Wrong Love, Final Goodbye: She'll Never Look Back
Chapter 10: The Little Red Flower Should Be Given to the Person You Like Most
CHAPTER 10: CHAPTER 10: THE LITTLE RED FLOWER SHOULD BE GIVEN TO THE PERSON YOU LIKE MOST
Tanya Sinclair remembered clearly, it was Vincent Hawthorne’s birthday that day, and they had just started dating not long ago.
Vincent promised to have dinner with her, so she spent three hours getting ready in advance, full of anticipation, waiting at the restaurant for Vincent to arrive.
In the end, she waited until late at night, and even when the restaurant closed, Vincent still hadn’t shown up.
She tried calling his phone but it was turned off. Worried that something might have happened to Vincent, Tanya made a special trip to his school to find him.
She crouched downstairs at the boys’ dormitory until dawn but didn’t see Vincent. Instead, she met his roommate Cody Crawford.
When Cody saw her, his expression was very strange, and he eventually stammered that Vincent had gone to the hospital last night...
Naively, she thought Vincent was sick and foolishly asked Cody not to tell him she had waited all night, fearing he’d worry.
But it turned out, that night she waited in vain, Vincent was accompanying Cindy Lynn!
Tanya Sinclair couldn’t take it any longer.
She squeezed her eyes shut hard; even breathing was painful.
That photo was etched in her mind, impossible to erase, like a sharp knife brutally stabbing into the softest, most hidden corner of her heart, leaving it bloody and raw.
She initially thought that during the five years she was in a coma, Cindy usurped the nest and she and Vincent, those dreadful cheats, just hit it off... but she hadn’t expected, they’d been involved long before!
Clearly, all those friends around Vincent were aware of Cindy’s existence!
In their eyes, Tanya Sinclair was just a pitiful and laughable clown!
Chills ran through Tanya’s heart.
She realized, Vincent had deliberately placed Cindy in the company to be her secretary!
So, even when she was pregnant and showing, Vincent was having an affair with Cindy behind her back!
That beast, how could he do this to her?!
Tanya’s heart felt like it was about to burst with sorrow and rage.
Daisy Bell hugged the trembling Tanya Sinclair compassionately.
"Tanya..."
Tanya forced down the emotions that were on the brink of breaking, squeezing out a smile at Daisy, "I’m okay."
Daisy wanted to say more, but her assistant knocked on the door outside, urging anxiously, "Ms. Daisy, we have to go! The paparazzi have found your location, and several fans are already downstairs! The company sent a car to pick us up."
Daisy couldn’t help but worry about Tanya.
Tanya nudged her to leave, "Go on, be good. You have plenty of rivals in the entertainment industry, don’t get caught and give them something to talk about."
Daisy put on her hat and mask, and before leaving, she solemnly instructed Tanya.
"Tanya, if that scumbag Vincent dares to bully you, I’ll expose him on Weibo!"
Her assistant was stunned hearing this, hastily dragging Daisy out.
"Oh my god, auntie, you complain about everything. The company’s taken over your Weibo account since yesterday."
Tanya couldn’t help but laugh and cry.
After Daisy left, Tanya sat for a while longer, collected her emotions, put on her sunglasses and hat again, took her blind cane, and left.
The Hawthorne family was big and powerful; naturally, she couldn’t let Daisy take risks for her to stand up.
Her issues, she’d resolve them herself.
Everything Vincent had done to belittle her, everything he owed her, she would make him pay back!
He wasn’t fit to be the father of her two children!
Tanya had just reached the corner of the corridor when she suddenly heard a sweet, baby-soft voice.
"Mommy Cindy, this is the red flower I got at kindergarten today. The teacher said I can give it to my favorite person."
Tanya’s pupils contracted in shock.
This voice... it was Joy!
But why was Joy here?
Vincent had clearly told her over the phone that after school, the kids were supposed to be sent to piano lessons!
Before Tanya could figure it out, Cindy’s gentle, smiling voice sounded.
"So, who does Joy plan on giving this little red flower to?"
Joy didn’t hesitate, "Of course, I’ll give it to mommy Cindy. I brought it specially. Besides my brother and daddy, my favorite is mommy Cindy!"
Listening to her daughter calling Cindy ’mommy’ with such sweetness, it felt like countless needles piercing into Tanya’s heart, hurting terribly.
"Mommy Cindy loves Joy the most too. This little red flower, mommy Cindy will treasure it." Cindy said with a smile, "Let’s head back, daddy and the others are waiting in the private room."
By ’daddy’, she naturally meant Vincent Hawthorne.
With such intimate, natural words, anyone listening would think they were one happy, loving family.
Tanya clenched her blind cane tightly, holding back the overwhelming emotions threatening to spiral out of control, while the sound of Cindy’s high heels came closer. She slipped into the nearby fire escape.
Through the crack of the door, Tanya watched as Cindy walked past, holding her daughter Joy’s hand.
Joy, dressed in an adorable princess dress, held Cindy’s hand, hopping and occasionally looking up to give Cindy the sweetest smile.
Tanya’s eyes moistened. Clearly, her precious daughter, whom she risked her life for, was now treating another woman as her mother.
Driven by an unknown impulse, Tanya followed quietly.
Cindy led Joy to the private room door. She pushed it open, and following them, Tanya heard the mingling laughter and teasing voices from inside, someone calling, "The little sister-in-law is here!"
That voice was familiar to her. It was Vincent’s childhood friend and college roommate, Cody Crawford.
From the moment she and Vincent started dating, Cody had never thought much of her, treating her coldly, and even with a bit of disdain and hostility. Even after she married Vincent, whenever they met, Cody would only call her Ms. Sinclair, neither warm nor cold.
Vincent once comforted her, saying Cody was just like that, a spoiled rich kid, and advised her not to bother with him...
"Heh..."
Tanya let out a mocking chuckle.
As Vincent’s college roommate, Cody must have known about Cindy’s existence all along. The reason Cody disliked her was that, in his mind, the one he recognized as sister-in-law was Cindy.
He thought she was occupying Cindy’s place.
Tanya suddenly felt utterly pathetic. Even though she was Vincent’s legal wife, in the minds of his rowdy friends, she was worth even less than the mistress!
Tanya stood in the corner, through the crack in the compartment door, she saw Vincent sitting on the sofa, his head slightly lowered as he looked at his phone. Her view was limited, and she didn’t see her son, Caden, inside.
"Daddy." Joy called sweetly, throwing herself into Vincent’s arms. The person beside Vincent immediately made room for Cindy.
"Oh, sorry, I didn’t notice and took the little sister-in-law’s seat."
Cindy gave a slightly shy smile but didn’t argue as she sat closely beside Vincent.
Joy pursed her small lips, laughing to herself. Meanwhile, she pulled Vincent’s big hand and placed it on Cindy’s hand, playfully saying, "Daddy, your hand is so warm. Mommy Cindy’s hand is cool. Warm it for her!"
The sight stirred unbearable pain and anger within Tanya, suffocating her chest.
During the five years she was in a coma, Cindy had become part of the household and brainwashed Joy into treating her as her real mom! And Vincent, her dear husband, had turned a blind eye all along...
No, perhaps this is exactly what Vincent wanted!
