While My Mage Wife Grinds, I Power Up Idly
Chapter 138: The Twelve Demon-Hunting Nuns Formation
CHAPTER 138: CHAPTER 138: THE TWELVE DEMON-HUNTING NUNS FORMATION
At the critical moment, a purple figure flashed like a ghost, a jade hand blocking Ashu’s path.
"Dong—"
Imperial Princess Isabella’s heavy, powerful fist collided with Lilith’s slender jade hand, producing a dull thud.
The shockwave sent the ruins of half of Rose Valley flying two meters!
"You reckless little girl, still so headstrong."
"You?"
Isabella looked up in shock. She saw a beautiful woman she had never seen before. Even hidden beneath black battle armor, the woman’s mature figure made Isabella, a barren young girl, feel ashamed.
Her face, in every subtle expression and smile, radiated a captivating allure.
Yet she was not merely seductive. Alongside that innate charm, she exuded a purity and holiness that inspired awe.
"How is this possible..."
Isabella’s disbelief slowed her movements.
She looked up at the Demon horns atop Lilith’s head, the vertical purple pupils, and the Succubus tail swaying behind her.
This was clearly a Demon! But how could a Demon’s body emit a divine aura?
"Hm?"
Ashu’s curiosity wasn’t about how strong Lilith was now, but rather that Isabella’s expression clearly showed she could see Lilith.
Did she also have two opposing forces within her body?
Ashu even uncertainly used Reaper’s Eye to observe again, confirming that Isabella’s power was very pure.
So, the problem could only lie with Lilith—she had broken the curse left by her father.
"You... you damn ones." Driven by her nature, Isabella quickly recovered her spirit. She didn’t care what divine secrets Lilith was hiding; as long as she was a Demon, she intended to purge her.
"Prepare to die! In the name of my God!"
In an instant,
Isabella struck back, her fists like fierce tigers.
Lilith sidestepped and immediately counterattacked with full force. Purple and golden energy streams intertwined between her wings into a dazzling galaxy. Each flap tore space itself, leaving twisted black rifts behind.
She lightly tapped her fingertip, without flashy spells—only a beam of light wrapped with abyssal aura and divine pressure shot toward Isabella. Wherever the beam passed, the air boiled like water on a stove, and stones on the ground floated, melting into shimmering glass under the intense heat.
The scorching energy warped and distorted the nearby air, forming eerie heat ripples. Trees in the distance instantly ignited, flames roaring high. Fueled by fierce winds, the fire rapidly spread, lighting the battlefield edges like a fiery hellscape.
After this battle, whether Rose Valley town was rebuilt or not, the area would be marked a dead zone.
Because the residual battle energy here was too intense.
Burning trees crackled and popped, resin splattered in the heat like a miniature fireworks display, but with a destructive aura.
Thick smoke billowed up, obscuring half the sky. The air filled with acrid burnt smells and sulfur, mingled with magic fluctuations from the fight, creating a terrifying war atmosphere.
Isabella struggled to block and dodge, her silver teeth clenched tight. While evading, she struck back at the distant royal guards, drawing ten long spears from their hands.
Lilith caught this subtle move and immediately seized the opportunity.
"Fighting me and still daring to be distracted?"
"Bang—"
After one strike, Isabella’s tiger mouth cracked open, blood dripping slowly down the spear shafts. Her blood fell to the ground, burning pits that smoked blue. The air above was thick with the pungent smell of burning flesh.
"I am the blazing sun that cleanses evil!" She gritted her teeth and unleashed forbidden magic. Brilliant golden light burst forth around her.
The angelic apparition behind her raised the holy fire longsword and swung it down. Each motion of the apparition summoned Holy Power from the heavens and earth, dyeing the clouds a sacred gold.
The sky seemed to hold a sun close to the earth; wherever its light shone, the Demon aura was swiftly dispelled, and the surrounding black smoke was forced back underground.
However, the backlash of the forbidden magic also began to show at this moment. Her skin started to crack with fine fissures, and fresh blood seeped out from the cracks, staining her armor a dark red. Each crack looked like a shocking wound spreading across her pale skin.
Lilith, however, neither flinched nor dodged. A mocking smile curled at the corner of her mouth. She spread her arms wide, and the golden wings behind her suddenly expanded, forming a massive sacred shield.
Just this one scene made the Imperial Princess, who was gathering her power, tremble in her gaze.
She had to pay such a huge price to mobilize the power of Michael, the Divine Chosen. Yet, a mere Demon could summon divine power so casually?
Was this fair? Was this reasonable? Did the gods truly care about the mortal realm?
Whether the gods cared or not was unknown, but she knew this: ancient divine patterns appeared on Lilith’s shield’s surface, each line flowing with golden liquid light.
