CHAPTER 43: CHAPTER 43: THE MAN WHO KICKED OPEN THE DOOR

Faye Turner, who was busy, looked up and saw the fashionably dressed Jack passing by her side. He had changed his nose ring again today, and it was especially dazzling.

Closing her laptop, she got up and went to the door of Nancy Jennings’ office, politely knocking before entering.

"Director, what did you want to see me about?" the girl said with a gentle smile.

Nancy handed her a document and smiled at her, "Take this to the CEO for signature. It’s urgent, so bring it back immediately after it’s signed. Thanks!"

"..." Faye was a bit surprised and also a little troubled, hesitating to take it.

With so many people in the design department, why was she the one to do it?? What did she do to deserve this?

Nancy held the document patiently, smiling as she reminded, "Do you not want to design something eternal? If you’re afraid of the CEO, you could ask Assistant Shepherd. Aren’t you two good friends?"

"Director..."

"Are you going or not?!"

"I’m going..."

The girl took the document as if receiving a royal decree, turned around, and left the office, "I’m going!"

Those last two words, the tone... why did it sound a bit like cursing?

With the document in hand, she entered the elevator, unable to shake off thoughts of last night’s passionate encounter from her mind.

Thinking about facing him soon, the girl felt her neck heating up.

Last night she seemed... quite proactive! So awkward!

Ah, she didn’t know what got into her at the time. Thinking back now, she felt utterly ashamed.

Unwilling to risk losing her job, Faye didn’t dare delay and brought her eighty thousand apprehensions to the CEO’s office.

She took a deep breath and raised her hand to knock on the door!

"Come in." The man’s low and magnetic voice came through.

She gently pushed the door open and saw the tall figure by the floor-to-ceiling window, hand in pocket, on a call.

"This project is very important; there can’t be the slightest mistake." The man’s commanding back was filled with decisiveness in his magnetic voice.

Faye stood lightly behind him with the document in hand.

About two meters away, looking at his tall silhouette, she couldn’t help but recall the scenes from last night, feeling incredibly embarrassed!

The call ended quickly, and Adrian Lancaster turned around, visibly startled to see her.

Faye met his gaze and held out the document towards him, but before she could speak, the office door was kicked open!

Yes, kicked open!

The loud noise startled Faye, and as both looked towards the door, they saw an angry man entering.

This made Adrian Lancaster’s eyes darken.

The man, around 30 years old, was furious, and Faye hurriedly stepped aside.

Adrian Lancaster locked eyes with him, his deep and sharp gaze clouded with frost, "Did a dog eat your manners?"

"Adrian Lancaster! What do you mean by this?!" The man’s glare was fierce, his fury unstoppable, "Taking charge early is one thing! But then you make such drastic personnel changes!"

Daring to call the CEO by name?

Faye felt the air around her instantly freeze. This was truly terrible timing; she took another two steps back, barely daring to breathe.

Adrian Lancaster kept his hands in his pockets, eyes coldly fixed on the arrogant man, "Isn’t personnel change quite normal for a company?" His gaze had a touch of disdain, "What’s got you in a panic?"

"You didn’t change my position, but you moved everyone around me away! What exactly are you trying to do?" The man angrily pointed at him, "If you’re targeting me, do it openly if you dare?!"

"Openly?" Adrian Lancaster sneered, asking, "Shall I fire you directly then?"

Faye saw the man practically fuming, pointing at him with gritted teeth, clearly wanting to fight yet not daring to make a move.

She also noticed a subtle change in Adrian Lancaster’s icy expression, making her not dare to breathe heavily.

Adrian Lancaster’s cold brows slightly furrowed, "Brandon Peterson, you..."

"Adrian, Adrian, Adrian!" The man, hair bristling, emphasized loudly, "I long since changed my last name to Lancaster!"
