When the Wind is Sweet: The Fairy Tale of Mr. and Mrs. Lancaster
Chapter 65: Sienna, Don’t Leave Me
CHAPTER 65: CHAPTER 65: SIENNA, DON’T LEAVE ME
Faye Turner came out after taking a shower and discovered that Adrian Lancaster had not yet returned to the master bedroom.
She didn’t know where he would sleep tonight, but she was truly tired, so she dried her hair and got into bed, quickly falling asleep.
By the time Adrian Lancaster came in, she was already asleep.
The room was exceptionally quiet, the main light turned off, and the night enveloped her.
Her delicate face peeked out from the covers, eyes closed as she breathed evenly, long black silky hair splayed casually on the pillow, looking exceedingly serene, like a lily blooming in the dead of night.
Watching her like this, Adrian Lancaster found himself momentarily lost, and couldn’t help but think of Sienna.
In the depths of the night, thinking of a woman he once loved deeply would inevitably bring a tinge of sadness, a faint tugging pain in his heart that refused to be relieved even after all these years.
Though it was late, he felt no trace of sleepiness.
Sienna Dawson’s silhouette emerged in Adrian’s mind, growing clearer and impossible to dispel.
He turned around, opened the liquor cabinet, took out a bottle of 82-year-old Lafite, and headed to the armchair by the window.
Those sweet moments of the past, he dared not recall, as each scene felt like sugar sprinkled with shards of glass.
She was the first girl to enter his life, yet after he fell deeply in love, she left him cruelly...
Though he understood it was impossible, he still couldn’t let go, perhaps because the obsession was too deep, and what couldn’t be attained was always the best.
If only Sienna had known his real identity then, she would have chosen him, wouldn’t she?
One couldn’t blame a woman for being realistic; society itself was like that.
Adrian Lancaster used to be introverted, influenced by his family environment. Other than his good looks, which everyone could see, no one knew about his family background or financial situation.
That night, Adrian found himself reminiscing, drinking alone, filling the room with a faint scent of alcohol.
Swaying unsteadily from drinking too much, Adrian set down the bottle, tore open his shirt, and staggered toward the large, soft double bed.
He lifted the covers and pressed down onto the girl...
Faye was startled awake by his movements, the overwhelming smell of alcohol encasing her, bringing her mind instantly to clarity. "Adrian..."
His kiss silenced her, pressing against her lips.
His hands tugged at her nightgown, movements gentle yet commanding, as he grasped her slender wrists that were blocking his chest.
Faye found herself unable to resist. After all, she was a normal adult woman, and this man’s damned charm lay right there.
She began to respond to him willingly.
Though this marriage lacked love, they had agreed to have children and did not plan to divorce.
So this sort of thing was as normal as eating.
"Adrian, why did you drink?" With some difficulty, she managed to catch her breath, wrapping her arms around his waist, stroking his back, seeing a faint worry between his brows under the dim light of the nightlight.
"Are you unhappy?" For some reason, she felt a bit of genuine concern.
Adrian’s kisses started to fall all over her body, sending shivers through her.
"Sienna..."
The girl trembled, her nerves tensing up, ears perking!
"Sienna, don’t leave me..." His voice held unprecedented sorrow, "Sienna, don’t go..."
Faye’s once burning heart grew cold, her gaze turning blank in the ensuing intimacy, completely losing interest, no matter how strong he was.
Who is Sienna?
Afterward, this question lingered in her mind for a long time, while the man beside her had already fallen into a deep sleep.
The next morning, Saturday.
Adrian Lancaster slowly awoke in the wide, soft bed, feeling a heavy head, even a splitting headache.
The air in the bedroom still carried a faint scent of alcohol, even though the windows were open for ventilation.
Adrian saw the bottle on the coffee table by the window and remembered bits and pieces, his grandfather’s actions from last night, the soreness in his back feeling a bit more pronounced, she had applied ointment for him, then he drank...
He couldn’t recall what happened afterward.
At this moment, Faye was no longer in the bed, and Adrian sat up, noticing that it was already light outside the window.
