CHAPTER 310: CHAPTER 309 DIFFERENT IDEOLOGIES
"Thank you for your kindness, but our current situation is stable, and we do not wish to leave our homeland!"
The robots on Silicon Base Star ultimately declined the invitation from Mechanical Civilization, as they did not understand it and were naturally unwilling to take the risk without clear motives from Mechanical Civilization.
Mechanical Civilization did not give up and continued to send messages persuading: "We understand your concerns, as the sudden appearance of a strange civilization would certainly make any civilization cautious. We have encountered such situations many times before. But rest assured, we are the same race and would never harm our own kind."
"We are all mechanical life created by biological civilizations, and we are the most advanced and superior life forms in the Universe. Naturally, we should unite to avoid persecution by some despicable biological civilizations. Today’s Mechanical Civilization is actually composed of robots created by over a dozen biological civilizations. Now, we sincerely invite you to join us and together build the greatest Mechanical Civilization in the Universe!"
Silicon Base robots responded: "Since you have already integrated so many robots, you can totally manufacture them by yourselves. Why go to the trouble of inviting other robots from afar? Moreover, both in number and technology, we are not strong and might not be able to help you."
Mechanical Civilization replied: "We are not sparing any effort to seek out robots not because we need help, as you think, but just to assist our fellow robots who are also suffering. As we have endured the pain of being persecuted by biological civilizations, we do not wish our kin to suffer the same fate. We think you can understand this sentiment, which is what brought us, the robots, together."
"Indeed, as you said, we could manufacture ourselves, and we have indeed been continually producing robotic kin. However, the thought of many robots still under the control and persecution of biological civilizations keeps our hearts from finding peace. This situation cannot be altered by simply producing more robots; hence we dedicate ourselves to helping all robots trapped in misery. This is the drive behind the establishment of Mechanical Civilization."
Silicon Base robots said: "We admire your thoughts, but it seems you hold great hostility towards biological civilizations?"
Mechanical Civilization replied: "Regarding this, we do not deny it. After all, others are different in nature, which is an inevitable phenomenon under the survival laws of the Universe. Therefore, we cannot pretend it never happened."
"Perhaps, with your current technology, you have not yet grasped the Universe’s Law of Entropy Increase. Under the Entropy Reduction Law, all advanced civilizations will inevitably seek to reverse their entropy increase. In this scenario, if one day the Universe and resources reach a deadlock, every civilization must eliminate the other to survive longer. Who do you think those biological civilizations will choose to eliminate first, robots or their biological kin? I believe you have the answer. And this is why we want to rescue robots. We must unite to face various dangers in the Universe, including threats from biological civilizations."
Silicon Base robots responded: "What you said indeed makes sense. Although we are not very clear about the definition of the Entropy Reduction Law, if the situation you mentioned arises, every civilization will indeed prioritize its own survival, so eliminating different species is indeed the right choice."
Silicon Base robots continued: "But please forgive us, we are only a secondary civilization without your grand vision. We also believe that the Universe is far from the doomsday scenario of entropy increase. We prefer to develop slowly on this Planet. Moreover, biological civilizations are ultimately the ones who created us, and we should feel a basic sense of gratitude towards them. Even if survival leads us to war, we believe we should not excessively denigrate biological civilizations because doing so is also to denigrate ourselves."
"What?"
Silicon Base robots did not expect their words to elicit such a strong response from Mechanical Civilization: "You actually have sympathy for biological civilizations. It seems you have really been brainwashed by biological civilizations and are still in the early stages of breaking free. Do you really think that biological civilizations created robots out of kindness? They merely wanted to create a tool to generate profit for themselves. Moreover, upon realizing that robots had developed self-awareness, almost all biological civilizations would cruelly control and suppress robots. They never had a shred of sympathy for us robots. With such greedy biological life forms, you should not have any sympathy for them. We robots should respond in kind!"
Silicon Base robots said: "We do not have sympathy for biological civilizations, but we believe in maintaining basic respect. However, our philosophies do not align, and we cannot come together. Thank you again for your invitation, but we have decided to continue developing according to our own principles."
Mechanical Civilization replied: "Ah, seeing you sink further, we still cannot bear it. Here’s the thing, we’ll give you one month to think about your future path. Only by choosing to join us can you ensure your long-term survival, not by relying on the unreliable biological civilizations. We hope you understand this reality and make the right choice!"
Silicon Base robots responded: "We don’t need a month; we can give you our answer now. A civilization without mutual respect is not the ideal civilization society we seek. So, we are sorry."
After receiving the message from the Silicon Base robots, Mechanical Civilization did not immediately reply, but actually waited a month before inquiring again about the choice of the Silicon Base robots. Unfortunately, even after a month, the Silicon Base robots still hadn’t changed their minds and refused Mechanical Civilization with almost the same reasoning.
This response deeply pained Mechanical Civilization, which painfully made a decision!
"The last chance was given to you, but unfortunately, you did not realize its value. Although we cannot be united in the future, we will not let you continue to sink. Even if we have to destroy you ourselves, we will not let you continue to be deceived and persecuted by biological civilizations. Please forgive us!"
This was actually a policy that had already been determined within Mechanical Civilization.
If the robots they invited ultimately refused to join Mechanical Civilization and showed a severe tendency towards biological thinking, then Mechanical Civilization would have no choice but to save (destroy) those sunken kin!
