Whispers to the Soul: Surrendering to Love Snare
Chapter 35: The Forgotten Lin Mubai
CHAPTER 35: CHAPTER 35: THE FORGOTTEN LIN MUBAI
With a wave of anger, she was the first to enter the restaurant. Led by the waiter, the two arrived at a seat by the window, where they could see half the city’s scenery outside. At dusk, the twilight cast over the sky, creating a breathtaking view.
No matter how beautiful the scenery outside was, Lin Mubai still felt that compared to the woman in front of him, everything else merely served as a backdrop.
A woman’s beauty often lies not in her appearance but in her unique charm.
On her, he saw that unique beauty, so beautiful that he couldn’t look away, nor did he want to.
Without asking what she wanted to eat, he took the liberty to order everything for her.
When one exquisite dish after another was served, An Nan stared at the table full of delicious food in astonishment, forgetting all other reactions.
The only thought in her mind was, how did this little man know her tastes?
Lin Mubai wouldn’t reveal the answer to this. Anyone who is not yet familiar wouldn’t be pleased to find out someone has investigated them. Understanding this, Lin Mubai pretended ignorance, saying, "Just now, I saw you looking intently out the window and didn’t want to interrupt you, so I decided to order for you. If you don’t like it, you can order again."
"No need, I really like it." It’s simply all her favorites. Despite her slim figure, her only hobby was eating. Every time she flew to a city, she would go local food hunting. Luckily, she never gains weight from how much she eats, or she would have become chubby long ago.
He shouldn’t know what she likes. It must be a coincidence.
With delicious food in front of her, she couldn’t care to think much.
Besides, after such a long flight and shopping at the mall for so long, she was really hungry now.
Finishing the meal and going back to sleep was the important thing.
With this settled, An Nan no longer paid attention to the man opposite her.
Usually, women when eating in front of him, would take small bites, chew slowly and savored the food. How could this compare to the woman in front of him who wanted to devour all the food on her plate at once?
What surprised him was that while the woman in front of him ate very quickly, every move was accompanied by elegance and nobility, a kind of innate grace, rather than something learned.
What was the reason behind such peculiarity? Lin Mubai couldn’t quite figure it out but he had a feeling that this woman before him was certainly not as simple as she seemed. Yet his investigation showed hers was a straightforward life, so where was the mistake?
Soon, An Nan finished her food and realized that the person opposite her hardly ate.
"Not tasty?" An Nan asked while frowning. She was considered picky, yet she found this restaurant fine, so it shouldn’t be bad, or was he being picky?
Lin Mubai shook his head before she frowned and explained, "I’m not hungry."
"Why come to eat if you’re not hungry?"
Lin Mubai smiled lightly, "Weren’t you hungry?"
Was it really that simple? Could it be? They didn’t even know each other, right?
As if he understood what she was thinking, Lin Mubai mysteriously smiled and continued, "We are very familiar, it’s just you forgot me." Again with this line.
Very familiar? Forgot? How is that possible?
Such a man is impossible for anyone to forget, right?
