henry’s expression.
"Ah, if it isn’t the unnatural vampire. I was wondering who Henry was talking to." Alexander stepped forward, passing Henry.
"What the hell are you scheming, old man?" Dexter hopped over a lump of meat that lay close to them and then gazed at the dead creature.
"Oh, nothing. Just a strengthening technique for spells. A cursed one, of course." Alexander smiled, his eyes gleaming as if he was looking at the greatest treasure he had ever seen.
"Should I know what it’s for?" Dexter asked, looking at the creature with a neutral gaze.
"Probably not. But what brings you here?" Alexander asked, turning to face Dexter.
Dexter turned around, seeing Hannah laughing at whatever joke Henry made, and he smiled.
"It’s time. The titans are coming. Jude suspects there to be a second-class creature leading the horde." Dexter explained, shaking his head.
Alexander couldn’t help but sigh.
Not long before all of this, he was just a prisoner for more than ten years. And now he was about to go and fight a war.
He had caused a war before, but not fought in one. And moreover, the foes they were going to be facing were probably the strongest on the planet.
"We might just be going to kill ourselves." Alexander mumbled, making Dexter laugh.
"Before the vampire king fed you blood, you weren’t even scared of death." Dexter chuckled, walking over to the others.
’I guess everyone’s changing, and so fast.’ Dexter thought, his red eyes meeting the ground.
His innocent girlfriend Hannah, who turned out to be born of dragons. Himself, who managed to get a connection to a sun god and a vampire.
He had something of a clan now. Vampires willing to follow him to the ends of the earth for his pleasure.
Back then, when Kila asked him to turn everyone in that camp into vampires, he thought that his work would be cut out for him—managing them and all that.
In fact, if he hadn’t changed them all, they wouldn’t have survived so many monster rushes.
Dexter grabbed Hannah by the waist, giving her a light smile.
"What happened?" she asked, a dimple showing on her cheek.
"Nothing."
With that, the four of them returned to the shores of the sea. The creatures close to the shack charged towards it as they all sensed spirit energy coming from within.
Skeletal hands emerged from the ground, grabbing the tails of the serpentine creatures.
Dexter and the others emerged from the shack, looking at the creatures.
They had yellowish scales, resembling the beach sand. The serpents were not much bigger than a full-grown python.
"Careful now. Triangular heads—they’re poisonous. Also, they’re seventh class, so they can definitely affect us." Henry stopped Dexter from getting too close.
With a snap of his fingers, black, solid shadowy spears materialized around the creatures.
Henry clenched his fists, stabbing the creatures multiple times in all directions.
’Looks like he’s gotten stronger too. I won’t have to worry about him much then.’ Dexter smiled, putting an arm around Henry’s shoulder.
"My friend, something just popped up in my mind as I observed you. Hehehe."
Henry immediately felt a chill run down his spine as he heard that.
"I hope it’s not some gay shi."
Dexter shuddered, feeling what he was about to say was turned against him before he even said anything.
"Bruh, what do you take me for? I’m actually wondering if YOU are gay."
