CHAPTER 517: CHAPTER 516: JIAYOU’S RARE CHILDISH MOMENT
Lin Mubai listened somewhat groggily, but still nodded and agreed, "Okay, I’ll accompany An Nan. Don’t think too much about it. After An Nan’s birthday, it’ll be New Year’s. Let’s all go to the big house for the holiday, shall we? After the New Year, you have to go back to school, and life will keep getting better."
"Okay, I understand, Uncle Mu Bai."
"Mm, what would you like to eat tonight? I’ll cook. Tomorrow, we’ll accompany An Nan for a checkup at the hospital. In the evening, we’ll have dinner at the big house and stay there for a couple of days."
"Okay, Uncle Mu Bai, do you want a daughter or a son?"
Without hesitation, Lin Mubai replied, "A daughter. I believe you’ll definitely be a good brother."
An Jiayou nodded without hesitation, a hint of expectation shining in his eyes, "Mm, a sister, it has to be a sister. I’ll surely be the best brother in the world and take good care of her."
"I know. What would you like to eat tonight?"
"Anything is fine, Uncle Mu Bai. I’ll help you, and you can teach me. Then, when you’re busy in the future, I can take care of An Nan and the baby sister." In An Jiayou’s heart, he’d already decided the baby in An Nan’s belly was a sister.
Listening to this, Lin Mubai felt comforted. This little guy really is so sensible, it makes one’s heart ache.
In their close cooperation, the food was finally ready.
While holding the dish, Lin Mubai didn’t forget to ask An Jiayou to wake someone up.
"Jiayou, go call An Nan for dinner."
"Okay."
Gently walking into the room, seeing the sleeping figure on the bed, An Jiayou couldn’t bring himself to wake her up. He just stood by the bed, staring dazedly at the not-yet-rounded belly. Even though he had searched online about the process of a mother nurturing a child, he still found it miraculous. Would a sister really spring forth from there in a few months?
As An Jiayou tightly focused on the belly of the person on the bed, An Nan woke up just then, seeing the little guy standing at the bedside. She gestured slightly, "Jiayou, come here."
An Jiayou obediently walked forward, "An Nan, can I touch your belly?"
"Sure." An Nan said while taking his hand and placing it on her belly, "Jiayou, do you feel anything?"
Though An Jiayou didn’t feel anything, he still found it amazing, "An Nan, a sister will come out from here in the future."
"Sister?"
An Nan queried in puzzlement, yet saw him continue to nod steadily, "Yeah, Uncle Mu Bai said he hopes for a daughter."
Unable to resist rolling her eyes, An Nan said, "You’re both so sure it’s a girl."
For the first time, An Jiayou showed a hint of childishness, "An Nan, I don’t care, I just want a sister." A sister he could spoil to the heavens.
Faced with this rare display of childishness from the little guy, An Nan first paused in surprise, then delightedly, unexpectedly pulled him into her arms, speaking excitedly, "Jiayou, do you know how long I’ve been waiting for this day?"
She had always tried to give him the best, only to discover that this child was overly mature, forgetting the childhood he should have had. She had believed she’d never see him like this, but to her surprise, she did see it, and it felt so real.
