Chapter 262: Ms. Sinclair Was Not Found
CHAPTER 262: CHAPTER 262: MS. SINCLAIR WAS NOT FOUND
Declan had just jumped out of the car when he received Tanya Sinclair’s call.
He had never heard her scream his name so desperately before; she was asking him for help...
Declan felt as if his heart had been seized by an invisible hand, gripping it tightly, his breath stalling.
"Tanya!"
But on the other end of the line, Tanya Sinclair’s voice was no longer there.
He heard a man’s sinister and arrogant laughter, filled with murderous intent.
"Tanya Sinclair, no one can save you!"
"Give her back to me." Declan suppressed the homicidal rage within his blood, negotiating coldly, "I’ll ensure your safe departure!"
Old Ninth King chuckled coldly, "Oh, you care about her so much... How about I chop her into pieces and send them to you."
Declan clenched his phone abruptly, veins bulging out on his hand.
"Old Ninth King!"
His response was the sound of a cell phone being violently crushed underfoot.
Declan’s originally dark eyes turned crimson almost instantly, like a sea of blood.
"President Pierce..." Janne Hayes felt like she was witnessing a murderous expression, terrified.
Not far away, dark clouds were closing in, the storm was about to break.
Ten minutes later, Officer Crawford arrived with a large group of policemen, only to find the Ferris wheel park entrance blocked by a group of men in black, with all tourists trapped inside, the occasional cries of children in confusion echoing.
"What’s going on?" Officer Crawford frowned as he led the negotiation upfront, unaware that another department had a mission here too.
To prevent a riot, his hand was already feeling for his gun.
At that moment, a familiar face appeared.
"Officer Crawford."
Officer Crawford looked at Zane Shaw approaching, puzzled and frowning, "Why is Barrister Shaw everywhere? Whose people are blocking this place? I’m telling you, there’s a very vicious criminal inside with several lives on his hands! They need to leave quickly, obstructing police work is a serious crime!"
Zane Shaw, in his long career, was rarely so drenched in sweat.
"Officer Crawford, these are The Pierce Family’s security group nicknamed Shadow Guard. You should have heard of them. They train with the special forces and, because of The Pierce Family’s special status, Shadow Guards have the privilege of carrying firearms domestically for protection."
Officer Crawford’s gaze swept over the group of black-clad bodyguards, his eyes showing anger: "I don’t care about The Pierce Family or not, does The Pierce Family think they can defy the heavens?! Do they want a shootout with the police?! Tell them to step aside, don’t obstruct police work. If any innocent citizens get hurt, can The Pierce Family bear that responsibility?!"
"Officer Crawford!" Zane Shaw called out to the officer attempting to break in, handing over his ringing phone, "You might want to take this call."
"..."
Officer Crawford took a deep breath and snatched the phone, answering impatiently, "Hello!"
"Officer Crawford, allow me to introduce myself, Zeke Pierce." A magnetic yet hoarse voice came from the other end, sounding weak, "My brother Declan represents The Pierce Family, accepting the police department’s invitation to assist in capturing the evildoers. Your chief will contact you personally later on."
"..." Officer Crawford gritted his molars, "Mr. Pierce, you treat lives like a joke!"
"Hehe..." Zeke Pierce chuckled twice, coughing weakly, "Cough, cough, Officer Crawford’s words have wronged my brother. Our family, Declan, he doesn’t even care about his own life. However, there is one person he idolizes. Now, his idol has encountered trouble, life or death uncertain. He’s somewhat uncontrollable, so I ask you to understand."
"Idol?" Officer Crawford’s brows furrowed, suddenly understanding, "You mean... Ms. Sinclair?"
Zeke Pierce hinted subtly, saying slowly: "The Pierce Family’s Shadow Guards only take orders from the Family Head. Rest assured, I will ensure that all citizens in the park remain unharmed."
"As for my brother..." Zeke Pierce spoke with meaningful emphasis, "I advise you not to provoke him at this crucial moment."
Officer Crawford’s face was dark as he tossed the phone back to Zane Shaw.
At this time, the bodyguards posted at the entrance seemed to have received orders, making way and allowing the citizens to exit.
An anxious elderly woman rushed out, hurriedly grabbing the police for help: "Officer, my granddaughter Abby is missing! Oh my, that wretched girl insisted on watching some performance, and when I turned my head to buy something, she vanished! You have to help me find her!"
She was the meal ticket and money tree for their whole family!!
The rain finally came pouring down.
Declan stood there clad in black, like a sharp shadow, his aura filled with murderous vibes.
"Uncle Pierce!" Caden’s small figure broke free from Aunt Tawny’s restraint and rushed to Declan.
"Uncle Pierce, where’s my mom?" He didn’t yet know what happened, only that he couldn’t find his mom, and suddenly there were so many people here.
Moreover, his sister had just called saying she was tired, and went back to rest with Aunt Cindy.
But wasn’t his sister with their mom?!
Caden vaguely guessed something, his little hand clutching Declan’s clothes tightly, his bright black eyes slowly welling up with tears of fear.
"Uncle Pierce, where did my mom go? I want my mom..." He tried to hold back his tears but choked.
Declan reached out, his fingers cold, wiping away the large tear drops from Caden’s eyes, yet he didn’t utter a single word.
Aunt Tawny hurriedly came over at this point, dragging Caden over from Declan’s side and into her embrace.
She didn’t know Declan, unaware of his identity, only feeling that the stunningly handsome young man before her was terrifying and frightening.
And surrounded by a group of black-clad bodyguards, all armed... this was no joke!
"Be good, Caden, this uncle has... he has things to do. Let’s not provoke him... Mom surely left first, you go home with Aunt Tawny." Aunt Tawny stammered, picking up Caden and heading out.
Luckily, the bodyguards didn’t stop her.
"President Pierce..." Janne Hayes braced herself to report, "The entire Ferris wheel park has been searched, all places where someone could hide, but we didn’t find Ms. Sinclair..."
