Villainous Me: Help! The heroines are yanderes!
Chapter 135: The Search for Master
CHAPTER 135: THE SEARCH FOR MASTER
Till this day, she sought her master—especially after the prophecy emerged, which made it devastatingly clear that her master... her beloved master... would be the end of them all if he wasn’t stopped. But what made her truly desperate was knowing he would reincarnate. She needed to know the truth: was it all just an elaborate plan from the very beginning, or had that emotion she felt from him that day—when he gently patted her head before he vanished—been real?
"Sighs... Elena... You have always caused the gods untold suffering since the first cataclysm by protecting him. I advise you to stop this obsession with master. You already know what kind of monster he—"
"Morael..." Just his name, spoken like a death sentence, and he froze in pure terror as he felt the divine energy escaping her control. It seemed this version of herself possessed her full power, unlike the weakened form from that erased future—the one who had reincarnated in her desperate quest to find her master, ending up diminished and frail. As if that hadn’t been punishment enough, she had sacrificed half her divinity to transform a mere human into a demigod. Yes, she had been extremely weak then, but even in that reduced state, she remained a problem for most gods. And there was still the gift from her master—that precious token he had bestowed upon her the day he took her in.
[A/N- To be clear, by erased future, they mean the timeline which was erased when Ryan went back in time, so that ’future’ no longer exists]
"Don’t call my master a monster," she said, her voice carrying the weight of cosmic authority. "I will only warn you once." Reality itself seemed to lose its grip, the very fabric of existence trembling at her barely contained rage.
Sweat trickled down Morael’s forehead as he struggled to maintain his composure. "Sighs... Elena... Fine. I will tell you what you wish to know."
Silence stretched between them, heavy with anticipation.
"You had given him something that drew the attention of all the gods—the relic that could make even a deity more powerful. They attacked in force. You were already weakened, but with that strange orb you always carried... you were able to fight back. But..." His voice faltered. "He was killed."
The entire realm began to tremble at her anguish.
"Calm yourself, Elena."
"Continue," she commanded, her voice deadly quiet.
"Owen stole his soul, foolishly believing master could be the hero mentioned in the prophecy. He wasted precious time trying to transform him into a full god, until it was too late. The ’Darkness’ absorbed everything."
"Where was I during all of this?" she asked, each word sharp as a blade.
"Killing gods in a desperate quest to find Owen. You all foolishly catalyzed our downfall. If only—"
"What about master?" She ignored his accusations, focusing only on what truly mattered to her.
"I don’t know. I cannot seem to ’see’ what transpired. Perhaps master doesn’t want me to know what happened on that world. But it was consumed by the ’Darkness’..."
Without another word, she turned and began walking away.
"Elena... Please, you must kill this love you harbor for master. He has to—"
"Don’t say it," she warned, not bothering to turn around, "or you won’t live to even ’see’ your own death."
He wisely held his peace.
"At least remember this truth," he called after her. "The ’One’ does not feel. Master was never what we thought he was." She stopped walking. "We were... are
only tools in his eyes, sources of entertainment. Send your avatar while you still can. This is our last and only chance to stop him."
....
....
"This is the room," said the woman dressed in an elegant black suit. Panic flickered across her refined features, but it was understandable given the armed men surrounding her—elite soldiers bearing the count’s personal seal. It seemed the handsome young man who had booked the room was indeed a dangerous criminal. At this point, she could only pray she wouldn’t be dragged into whatever chaos was about to unfold.
"Move aside," the captain muttered, signaling for her to step away so as not to alert whoever was inside.
One of his men positioned himself before the door, drawing his enchanted sword. Mana flowed into the blade like liquid starlight, causing it to hum with barely contained power. Without hesitation, he struck with devastating force.
BOOOOOM!
The reinforced door exploded inward, and the soldiers rushed through the breach, weapons ready.
"What in the—?" one of the men blurted out, his voice filled with confusion.
There, lying peacefully on the ornate bed and showing only the faintest signs of stirring from sleep, was the young lady they had been desperately searching for. Kneeling beside the bed, gazing at the intruders with wide, terrified eyes, was a strikingly handsome young man with pink hair. He held a silver serving tray balanced on his knee, clearly in the middle of attending to his charge.
"Who are you people?!" the servant cried out in genuine panic, his voice cracking with fear.
"What... exactly is happening here?" the captain asked, his tactical mind reeling with confusion. The scene before him made no sense. Was the girl not being held captive? Had they made a terrible mistake?
