    emI had made sure I did not leave anything behind when I ran away so it was a mystery to me how Ronan found who I was. /em

    em“It was simple. I dig into Seth Darven’s background,” he titled his head slightly, “His background was clear, matching the records at the Academy but he had no sister. Then I looked into his rtives and found he had an aunt, a twin sister of his mother. And the aunt had a daughter. The daughter of Alpha Darious Nightbane.” /em

    emMy breath hitched. So he found my identity through Seth. He did my background check. /em

    em“No,” he cut my thought as if he read my mind, “I did not have to do the background check,” saying that he inched closer to me and leaned down towards my face with a smile, “The rumors of the Alpha Darious rebellious yet moon beauty daughter was enough to let me know, it was you…” he touched my cheek and whispered, “Seraphina.” /em

    emMy heart skipped a beat. I never thought he would have found me, not with my face but rumors. /em

    emHis soft touch heated my cheeks and his words made my heart ttered. /em

    emI licked my lips and slowly pulled my face away from his touch, “You! Are you a stalker or something? Why would you go to such lengths?” growling, I turned around to change my bed sheets. /em

    emHe chuckled behind me but I paid him no attention. I was just angry at myself. Why was I not angry at his stalker–like act? I should probably punch him a time or two for doing something like this. But all I could do was growl at him. /em

    emJust as I changed the bedsheet, the sky outside rumbled, deep and loud like a growl rolling across the heavens. /em

    em1 spun around, startled. /em

    em“It’s going to rain,” Ronan said quietly, looking outside. /em

    emI nced at him by the window, broad shoulders blocking the entire view. Curious, I padded over. /em

    emI leaned to the side to peek through the narrow gap his body left, only for him to step aside with a teasing look. His arm brushed mine as I moved forward, taking his ce. /em

    emCool air rushed against my skin, and the first drops of rain sttered against the windowpane. I leaned out slightly, letting the chill kiss my cheeks. /em

    em“It’s raining…in early winter?” I murmured, stretching my hand through the window. A dropletnded on my palm, cool, sharp, pure. “Strange.” /em

    em“Come to think…” Ronan’s voice came low, just behind me, “Why are you wearing perfume when we’re alone in the room?b” /b/em

    emI froze for half a second, pulling my hand back. “I just like being this way,” I lied smoothly. /em

    emBut Ronan leaned in closer, his breath ghosting over my ear. “Is it really your preference? Or your defense mechanism…to keep me at arms length?” /em

    emLike someone had stepped on my tail, I turned sharply to re at him. His gaze didn’t falter, it lingered, unreadable but intense. /em

    emDeep down, I’d told myself that I could keep him at arm’s length due to my disguise. He would be disgusted since he was straight. /em

    emHowever, that look…that dark, heated look said otherwise. /em

    emBefore I could process that, I felt it, his hardened length pressing softly, boldly against my belly. /em

    emHeughed lowly as I stormed back to my bed, grabbing my nket and wrapping it around myself like /em

    emI narrowed my eyes at him in a death re. “Try to do anything or even get close to my bed tonight, and I swear I will kill you.” /em

    emStill amused, he held up both hands in mock surrender but didn’t deny the obvious smirk tugging at his lips. /em

    emI turned my back to him, burying my face in the pillow. My heart pounded like crazy, my skin still tingling where he touched me. /em

    emHow was I supposed to live alone in this room with him? He was a wolf and I had suddenly be the sheep that he wanted to devour. /em
