CHAPTER 125: CHAPTER 125: SHENG JIANAN, YOU BASTARD! (5)
Tang Yanqi’s steps were somewhat unsteady, she walked quickly along the winding corridor outside, head down. She wasn’t afraid someone might chase after her; she just didn’t like this place, really didn’t like it.
Not watching her path, Tang Yanqi collided harshly with someone, her bag flew out of her hand and with a "splash," fell into the adjacent fountain.
"Sister-in-law?"
Tang Yanqi hadn’t yet recovered her senses when she heard a not-so-unfamiliar voice beside her. Zhou Chengze had drunk some alcohol and was hurriedly preparing to go to the bathroom; with the liquor kicking in, he hadn’t watched his path either. He hadn’t expected to collide with someone, and just as Young Master Zhou was about to explode in anger, he froze when he saw it was Tang Yanqi.
"Sister-in-law, why are you here?"
Zhou Chengze’s gaze fell on Tang Yanqi, and he suddenly realized she seemed to be completely disheveled, with injuries on her forehead and wrist, and a bruise at the corner of her mouth.
The usually frivolous Zhou Chengze’s face suddenly turned icy: "Sister-in-law, what’s going on here? Who hit you?"
Tang Yanqi had already calmed down, reached out to tidy the hair behind her ear, and only then did she realize her bag was missing.
"I’m fine."
She replied to Zhou Chengze with three words, starting to look for her bag. Today’s anger was because of the bracelet in the bag, and she was also beaten because of it. After finally getting it back, if she had lost it again, Tang Yanqi felt she truly would be in a mess.
"Sister-in-law, what are you looking for?"
"My bag."
Zhou Chengze looked around and walked to the fountain. This fountain was just an ordinary one, round at the bottom with a protruding section in the middle, where Tang Yanqi’s backpack was neatly hung.
Zhou Chengze was about to say, "I’ll have someone get it," but then he saw Tang Yanqi rolling up her sleeves as if she was going to retrieve it herself, revealing the bruises underneath.
Zhou Chengze’s eyes narrowed slightly, he shoved his jacket into Tang Yanqi’s hand: "Wait for me."
Fortunately, there was hardly anyone in the corridor, otherwise, if someone saw the dignified Young Master Zhou climbing up the fountain, so awkwardly retrieving something, it would definitely be front-page news in tomorrow’s entertainment sections.
Zhou Chengze came down drenched and handed the bag to Tang Yanqi: "See if anything’s missing."
Tang Yanqi opened the bag and took out the paper-wrapped broken bracelet. She breathed a sigh of relief after confirming it was okay.
Seeing Zhou Chengze’s drenched and awkward condition, Tang Yanqi suddenly felt herself being unreasonable. A broken bracelet was important to her, but meant nothing to him, yet she had bothered him to retrieve it, leaving him in such a state.
She took out a dry tissue from her pocket and reached out to wipe the water off Zhou Chengze’s face: "Mr. Zhou, thank you."
In the dim corridor light and the bright moonlight from the sky, both falling on Tang Yanqi’s face at that moment, Zhou Chengze’s pupils dilated. He could feel a soft little hand holding a tissue to wipe his water droplets, but more intensely, he sensed the heart within his chest pounding at an extreme rate.
Zhou Chengze’s throat moved up and down, a sudden impulse made him want to embrace the person in front of him. His hand, hanging by his side, had just risen when Zhou Chengze keenly sensed two scorching gazes from over there.
"Nan... Brother Nan?"
