When the Wind is Sweet: The Fairy Tale of Mr. and Mrs. Lancaster
Chapter 72: Grandpa Is Really Adorable
CHAPTER 72: CHAPTER 72: GRANDPA IS REALLY ADORABLE
"Actually, it’s not that bad, Grandpa," Faye Turner quickly intervened. "For a man cooking for the first time, it’s really amazing! This eggplant is delicious! When I first fried eggplant, it turned black and tasted very bitter!"
Adrian Lancaster was a bit surprised. This girl wasn’t picking on him? Standing by his side?
"Yes, yes, yes, with a wife so understanding, it’s hard for Adrian not to improve his cooking!" Grandpa said while eating.
"Adrian Lancaster, you need to cook more in the future. If someday Faye gets pregnant, she won’t be able to enter the kitchen anymore. Besides, in a marriage, household chores should be shared equally. Who says only women can cook?"
Speaking of pregnancy... is he starting to pressure them again?
What a huge pressure! It seems Grandpa will frequent here often in the future.
After dinner.
Grandpa took out two small boxes from his pocket, handing one to each of them, "Open them and take a look, gifts for you, no need to thank me! Hahaha!"
What?
Adrian Lancaster and Faye Turner took the boxes, glanced at Grandpa in confusion, and then opened them to find a ring inside?
Looking at each other’s ring, they had the identical style, couple rings?
"I guess neither of you have bought wedding rings," the old man said, leaning on his dragon-headed cane, with dignity and seriousness, "You actually don’t need to buy any, Grandpa had them custom-made for you! Starting today, wear them every day!"
When they were both astonished and hadn’t yet come to their senses, Grandpa added another line—
"Don’t wear them on the wrong finger, once married, wear them on the ring finger, this is a custom-made for a lifetime, once you put it on, fate will bind you closer for this lifetime!"
A legendary lifetime custom-made ring?
Not something you can buy just with money?
Seeing Adrian Lancaster not making a move, Faye Turner silently held the box, unsure of what to do, without a word.
Once you wear the ring, everyone knows you’re married...
"Adrian Lancaster, hurry up and put it on! What’s stalling, big man?" Grandpa sternly said to his precious grandson, his presence was intimidating to Faye Turner.
No defying Grandpa, if they don’t obediently wear it, Grandpa might get angry.
So Adrian Lancaster began to put on the wedding ring, without any objection. Seeing him do so, Faye Turner followed suit.
Grandpa watched the scene, instantly feeling much better, a gentle, joyful smile spread across his face.
"Don’t even think about taking them off!" The old man emphasized once more before leaving, "If I ever see either of you not wearing it, I’ll criticize each time I see it! No exceptions!"
The man nodded, and the girl nodded too.
"Alright! Mission accomplished for today! Grandpa’s leaving first, hahaha, you both get some rest early!"
With that, the old man stepped outside, the two young ones rose to see him off.
After sending Grandpa off, with the door closed, Adrian Lancaster and Faye Turner glanced at each other.
He stepped toward the study, the girl looked at his back before glancing at the ring on her ring finger, it was actually quite beautiful, a lifetime custom-made piece that costs a fortune.
A single ring worth seven figures.
She began tidying up the dishes and washing them.
In the study, Adrian Lancaster received a phone call.
The caller quietly reported, "President, Mr. Mark’s mother’s illness was not clearly diagnosed at the time, it’s a highly indeterminate medical condition, treated at the world’s top ten hospitals, all ineffective."
"How severe?" Adrian Lancaster asked.
"Blindness, stomach atrophy, can’t even swallow porridge, lost 20 pounds in a week, many doctors advised to give up treatment."
So, a dying person was healed by Faye Turner’s master?
Adrian Lancaster didn’t speak, inwardly extremely shocked.
Is this the legendary healer, turning despair into hope?
The informant continued reporting, "Mr. Mark is deeply devoted; he refused to give up and took his severely ill mother to find renowned physicians worldwide, finally cured by Sean Downey. She now recovers as if normal."
