Chapter 298

The three Great Saints, having fled for their lives, finally reached the protective formations of the Yin-Yang Holy Land. Only then did they feel a faint sense of security.

“Third Brother, why were you running? Weren’t you the one seeking revenge?” asked one of the Great Saints, still catching his breath after the harrowing escape.

“I’m not ready to die yet!” snarled the Saint known as Tong Tian. “That disgrace of a son of mine had to provoke the Holy Son of Primordial? If he hadn’t already been killed by the Holy Son, I’d kill him myself!”

Tong Tian, a prominent Great Saint of the Yin-Yang Holy Land, was infamous for his strength. Yet, the prospect of avenging his son was now far from his mind. Instead, he wished he could strangle the child who had brought this calamity upon him.

“What kind of fool does it take to provoke someone like the Holy Son of Primordial? Does he want me to die a meaningless death along with him?” Tong Tian lamented.

“Your son truly has remarkable talent!” teased another Great Saint sarcastically. “The Holy Son of Primordial rarely sets foot on Eternal Mountain, yet your son still managed to provoke him. What impeccable timing!”

The group had heard of Tong Tian’s son—a notorious figure who, riding on his father’s coattails, had been a tyrant in the Northern Region. Now, his arrogance had finally led to his demise, and the repercussions were severe.

“What should we do now?” Tong Tian asked anxiously, his earlier resolve shattered. “The Holy Son of Primordial is said to be vengeful and spares no one who offends him. If he comes after me, will the Holy Land be able to protect me?”

His anxiety was not unfounded. Stories of the Holy Son’s ruthlessness were legendary. Even ancient supreme clans had faced ruin at his hands, let alone a Great Saint like himself.

Another Great Saint sighed. “The Holy Land will abandon you if it means saving itself. You know this as well as I do. Your best chance is to go to the Primordial Holy Land, plead for forgiveness, and hope to quell the Holy Son’s wrath.”

Tong Tian’s face darkened. He understood the unspoken words: if the Holy Son targeted him, no one—not even the Yin-Yang Holy Land—would risk protecting him.

“I have no choice, do I?” Tong Tian muttered, his voice heavy with despair. He had long discarded any thoughts of avenging his son. In fact, he wished he could personally deal with the child who had brought this catastrophe upon him.

Meanwhile, back on Eternal Mountain, the Starry Saintess looked at Jiang Chen with awe.

“The deterrence of the Holy Son of Primordial is truly unparalleled!” she marveled. “With just a single breath of his aura, he sent three Great Saints fleeing for their lives.”

Her gaze lingered on Jiang Chen, admiration evident in her sparkling eyes.

“This kind of dominance is akin to that of an ancient Emperor,” she murmured, unable to contain her awe.

The Starry Saintess herself, despite wielding the prestige of the Star Palace, had failed to defeat the Yin-Yang Holy Land after days of battle. Yet Jiang Chen had managed to drive them off without lifting a finger. Truly, his power was unmatched.

Jiang Chen’s aura alone had terrified the Yin-Yang Holy Land, leaving them fleeing like frightened birds, desperate to escape his attention.

Such deterrence was beyond even the legendary True Dragon Clan. It was a level of dominance only ancient Emperors had achieved. In a sense, Jiang Chen now stood on par with those Emperors, his presence commanding respect across the Nine Heavens Realm and the Ten Lands.

Even the so-called immortal forces and ancient imperial clans would likely approach him with reverence—or flee at the mere mention of his name.

“Starry Saintess, there’s no need to undervalue yourselves,” Jiang Chen said with a faint smile. “If the Star Palace’s fully matured Star Physique emerges, it would wield the same level of deterrence.”

The Star Palace was far from weak—it simply kept a low profile. If it chose to display its strength, its influence would rival even the Primordial Holy Land. Of course, in terms of sheer power, it was still inferior for now.

Jiang Chen knew the Nine Heavens Realm concealed numerous hidden powers. While immortal forces dominated the surface, many ancient entities and reclusive experts remained in the shadows, biding their time. When

Once the so-called Immortal Road or Emperor’s Road opens, these ancient monsters would reemerge.

Though their numbers would be small, perhaps countable on one hand, their strength would be unparalleled. Each was a former pinnacle figure of their respective eras, most likely at the eighth or ninth step of the Quasi-Emperor realm.  –

“Great Accomplishment Star Physique?” The Starry Saintess and her protector were taken aback. They had no knowledge of such a powerful existence within the Star Palace.

“Holy Son of Primordial,” the Starry Saintess began cautiously, “you must be mistaken. Our Star Palace has never had such a being. If we did, why would we remain stationed beyond the stars instead of establishing dominance within the Nine Heavens Realm?”

She looked to her protector, a Great Saint of considerable standing within the Star Palace, hoping for clarification.

“Elder, do you know anything about this?”

The protector shook her head. “I’ve never heard of such a thing.”

Jiang Chen smiled knowingly. “It’s not surprising you don’t know. This is a secret known only to the Palace Masters of each generation. When you become the Palace Master, you’ll naturally learn of it.”

The Starry Saintess and her protector exchanged uneasy glances. How could Jiang Chen, an outsider, know such closely guarded secrets that even they were unaware of?

“Since this is supposedly a secret known only to our Palace Master,” the Starry Saintess asked cautiously, “how did you come to know about it?”

Jiang Chen remained calm. “How I know doesn’t matter. If you doubt me, you can confirm with your Palace Master after returning. I’m sure your Palace Master won’t hide it from you.

“The grand era is approaching, and your Great Accomplishment Star Physique will likely emerge soon,” he added casually.

The topic shifted abruptly.

“You’re here for the inheritance of the Eternal Emperor, aren’t you?” Jiang Chen asked with a faint smile. “Others may not know, but I’m well aware that your Star Palace possesses one of the Eternal Tokens.

“You’ve been coming here regularly, searching for the inheritance, haven’t you?”

These words visibly shook both the Starry Saintess and her protector. The Eternal Token was one of the Star Palace’s greatest secrets, known only to a select few. How could Jiang Chen possibly know about it?

Feigning calm, the Starry Saintess replied with a smile, “Holy Son, you may have been misinformed. The Eternal Token is shrouded in mystery, its whereabouts unknown.

“It’s said you possess one of the tokens, but as for the others, no one knows their location—not even us. We came here merely to try our luck.”

Her denial was firm; the importance of the Eternal Token made it impossible to admit the truth, lest Jiang Chen attempt to claim it for himself.

Jiang Chen chuckled softly. “You know the truth yourselves. I’ll leave you with a choice:

“If you admit to possessing the Eternal Token, I can help you open the path to the Eternal Emperor’s inheritance.

“If you deny it, then you’ll have to rely on your own luck.” He paused, his gaze sharp. “But there’s one condition—Zi Qingyan must accompany you inside.”
