CHAPTER 326: CHAPTER 326: DIVORCE (6)
Previously, when Isabelle was rumored to be involved in scandals, they didn’t quite believe it. But now, seeing that limited edition luxury car, they have no choice but to believe it.
That man, is he really Isabelle’s wealthy benefactor? And, is he the Crown Prince?
-
At the dining table.
The old lady was crying so sorrowfully, not eating or drinking anything.
The maid spoke politely, "Madam, Miss Isabelle has returned!"
Then, Eva Nightingale and Lucas Knight walked in hand in hand, his face stern, yet it seemed perfectly natural.
"Oh my dear granddaughter!"
People often say that when you get old, you become like a child again. The old lady was just like that, wiping away tears like a child, and reached out to hug Eva.
"Granddaughter, you’ve finally come back!"
"Grandma." Eva felt a bit guilty. Ever since she was little, it was her grandma who spent the most time with her... now seeing her crying, Eva felt a bit heartbroken.
"Who is this?"
The old lady looked at Lucas Knight.
Dressed in black, emanating coldness all over.
"Oh dear! Look at me..." The old grandma simply decided not to pursue it further, and welcomed the two, "Come, come, sit down, have something to eat."
At the dining table.
He ate without hesitation, not speaking, and only then did Eva relax, how nice... let him eat more and keep his mouth shut.
Otherwise, anything that comes out of his mouth might anger the old lady to the point of fainting!
"Oh my dear granddaughter, this young man is pretty decent, handsome! Is he your boyfriend?"
Eva was startled, her face turned a little red, "Yes... he is." Haha, by tomorrow we’ll be divorced! By tomorrow he’ll be just an ex-husband!
Thinking of this, she was both angry and resentful, looking at him accusingly.
And he.
Ate his food completely oblivious, without ever looking at her.
It seemed as though he hadn’t heard a single word, completely unlike himself from before!
-
After the meal.
Eva feared he might speak out of turn, that the housekeepers might slip up, feared the old lady might find out the Nightingale Family’s door was damaged by him!
Even more, she feared he might cause trouble again.
She therefore issued an eviction order, "Mr. Knight, the meal is over, you can leave now, right? I have to chat with grandma, so... I have no time to attend to you!"
"You big guy! You Mr. President, please leave!"
"Tomorrow morning, I’ll meet you at the civil affairs bureau, and we’ll get the divorce settled, so you don’t need to cling to me anymore."
She was afraid, afraid something might happen to grandma.
"Alright." he responded.
And then he left, that tall and straight silhouette disappeared into the night.
He left completely, without turning his head.
Once Eva had coaxed the old lady to sleep, she went upstairs, because something happened at the Nightingale Family... everyone was saying Violet Hargrove had become a vegetable, while Isabelle Nightingale hadn’t been back these past few days.
Today, she didn’t come back either.
Eva didn’t know where Isabelle had gone.
Going upstairs, she entered the room and instructed the staff to throw away all the sheets, because that bed had been used by Benjamin Grant and Isabelle Nightingale.
Once... the two of them, had wantonly, in her bed, right before her eyes, done those unspeakable things.
Benjamin Grant holding Isabelle Nightingale, with soft moans and low growls...
That scene, it was as if it had happened just last night, recalling it made Eva feel nauseated.
This bed.
She never wanted to sleep in it again.
She’d rather rent a room elsewhere than sleep in this house again!
So, she grabbed her bag, threw on a coat, and left the Nightingale Family, heading straight to Nightfall Palace.
...
She opened the suite with the room card and walked in.
Unexpectedly, a tall and straight silhouette followed behind her.
