CHAPTER 367: CHAPTER 214: WITCH CAREER CHANGE GUIDE_4
Now, she, a member of the Dream Erosion Elder Council, will uncover the Empire’s secrets!
When she left the registration office, the sky had already darkened. Only then did Nightmare realize that she’d unknowingly wandered around the capital the entire day. Almost instinctively, Nightmare tucked away the flyer handed to her by an employee.
She followed behind Palansi. This electric wheelchair always gave her a bit of a curious itch.
On one hand, it’s out of curiosity; on the other, she always thought sitting in it would be comfortable. It seems perfect for the pace of an elderly person’s life...
Bah, what elderly person!
Nightmare clenched her fist. She was not old at all; her appearance was akin to someone just over thirty, a look that best matched her personal aesthetic.
She wasn’t yet able to determine what exactly Palansi was plotting. On further thought, it’s possible even Palansi’s identity was fabricated, and she couldn’t rule out the possibility of an ambush set in the Royal Palace.
The good news is, night has fallen.
The night is her friend, shadows are everywhere.
Palansi openly brought her, this suspicious individual, before the palace and, when questioned by the Forbidden Guards, directly announced her identity as Nightmare Witch and explained her request to meet Lindong and Rowena.
And then... the guards simply let them pass.
Nightmare understood.
These people are truly unafraid of her attempting to assassinate the Empire’s royal family.
Palansi easily found out Lindong’s whereabouts. With the palace banquet imminent, she was bathing and changing.
Listen, listen!
Does this sound like something a member of the Dream Erosion should be doing?
In Nightmare’s impression, Lindong was never the type of girl keen on dressing up. Her partner Rowena, however, was skilled at dolling herself up, but being miserly, her outings’ attire was mostly self-stitched with magic.
Warm-tone lights paved her path forward, and inexplicably, her heart was a bit tense.
Closer and closer.
She sensed Lindong’s magic power, that familiar cold aura.
Palansi stayed outside, while she ascended the staircase. With each step forward, her heartbeat sped up, and a faint fragrance began to permeate the air. Besides cherries, there was a hint of incense.
The scent originated from above the attic, guiding her way.
She quickened her pace, the aroma drawing nearer and nearer, until Nightmare finally saw the figure she had been longing for.
Dressed in a luxurious royal gown, with silver-white hair styled into an updo and adorned with a shiny hairpiece, Lindong was clearly in high heels, as judged by her footsteps.
These were styles Lindong had once despised for their cumbersome nature.
Yet now, her steps were sprightly, seemingly fresh from a bath, her fair skin slightly flushed.
The scene before her left Nightmare dumbstruck, her legs felt like lead, and her voice caught in her throat. She could only watch as that pure figure quickly strode to a young man dressed in formal attire, twirled before him, showcasing her splendid attire.
Her skirt billowed, and then Lindong tiptoed, encircling the young man’s neck with her arms, and briefly pecked his lips.
This was not what she wanted to see!
Nightmare’s breathing became erratic and she clenched her fists reflexively, her eyes bloodshot, as if tears of blood would leak from the corners.
Where did her promising newcomer go?
Where did that icy avenger filled with fury against the Empire go?
And where did this lovesick girl suddenly appear from?
What kind of ghostly place is this capital, hiding away the newcomer she single-handedly nurtured within the organization?
Give her back!
Quickly return the Witch of Dream Erosion to her!
