Wrong Love, Final Goodbye: She'll Never Look Back
Chapter 280: I Brought Him the Best Medicine
CHAPTER 280: CHAPTER 280: I BROUGHT HIM THE BEST MEDICINE
Officer Crawford drove over and saw three cars parked by the roadside. One of them stopped right in front of Tanya, as if intending to take her away.
"Ms. Sinclair! Who are you people?" Officer Crawford immediately opened the door and got out, intending to question their identity.
But several men in black got out of a black sedan parked at the back, directly blocking Officer Crawford.
Tanya wanted to explain the situation to Officer Crawford, but she was stopped by Seth Yates.
"Ms. Sinclair, please get in the car. I’ll handle the negotiation."
He sounded like he was negotiating, but Seth Yates remained motionless, firmly blocking Tanya.
And Seth Yates, represented the will of Zeke Pierce.
Tanya looked at Zeke Pierce inside the car, feeling a bit heavy-hearted.
This seemingly frail and harmless man actually held absolute control over everything... The reason he could allow Declan Pierce to return to The Pierce Family and share power was merely because he needed Declan Pierce’s blood.
Tanya got into the car.
The car door was immediately locked shut.
Zeke Pierce didn’t wait for Seth Yates but directly instructed the driver, "Drive."
The windows on both sides were covered by opaque curtains, making it impossible to see outside. The driver raised the partition between the front and back seats, turning the back seat into an almost enclosed space, with only her and Zeke Pierce.
Tanya shifted slightly to the side and asked, "How is Declan?"
Zeke Pierce, while distractedly dealing with messages on his phone, nonchalantly responded, "Don’t worry, he won’t die. Even if he wanted to, The Pierce Family wouldn’t let him."
His casual attitude made Tanya frown.
"Because he supplies your blood?"
Zeke Pierce looked up from his phone upon hearing this, glanced at Tanya, and smiled ambiguously.
"Is Ms. Sinclair... feeling sorry?"
Tanya: "..."
He lightly said, "A street girl’s illegitimate child, able to bear the Pierce surname... the one who should be grateful is Declan."
Tanya sneered, retorting, "Mr. Pierce is so humorous. Given that you know Declan’s birth mother was a street girl, what does that make your father who had relations with her? Between a prostitute and a client, who is more noble? Don’t tell me it was the street girl who seduced your dad... ugh!"
Tanya’s words were cut off as Zeke Pierce suddenly grabbed her neck.
No trace of anger was seen on his face, he even wore a smile, but his grip on Tanya’s neck gradually tightened.
"Ms. Sinclair is so protective of my brother that he should be quite gratified if he knew. But there’s one thing I must remind you. Not all The Pierce Family members are like Declan." Zeke Pierce watched Tanya’s face turn purple from the choke, his smile deepening as he leaned closer cruelly, "I hope next time, Ms. Sinclair knows what to say and what not to say."
Every word dripped with the arrogance of someone in absolute power.
If Declan’s cruelty was displayed for all to see, making others fear him.
Then Zeke Pierce was the kind who kills as gently as if flirting.
Just when Tanya thought she might be strangled to death, Zeke Pierce released his grip and fell back into his seat.
Air rushed back in, making Tanya cough, while Zeke Pierce, the instigator, nonchalantly twisted open a bottle of water and offered it to her considerately.
Tanya glared at him and refused to take it.
Zeke Pierce wasn’t in the least bit offended at her outright rejection, instead, he took a sip himself.
About half an hour later, the car stopped.
The car door opened, and Tanya saw Seth Yates standing outside, nodding politely at her.
Seth Yates: "Ms. Sinclair, please."
Once Tanya got out, she realized the car had brought her directly to Phoenix Court, where Declan was staying.
There was a sound from behind her.
Tanya turned around and was momentarily taken aback by the scene before her.
Two men in black retrieved a wheelchair from the back seat, while Seth Yates opened the built-in handrail in the car door to assist Zeke Pierce in transferring from the seat to the wheelchair.
The most mysterious and youngest heir of The Pierce Family was actually wheelchair-bound!
Tanya withdrew her gaze.
Having nearly been strangled by him just moments ago, she certainly wouldn’t be foolish enough to sympathize with Zeke Pierce.
Seth Yates pushed Zeke Pierce’s wheelchair forward, with Tanya trailing carefully beside.
As they reached the door, it opened first, and a medical team emerged. The leading doctor looked familiar to Tanya; she recalled he was Dr. Finch, a top-notch surgical expert in the country.
She had read several of his academic papers and found them quite beneficial.
"Mr. Pierce." Dr. Finch, two cycles older than Declan, was still very respectful in front of him.
"Thank you, Dr. Finch," Zeke Pierce acknowledged with a smile.
"It’s nothing, Mr. Pierce, you’re too kind," Dr. Finch adjusted his glasses, "Second Young Master’s wounds are healing well. But..."
Zeke Pierce suddenly raised his hand to interrupt him, glanced at a nurse behind Dr. Finch, and smiled, "Could this nurse kindly take Ms. Sinclair to see Declan?"
Tanya knew he was deliberately sending her away, but she indeed wanted to see Declan as soon as possible, so she followed the nurse inside.
Once she left, Zeke Pierce signaled Dr. Finch to continue.
"Mr. Pierce, Second Young Master’s injuries are too severe. If we continue extracting blood at the usual rate this month, I’m afraid he won’t be able to hold out. Perhaps we should reduce the blood extraction volume slightly." Dr. Finch cautiously watched Zeke Pierce’s face.
Zeke Pierce fiddled with the jade ring on his thumb and laughed lightly.
"Dr. Finch, you truly are compassionate. But have you forgotten..." Zeke Pierce raised his eyes and fixed him with a chilling stare, instantly exuding a dangerous aura, "I am your employer."
Dr. Finch swallowed hard, "Mr. Pierce, it’s just a suggestion. I’m worried that if we draw too much, Declan’s body will become overly weakened and he may fall ill. Like the time abroad, when he suddenly lost the will to live..."
"That’s not your concern." Zeke Pierce smiled slightly, looking in the direction where Tanya had disappeared, and said slowly, "I’ve already brought him the best medicine."
