CHAPTER 226: 107 FLAME ISLAND (PLEASE BOOKMARK)_3

Conni knew the Island Master and had thought he could persuade him.

Unfortunately!

Not only had he failed to convince the Island Master of Flame Island, but he had also been thrown into the dungeon and had sent a distress signal.

Since Lula and Carl were both around, they decided to take action directly.

"Okay," Carl nodded. "Let’s go!"

For him, the sea routes of the Endless Sea Domain meant abundant Magic Materials and Wizard resources. He might not concern himself with other matters, but he would definitely put effort into reopening these sea routes.

Besides other advantages, reopening the sea route would allow them to avoid the ’Shark People.’ Capturing a few water monkeys would then let him refine potions to trade for Great Divine Grace from others.

Quincy, short in stature and slightly dark-skinned, was a Great Knight who roamed the lands of Duke Ferdinand. While passing nearby, he was warmly recruited by Lula and was currently preparing to join the Dragon King Chamber of Commerce.

This island landing was his first time participating in an operation with the Dragon King Chamber of Commerce.

"Be careful," Susan said, leading the way. "The island is full of pirates. They are not weak; in fact, the main thing is that once they start fighting, they don’t know how to retreat."

"Even Conni was captured!"

"Conni," Quincy said, carrying a short wooden club and laughing. "Captain of the Breaking Wind, a legend of the Endless Sea Domain—I’ve heard his name mentioned by quite a few people."

To think... our first meeting would be with him locked in a pirate’s dungeon, waiting for us to rescue him.

Susan frowned. She could hear the contempt in Quincy’s words and, as Conni’s lover, naturally felt uncomfortable.

"Don’t underestimate him," she said. "Although Conni can be unconventional at times, he’s certainly strong. Few people can take him down."

"Of course," Quincy shrugged. "The captain of the Breaking Wind is, after all, a Great Knight."

Susan didn’t continue the conversation. She crouched slightly, moving like a panther deeper into the island.

「Sometime later.」

The three stopped at the edge of a dense forest.

"The dungeon is just ahead," Susan whispered, pointing to a small door in front of them. "According to our investigation, the dungeon is guarded by the three brothers of the Paul family, all of whom are Peak Knights."

"Together, the three of them can take on a Great Knight!"

"The main problem is that the dungeon is also full of traps and more guards, making a stealthy infiltration difficult."

"Carl, it’s up to you," Susan said.

"Mm," Carl nodded, taking a pouch from his waist and shaking it towards the air in front of him.

A cloud of dark green gas emerged from the pouch, drifting towards the dungeon on the wind.

"Sleeping Dust," Carl explained in a low voice, seeing the curiosity on their faces. "It’s a powder that induces drowsiness, strong enough to easily knock out an elephant."

"Let’s wait a moment."

They didn’t wait long. The patrolling guards outside the dungeon, along with the lookouts hidden in concealed spots, successively fell into a deep sleep.

"Let’s go," Carl gestured. "As long as we don’t make too much noise, they won’t wake up for a while."

"Impressive!" Quincy exclaimed, his eyes sparkling. "You truly live up to Miss Lula’s high praise, Carl. Your methods are indeed remarkable."

There were at least dozens of people here, yet Carl took them all down so effortlessly. Quincy couldn’t help but be impressed.

Susan shook her head. In her opinion, this Great Knight named Quincy might be skilled, but he was too arrogant.

Carl was not just a Pharmacist. He was also a Great Knight!

But Quincy hadn’t mentioned it at all during their journey, apparently not thinking that Carl, who had only recently advanced, was very strong.

Carl smiled without a word.

With no guards to intercept them, the three of them smoothly entered the dungeon. The rugged path led deep underground. The deeper they went, the darker it became, forcing them to rely on the torches lining the walls for light.

"The Potion doesn’t affect this area," Carl gestured with his hand. "Quincy, from here on out, it’s all on you."

"Of course!" Quincy grinned, reaching behind him to take down the short wooden club. With a light flick, it transformed into a Long Spear.

The bright silver blade of the Long Spear flashed in the darkness, and its cold killing intent made Susan instinctively tense up.

A Great Knight!

No matter how much she disliked him, he was undeniably a genuine Great Knight; his strength was not to be underestimated.

"Who goes there?"

The trio’s movements finally caught the attention of the guards ahead. Accompanied by a loud shout, a group of men quickly rushed over.

"Get them!"

The approaching men carried torches. In the flickering firelight, a group of emaciated, haggard-looking guards came into view. These men were all sallow and gaunt, their clothes ragged, though the weapons in their hands were still serviceable.

"Heh..." Seeing this, Quincy sneered, "Haven’t you lot had a decent meal? If you can’t even fill your stomachs, what makes you think you can fight me?"

BUZZ!

He held his Long Spear, and with a slight flick of his wrist, the shaft vibrated, emitting a deep, powerful hum.

"Kill!"

With a low shout, Quincy charged into the crowd with his Long Spear.

The terrifying power of a Great Knight could easily shatter a boulder; flesh and blood were no match for him.

Battle Aura flared, pressing down on the crowd and forcing them to retreat continuously.

Though one side was outnumbered, the battle was like scything grass; the dungeon guards simply couldn’t stop a Great Knight.

Figure after figure fell to the ground.

"AH!"

Seeing their line of defense about to collapse, one of them roared to the sky, eyes blazing with a fiery light, and lunged at Quincy with outstretched arms.

The others emulated him, some even discarding their weapons, charging like madmen.

What’s going on? Quincy raised an eyebrow and thrust his Long Spear fiercely. They couldn’t even handle him when armed; what good would throwing away their weapons do? Were they seeking death?

"Be careful!" Carl suddenly called out from behind. "They’re going to self-destruct!"

Self-destruct?

Quincy’s heart tightened. The flurry of his spear movements instantly contracted, and he transformed into a spinning turtle shell.
