Villain System: 10,000x Reward On Murder In The Apocalypse!
Chapter 61: Insane!
CHAPTER 61: INSANE!
The zombie was dead before it could move much.
There was no trace of joy on his face as he retrieved his blade from the head of the zombie and the wall. Flipping it, he cleaned the blood off and then scrutinized the edges of the blades.
The blade had chipped softly at a few parts of the knife. It was still very much usable but to Draziel, they were the same as imperfections that could hinder his combat ability.
He had meticulously calibrated his body to the size, shape and sharpness of the blade. If there were a few things changed, it would hinder his combat ability.
Although he was now a lot stronger than previously, which would render the calibrations he had made useless and unless he performed another calibration, his combat ability will never reach its full potential.
Which was why he had purposely repressed a bit of his strength during combat.
The nearby pillar exploded and dust rose up in the air. Grabbing a rough surface of concrete from the debris created, he began to sharpen his knives while he waited for the rest of the team to show up.
Abruptly, his ears twitched and a wide grin appeared on his face, making him look like a mad man. In that moment, a black tennis ball looking object flew out from the elevator shaft, heading towards Draziel with a weird curve that really impressed him.
Upon closer look, it was actually a bunch of grenades tied together as they headed directly for him.
The throw was accurate and the timing was perfect as the pins had all been pulled.
There might just be a second or two seconds for Draziel to react before the grenades reach him and explode.
But Draziel didn’t move, he was already within the radius of the blast and at very close proximity. Even with his incredible physique of ten points, he would still be blasted to shreds.
His hands suddenly reached for the throwing knives by his thighs and then he flicked his fingers.
Two blades pierced the air with a whoosh and slammed against the flying grenades, veering the projectile off course.
"BOOOOOOOOM!!!"
The entire ground floor shook as though another missle had just landed on earth once more.
Draziel was thrown backwards from the explosive force like a kite with no strings attached.
The kinetic energy running through his instantly transformed into potential energy as his back slammed into the escalator’s steps, crushing that segment flat in that instant.
Draziel’s back seem to have been with made elastic as they curled, bouncing against the escalator once more, the force bringing him back to his feet.
Dust, debris and smoke covered that part of the ground floor, obstructing Draziel’s sight from the elevator shaft, but his ears twitched lightly as he heard several people hopping out of the opened elevator shaft.
Rigid breathe escaped his mask, sounding as though he was inhaling and exhaling gas due to the filtration device installed in the gasmask.
His stomped his leg slightly and his body seem to have become as light as a feather, he then moved into the dust, out of sight.
One, two, four, seven. He counted the sounds of their footsteps and figured seven people hopped out of the elevator shaft.
The seven mercenaries cautiously gazed at their surroundings, their weapons pointed in all directions, aimed especially at the dust which was strtikh to settle down.
"Dina is dead."
One of them suddenly said, making the seven people gaze at the direction of the female corpse whose chest had caved in beyond saving.
Their expression turned even more solemn and cautious. They were well aware of Diana’s skills and strength.
With the exception of the chief and the captain, no one within their team could match her in skill strength and vigour.
Now for her to be lying here dead meant that the person who had done this to her and the others was obviously more skilled than her.
Suddenly, Mervyn; a special type of mercenary with an illegally hacked thermal sight program installed in his Bionic lens pointed towards a direction in the fog.
"He’s over there!"
The seven mercenaries didn’t need to to be told any more words as they pinter their rifles towards that direction and fired.
Af first, Draziel stilled his breathing within the cloud of dust and waited when he suddenly felt eyes on him. In that moment, he knew he had been spotted.
Immediately, he stretched out his hands and a pinkish elastic tissue elongated from his palm and latched onto the wall above elevator.
His body was abruptly jolted as though he had been fired by a catapult.
At the same time, sounds of bullets raining beneath him echoed as his body was been pulled.
Although the mercenaries only caught a glimpse of what had just passed over their head, but with their reaction speed they were able to quickly make sense of the information. It was the person that has just jumped over their head.
Instantly, they changed the direction of their weapons and started firing, following Draziel’s body almost closely, but they were still too slow.
Draziel retracted the tissue back into his palm and he started to dropp in between the seven people but one of them seem to possess high level of agility as he swapped his rifle for a pistol and aimed upwards at Draziel who was still in the air.
"BANG!"
There was no pre-aim as the bullet escaped the barrel, heading straight for Draziel’s skull.
A perfect head shot without pre aim! Draziel was impressed with the level of skill the mercenaries possess.
They had constantly surprised him with their skills.
Perhaps of they hadn’t met him, their team would be unstoppable within this new apocalyptic era. Sadly enough, they had net him before they could each their full potential.