That divinity was even greater than hers!
At the moment the two forces collided, the sky above Rose Valley seemed torn open, as purple and gold energy cascaded down like waterfalls. The earth was mercilessly shattered, raising clouds of dust that blotted out the sun.
The violent tremors caused rumbling deep underground. Countless hidden subterranean rivers burst forth, intertwining with blazing flames, turning the area into a living hell on earth.
The Lesser Dragon let out an uneasy roar, pacing anxiously on the ground. Its massive tail swept across the earth, flattening several remaining ruins completely.
The battle between the two spread from the ground up into the sky. Lilith’s figure darted ghostlike among the clouds.
With a casual flick of her hand, several purple magical blades tore through the sky. The edges of the blades shimmered with eerie blue flames, and wherever they passed, the air emitted sharp explosive cracks.
Isabella hurriedly spun her spear and controlled the other spears with Magical Essence, weaving a golden shield around herself that shimmered continuously to block the blades’ attacks.
The clash between the blades and the shield erupted in a deafening roar. Isabella was blasted backward by the powerful impact, crashing heavily against a distant mountain peak.
The entire mountain was instantly shaved off halfway.
"Still won’t admit defeat?" Lilith hovered in the air, looking down at the battered Imperial Princess from above. Her wings trembled lightly, scattering specks of purple and golden dust. "The power you gained by burning your life is nothing but a dying struggle."
To admit defeat was not something a true Demon would say. In the Demon’s dictionary, there was no chance to concede — only life or death.
She gathered a purple energy orb at her fingertip. The orb’s surface shimmered with purple and gold patterns, a killing move that fused the powers of the Divine and Succubus.
The energy orb swelled continuously, warping the space around it and emitting a sickening creaking sound.
Isabella struggled to stand up. Half of her golden curls had turned snow white, strands stained with blood and dust, yet her gaze remained as firm as iron.
"I am Michael’s Divine Chosen..." Her voice was weak but resolute, each word seeming to drain every last ounce of strength from her, "As long as I have breath left, I will never bow to the Demons! Never!"
Leaning on her spear, she rose and with all her might thrust it toward Lilith in the air. The spear trembled slightly in her hand, as if gathering strength for this final strike.
Her legs shook uncontrollably from exhaustion. The wounds on her body bled continuously, staining large swaths of her skirt red. Her armor was broken in many places, revealing skin covered with countless scars. Each wound told the tale of a brutal battle, relentlessly eating away at her body, causing unbearable pain with every breath.
A flicker of admiration passed through Lilith’s eyes.
The purple energy orb exploded violently, the powerful shockwave engulfing Isabella.
When the dust settled, the Imperial Princess was covered in injuries, all her spears broken in half. She collapsed to her knees, blood spilling continuously from the corners of her mouth, pooling in small puddles before her, reflecting her determined yet weary face.
Her arms were covered with burn scars; the skin peeled back, exposing raw flesh beneath. Purple Magical Essence still lingered around the wounds on her body.
Though her eyes were full of unwillingness, her extreme weakness made it impossible to rise again. She could only lie helplessly on the ground, feeling her life slip away.
Lilith looked at the finally subdued Isabella and then calmly stepped forward, speaking slowly, "Haven’t you noticed? One of the powers we share is somewhat similar..."
Before she could finish speaking,
Suddenly, eleven beams of sacred light tore through the sky.
Their momentum was like eleven nuclear warheads launched simultaneously.
When they landed with thunderous force, it signified the arrival of the Twelve Demon-Hunting Nuns from the Holy Cultivator Guild.
They had finally arrived at the battlefield.
Vivita stood on the ground. Taking a step forward, she immediately dispelled the cage of light columns. She no longer cared about suppressing the Great Demon Shava.
All her sisters had arrived; one Great Demon Shava was nothing.
"Vivita, we’re late." One of the nuns among the eleven glanced at Vivita and said.
The others looked around the utterly destroyed Rose Valley town area. Except for some fallen townsfolk in the Church ruins, nothing had been saved.
"Save the people first!" Vivita said bluntly without wasting words.
"The Twelve Demon-Hunting Nuns Formation, activate!" With a sharp command from the leading nun, twelve beams of light instantly merged to form a massive golden hexagram magic array.
Within the array appeared twelve enormous golden phantom figures, each holding weapons and chanting the Holy Cultivator Guild scriptures in unison. Their voices rang like great bells through heaven and earth, freezing the very air over Rose Valley.
The overwhelming divine pressure forced the Lesser Dragon to bow low, its massive body trembling slightly under the immense weight.
The river in the distance stopped flowing under the immense pressure, and a layer of golden light shimmered on the water’s surface, as if it had frozen in time.
Time itself seemed to slow down.
