World-saving Plan: The Only Savior
Chapter 532 - 532 413 The Secret in the Cavern
532: Chapter 413 The Secret in the Cavern 532: Chapter 413 The Secret in the Cavern Guided by Xu Fei, the Star Guards made their way through numerous checkpoints and arrived at the interior of the base.
Although Zhang Xiaoman’s observational field of view couldn’t transmit sound, at their current location, there was no lack of electronic devices; he was already able to listen to Xu Fei’s words through the Star Order.
“This is Chief Liu’s office, and he is inside waiting for us now,”
Xu Fei said, seated on horseback.
At this point, only the horse Xu Fei rode remained; the Star Guards had dismounted their steeds as soon as they had entered and, before his very eyes, dispelled the summons for the mounts, startling him.
Xu Fei couldn’t help but stealthily pat the fully-armored warhorse beneath him, his heart filled with amazement; he couldn’t for the life of him tell that the horse wasn’t real.
Several guards came over to help him dismount, then led everyone into the temporarily constructed cabin.
Inside the cabin were just two people: one was the Commander Liu Jinheng, whom Xu Fei had just mentioned; the other was an old acquaintance Zhang Xiaoman had seen before, Minister Hu from the Abnormality Department.
Hu Hu had originally been inside Azure Dragon Army’s base, discussing strategic plans concerning Sheep Village with Liu Jinheng, when suddenly, someone came in to report that Xu Fei, who was out on a mission, had returned and brought back several strangely dressed people with him.
After a brief conversation, Hu Hu couldn’t help but allow a glint to flash through his eyes, and he had an inkling as to the identity of the newcomers.
Now, as the three towering figures entered the room, Hu Hu became even more certain of his conjecture.
He had seen these people before!
In that video segment by Lord Sword Immoral, he had seen a few individuals dressed similarly.
Although the attire had some minor differences, the overall style was the same.
He was certain that the three warriors clad in armor before him must be members of that organization.
Without a doubt, he was facing a group of unexpected visitors.
At this thought, Hu Hu’s heart swelled with joy.
He had been worrying about how to resolve the situation in Sheep Village, especially the Dimension Rift underground; with their current means, they were utterly unable to affect it in any way.
But now, things had taken a positive turn; the organization suspected of possessing mysterious Extraordinary Powers had sought him out proactively.
Regardless of other issues, for now, there was hope to completely eradicate the rift there—it was as if someone had brought him a pillow just as he was dozing off.
After exchanging a glance with Liu Jinheng beside him, they both put down what they were holding, walked out of the conference room, and approached the Star Guards—one to attend to Xu Fei, who had an injured leg, and the other to greet the three Star Guards.
“Gentlemen, I’ve already been briefed about the earlier incident.
We are deeply grateful that you took action to save our young comrade.
I am Hu Hu from the Abnormality Department.
May I ask how to address you?”
Hu Hu said with a smile on his face.
However, as his voice fell, the three Star Guards in front of him showed no reaction whatsoever; they just stood there rigidly, observing him with six eyes that flickered with purple light.
“Uh…
well…
how about this, could you all come inside first, and then we can sit down and talk in detail?”
Hu Hu’s face was somewhat embarrassed, as he had evidently encountered the same situation as Xu Fei.
Beside them, Xu Fei exchanged a few words with his leader before shaking his head to decline the offer of treatment and walked into the briefing room with Liu Jinheng.
Then, he addressed everyone in the room, saying:
“Chief, I made some discoveries underground on this mission, and I feel it’s necessary to report to both of you immediately.”
At this point, Hu Hu was also drawn by Xu Fei’s voice and turned to look in that direction.
After Xu Fei had finished speaking, he did not immediately start explaining but instead looked around at the Star Guards with a hint of hesitation on his face.
Hu Hu immediately understood what he meant and said: “Xiao Xu, it’s okay, go ahead and speak.
Everyone here is a warrior fighting against the Alien Species, and naturally, we should share such intelligence.”
As he spoke, he even gestured for several Star Guards to come inside, showing great sincerity.
Zhang Xiaoman, of course, had heard their conversation through some electronic devices in the area and was very curious about the so-called underground intelligence.
Seeing that his leader had spoken, Xu Fei didn’t say much more and went straight into recounting what he had explored that day:
“This time, our mission for the Dragon Teeth Team was to approach the source of the monster attacks, observe the situation there, and if possible, try to find a way to shut it down.”
“However, the presence of the mist made our operations very difficult.
We encountered several waves of monsters along the way, and some of our brothers fell on the spot…”
Xu Fei began by describing the process of their entry; his heavy tone suggested that the sacrifice of his teammates weighed heavily on him.
“The fiercest battle we encountered was in an underground ancient tomb.
We didn’t find the Fog Heart there, but we were attacked by a group of flying monsters, which looked a bit like bats, but they were much larger and more ferocious than bats.”
“According to my estimate, the wingspan of these monsters is at least four meters or more, they have very sharp claws, and they operate in a swarm.
We encountered six of these creatures at the same time.”
“Fortunately, they have a weakness; they are very afraid of light.
In the end, it was with great difficulty that we escaped their pursuit under the illumination of a light source, managing to drive them away…”
Xu Fei then talked about the information on the monsters he had encountered.
Although not extensive, some of it was something Zhang Xiaoman had not seen before, and listening to it now was an unexpected gain.
“Finally, after the remaining few of us crossed that ancient tomb and entered a huge underground cavern, we discovered that the mist unexpectedly reduced at a certain spot.”
“Although we didn’t understand why at first, we were still happy because the reduction in the concentration of the mist meant that our field of view was increased, allowing us to better spot the existence of those monsters.”
“However, when those creatures appeared in front of us, we realized that we had probably run into big trouble…”
At this point, Xu Fei’s face showed a trace of fear, and his words involuntarily paused.
Both Hu Hu and Liu Jinheng did not urge him, quietly waiting for him to continue.
After a long while, Xu Fei swallowed hard and said: “There were a total of seven huge monsters there.
The ground beneath Sheep Village had been trembling with thunderous roars, and I think, this time we have truly found their source…”
