CHAPTER 553: CHAPTER 552: FACTIONS SPLIT
"What do you mean? Didn’t you understand the content of our research? If necessary, we can provide a more detailed research report!"
The declaration of the Pure Element Asteroid Group left the Degenerate Civilization utterly baffled and at a loss.
They felt that they had elaborated so much on their research, only for it to fall on deaf ears—the Pure Element Asteroid Group simply wasn’t listening.
"To be honest, your research is too subjective. We can do without such reports. There are also great doubts about the practical effectiveness of the communist system. Of course, that’s not the most important issue. In the face of the Cosmic Crisis, a good civilizational system might not necessarily play a beneficial role. It’s akin to a special wartime period; what civilization and society truly need is a powerful War Machine System to help weather this unprecedented catastrophe!"
The Pure Element Asteroid Group concluded, "Judging from the ultimate goal, we, being the strongest, are undoubtedly the most suitable to lead all civilizations."
"What leadership? You want us to cooperate with you, just listening to your arrangements—plainly speaking, aren’t you just treating us like dogs?" The Degenerate Civilization understood the real intentions of the Pure Element Asteroid Group and their language became more sharp, aiming to expose the Pure Element Asteroid Group’s true thoughts bare and brutally in front of all civilizations.
At this point, the Wandering Alliance, led by Black Hole Lu Chen, made a statement: "Sorry, but we cannot be dogs!"
Even without the excessive remarks of the Pure Element Asteroid Group, the Wandering Alliance would not agree to use the civiliational system recommended by the Pure Element Asteroid Group because the Degenerate Civilization proposed the communist system they were more familiar with, and they would unconditionally support the communist system no matter what.
Of course, the Wandering Alliance never anticipated that the Degenerate Civilization would advocate for communism, nor that they would conduct such an in-depth study of their civilization.
The Pure Element Asteroid Group retorted, "Do you have to be so unpleasant in your words? Even if you have a secret agreement with the Wandering Alliance to promote their system, isn’t this too much? You say joining us is like being dogs, then wouldn’t adopting communism be like being dogs for you?"
These simple words shifted the Pure Element Asteroid Group from defense to offense.
Especially since the Pure Element Asteroid Group insinuated that the Degenerate Civilization was promoting communism because of a secret deal with the Wandering Alliance, it turned a selfless research effort into a dark scandal of inter-civilizational exchange of interests.
Following this, the Antimatter Civilization stated, "Degenerate Civilization, what you are doing is profiting from disaster. At a time when the Cosmic Crisis is intensifying, instead of genuinely thinking about how to survive, you are plotting how to swallow more benefits—it’s utterly shameless. Moreover, I want to remind each present civilization that our enemy is not each other, but the bounce-back flux. This is also an unprecedented special battle. We agree with the conception of the Pure Element Asteroid Group. At such a critical moment, we must have a powerful civilization to lead us out of the predicament."
"Therefore, we support the Pure Element Asteroid Group!"
In fact, the Antimatter Civilization knew very well whether the Degenerate Civilization was profiteering from disaster.
The reason they maligned the Degenerate Civilization was to help the Pure Element Asteroid Group seize the moral high ground.
While clashing with the Degenerate Civilization, the Pure Element Asteroid Group also communicated with the Antimatter Civilization, reaching an agreement. The Antimatter Civilization supported the civilizational system of the Pure Element Asteroid Group, and after the establishment of the level-five Alliance, the Pure Element Asteroid Group would prioritize the Antimatter Civilization in future benefit distribution.
It could be said that the real profiteers were the Pure Element Asteroid Group and the Antimatter Civilization.
Their unanimous stance was closely related to their systems and culture. Both the Pure Element Asteroid Group and the Antimatter Civilization societies were dominated by private ownership, with major technology corporations holding substantial influence over decisions in civilization. Thus, these factors influenced the decisions of the Pure Element Asteroid Group and the Antimatter Civilization. Since the Degenerate Civilization advocated for communism, if they agreed, it would mean that the wealth they had amassed over millions of years would become societal, public, and communal—so of course, they would never agree.
Due to different interests and ideologies, the present civilizations split into two camps.
The first camp consisted of the Wandering Alliance and the Degenerate Civilization, supporting communism, and the second camp consisted of the Pure Element Asteroid Group and the Antimatter Civilization, supporting the Pure Element System.
Now, with two level-five civilizations in each camp, their power was equal, creating a confrontation and balance. The only civilization that had not yet taken a stand was the Black Hole Civilization, and given the delicate situation at the moment, the choice of the Black Hole Civilization would significantly affect the current situation.
Therefore, whether it be the Wandering Alliance and the Degenerate Civilization or the Pure Element Asteroid Group and the Antimatter Civilization, they were all closely monitoring the Black Hole Civilization, waiting for its final decision.
After a moment, the Black Hole Civilization stated: "Actually, we, the Black Hole Civilization, think both sides have valid points, making it hard for us to choose. Therefore, we suggest you execute according to your own ideologies and see who will succeed in the end. Perhaps both of you might succeed?"
The Black Hole Civilization beat around the bush, essentially providing a lesson in the art of speaking, but in the end, their intention was to remain neutral.
The Pure Element Asteroid Group was somewhat displeased: "Do you think we don’t want to? If it were a peaceful time, we would definitely try our own methods. But in the midst of the Cosmic Crisis, as Cosmic Material is being diminished by the bounce-back flux, facing a situation where resources are becoming scarcer day by day, we have no choice but to come together; it is imperative to unite!"
The Black Hole Civilization responded: "However, after discussion, we concluded that neither of your ideologies suit the Black Hole Civilization; so, we prefer to remain neutral. Your factional disputes are your business; don’t involve us, we will find our own ways to get through this Cosmic Crisis!"
"Humph, such nice words. Aren’t you just waiting for both of us to be injured so you can reap the benefits of the fisherman?"
The Antimatter Civilization spoke directly: "We’re all level-five civilizations. Your little schemes can’t fool us. We cannot allow a neutral civilization to benefit from our losses in the end, so the Black Hole Civilization must make a choice. If you don’t choose, we will choose for you!"
"What do you mean?" The stance of the Black Hole Civilization turned cold instantly.
With confidence, the Antimatter Civilization said: "If you wish to profit as the fisherman, I think not only will we disagree, the Wandering Alliance and the Degenerate Civilization also won’t agree. We will eliminate you as we did to the Entropy Civilization, and then our sides will settle our disputes ourselves!"
