Outside the city walls teemed many Demonic Beings. Beyond them, rifts to the Different Worlds existed. Some of these rifts were unstable and could suddenly erupt, allowing Demonic Beings to pour into the world of the Human Race from these Different Worlds.

Every invasion brought at least tens of thousands of Demonic Beings, sometimes hundreds of thousands, or even millions. If these forces could not be repelled, the entire city would fall and become territory of the Demonic Beings. The people within would become their food.

When an invasion from a Different World occurred, the only option for the Human Race was to resist, to defend themselves with their lives.
