Wrong Love, Final Goodbye: She'll Never Look Back
Chapter 50: Balancing Kindness and Authority
CHAPTER 50: CHAPTER 50: BALANCING KINDNESS AND AUTHORITY
Aunt Lewis had just reached the entrance when she heard this, and turned her head, almost doubting her ears.
"Madam, what do you mean by this?" Aunt Lewis asked incredulously, running back to Tanya Sinclair and began to feign misery, "I’ve worked in this house for two years, diligently and without complaint. How could you..."
Tanya Sinclair didn’t bother with idle talk, and directly showed the surveillance video on her phone, placing it in front of her.
Aunt Lewis looked down, confused, and saw evidence on the video of herself swapping ingredients in the kitchen over the past few days!
Her previously pitiful expression froze abruptly on her face, her old features twisted slightly.
"Do you have anything else to say?" Tanya Sinclair leaned sideways on the sofa, resting her head on one hand, giving her a faint look.
She appeared gentle, but her aura as the mistress was strong, and there was an intimidating sense of pressure emanating from her clear eyes.
"..."
Aunt Lewis clenched her palms tightly, her face clouded, and suddenly turned into the kitchen silently, rummaging around, finally finding a thumb-sized surveillance camera in a hidden corner!
She squeezed it viciously, "So, it’s hidden here!"
Before Tanya Sinclair returned, there was no surveillance in the kitchen! Tanya must have set it up afterward!
And she had been in and out of the kitchen many times a day but never noticed it, this little thing was hidden so well... but how could a blind person accomplish that?
"I see now, you were never blind!" Aunt Lewis rushed out, throwing the camera in front of Tanya Sinclair, angrily threatening, "I’ll go tell Mr. Hawthorne now, you deceitful woman, you’ve been acting all along!"
"Ha." Tanya Sinclair laughed, raising her eyebrows as she looked at her, "A nanny who swaps ingredients dares complain about the mistress? Who gave you the courage?"
A glint of pride flashed in Aunt Lewis’s eyes, ready to speak up, but Tanya Sinclair spoke first.
"It’s Cindy Lynn, isn’t it?"
"So what if it is?" Having already torn off the facade, Aunt Lewis didn’t bother pretending and sat opposite Tanya Sinclair, crossing her legs and smirked coldly, "You’ve been Mrs. Hawthorne for two years, but Ms. Lynn has been here for five. In both Mr. Hawthorne’s and the children’s hearts, Ms. Lynn carries more weight than you, the wife!"
Tanya Sinclair’s expression remained indifferent, only showing a slight ripple in her eyes upon hearing the mention of the two children.
The next second, her gaze turned cold. She splashed the hot tea directly onto Aunt Lewis’s face.
Aunt Lewis stood up screaming, about to explode, when Tanya Sinclair picked up a brown paper bag beside her and tossed it in front of her.
The photos inside the bag scattered all over the floor.
Aunt Lewis wiped the tea leaves off her eyelids, her face turning pale as she saw who was in the photos.
Those were her two little grandsons...
Aunt Lewis hurriedly picked up the photos from the ground, seeing them going to school, coming home from school... all clearly captured.
Tanya Sinclair calmly said, "Aunt Lewis, your two little grandsons are quite cute. But little kids are easy to wander off, might get lost one day... you can try, and see if your favored Ms. Lynn can find them then."
Tanya Sinclair leaned closer to the pale Aunt Lewis, removing a tea leaf from her hair, causing Aunt Lewis to shiver involuntarily.
Tanya Sinclair smiled, ’kindly’ reminding, "So Aunt Lewis, you’d best go home and take good care of your grandkids."
"..."
No matter how cherished Cindy Lynn was, she was still a mistress, whereas Tanya Sinclair was undeniably Mrs. Hawthorne.
The Hawthorne Family’s wealth and power were unmistakable; if Tanya Sinclair, as Mrs. Hawthorne, wanted to do something to the two kids, she couldn’t possibly stop her.
Aunt Lewis didn’t dare gamble with her two precious grandsons.
She finally realized, Tanya Sinclair wasn’t as fragile as she seemed, on the contrary, she was terrifying!
Aunt Lewis swallowed hard, her legs turning to jelly as she sat back down, all traces of her earlier arrogance gone.
"Madam, I... I’ll do as you say."
She now saw Tanya Sinclair as akin to a monstrous flood.
Tanya Sinclair leaned back on the sofa, her tone slightly cold, "I don’t wish for a single word of our conversation today to get out."
Aunt Lewis, looking at the photos of her grandsons, wouldn’t dare argue, "Rest assured, Madam, I won’t breathe a word."
Tanya Sinclair pulled out a bank card and pushed it toward her.
"Inside is your four months’ salary, consider it recognition for taking care of Caden and Joy these two years."
Of course, Aunt Lewis wouldn’t turn down the money, and she gratefully accepted it, "Thank you, Madam!"
Using both threat and reward was most effective in dealing with someone like Aunt Lewis.
Tanya Sinclair stood up and glanced at the disordered kitchen.
"Before you leave, do clean up," she instructed, then went upstairs.
With Aunt Lewis taken care of, she had to officially return to the company on Monday, the house needed a new nanny.
Tanya Sinclair was about to call the old lady, asking for someone to be sent over from her side.
Firstly, Vincent Hawthorne wouldn’t object; secondly, she trusted the old lady’s judgment.
But before she could dial, Daisy Bell’s call came in first.
Tanya Sinclair answered, before she had a chance to speak, Daisy Bell’s excited voice reached her ears.
"Tanya, haha, I have great news, Yvonne Hawthorne is really famous now! Look at what I sent you!"
Tanya Sinclair: "?"
She clicked on the video Daisy Bell sent in confusion and couldn’t help but burst out laughing.
The video was short; it showed Yvonne Hawthorne being slapped to the ground by Father Hawthorne, but somehow someone had creatively turned it into a fifteen-second comedic video.
Daisy Bell was delighted, "I don’t know where this video came from, but it’s gone viral online, hahaha, Yvonne Hawthorne is completely famous! Serves her right for hitting you, she deserves to be slapped repeatedly!"
"..."
Tanya Sinclair froze on the frame of Father Hawthorne’s furious face, her brow slightly furrowed.
Yvonne Hawthorne was the only girl of this generation in The Hawthorne Family, rather cherished at home.
Father Hawthorne had always indulged Yvonne, why would he hit her so harshly?
Tanya Sinclair recalled Vincent Hawthorne mentioning yesterday that two of Father Hawthorne’s listed companies were maliciously sold off, and then looked at Yvonne getting beaten... could these two events be related?
"Tanya, I think heaven is helping you," Daisy Bell joyfully said from the other end of the phone, "Whoever bullies you gets what they deserve!"
Is heaven really helping her?
Although Tanya Sinclair didn’t believe in such a thing, she couldn’t think of a better explanation.
She smiled lightly, "Then let’s thank heaven."
"By the way, Tanya, are you free today?" Daisy Bell suddenly asked, "I’m at a brand event near Marinus Park, do you want to come and have some fun?"
Marinus Park?
Caden and Joy were just over there.
Tanya Sinclair considered for two seconds and said, "Alright."
She would be officially returning to the company next week, and Daisy Bell would be busy with work too; they might not have much time to meet thereafter. Moreover, she wanted to see the two children’s joyful faces.
She had already missed too much of Caden and Joy’s growth.
Now, even if she could only watch from afar, she would be satisfied.
