Young Master Vance Has An Enchanting Wife
Chapter 21: This Woman Is Truly Mind-Blowing
CHAPTER 21: CHAPTER 21: THIS WOMAN IS TRULY MIND-BLOWING
Audrey Vance didn’t dare to settle accounts with Vincent Vance; everyone knew his temper. With no other option, Audrey had to ask their father to stand up for her.
From the moment he entered, Vincent deliberately entwined his fingers with May Morgan’s, appearing very intimate.
May felt extremely awkward, after all, Audrey was Adam Owens’s stepmother sitting opposite her. But when she tried to pull her hand away from his broad grasp, she was met with a warning look from him.
Fine, alright, she couldn’t win against this man.
"May, call her ’Aunt,’" Vincent instructed May, after leading her to sit opposite Audrey Vance.
Previously, May was on the same terms as Adam and called Audrey "Auntie," but now suddenly changing to "Aunt," the meaning was evident without explanation.
May looked at Audrey’s livid face, opened her mouth, yet couldn’t utter a word.
With sharp eyes, Audrey glared at Vincent, complaining, "Vincent, why did you have to treat Adam that way?"
Vincent smirked, his voice indifferent, "He was being disrespectful to my woman, so I warned him. Is there a problem with that?"
"Your, your woman?" Audrey looked at May with suspicion, only to see May bowing her head, clearly too afraid to meet her gaze.
"May and I are married. Here’s the marriage certificate." Vincent calmly placed two bright red marriage certificates on the coffee table, signaling Audrey to take a look.
Audrey’s jaw nearly dropped in shock. They were truly married? How did it happen so fast?
"May, shouldn’t you give me an explanation?" Audrey knew that May and Adam had been dating for five years. The girl was obedient and sensible, and the Owens Family had no major objections, just waiting for May to graduate to hold the wedding. Unexpectedly, this woman suddenly attached herself to Vincent? How could the Owens Family endure that?
May awkwardly kept her head down, remaining silent. Audrey usually treated her well, and at that moment, she didn’t know how to explain to her.
Was it because Vincent forced her? But she clearly fell for his trick, and he didn’t even say Adam was in his hands.
"May and I love each other. Aunt, what more explanation do you need?" Seeing May lower her head, Vincent spoke up.
Audrey smirked with anger, just about to speak, when Logan Vance suddenly helped their grandfather, Arthur Vance, down from the second floor.
"Since you and May are in love, what about Melanie? After all, you had an engagement." Arthur coldly glanced at Vincent, scolding him.
"Melanie was caught cheating on me, and I caught her in the act. Such a woman, I won’t have." Vincent looked up into his grandfather’s stern eyes, speaking casually.
Beside him, Logan faintly smiled, helping their grandfather sit properly on the sofa while questioning Vincent, "You said Melanie was cheating? But she denies it. Truth and lies must be clarified by asking her, right?"
Vincent’s eyes darkened, just about to speak when Logan quickly added to their grandfather, "Grandfather, earlier this morning, Melanie came to me, saying her sister framed her for having an affair, deliberately letting Vincent catch her. She strongly wishes to come and explain to you. Would you like to let her in?"
Arthur looked at Vincent and May’s faces, pondering, "Our Vance Family is most reasonable and principled. Since she claims she’s been wronged, let her come in and clarify."
Upon hearing this, Logan immediately instructed the servant, "Go bring Melanie over."
It turned out Logan had already summoned Melanie and was lying in wait for Vincent to appear. Vincent shot Logan a deep look but remained silent.
Cornered by Logan’s maneuver, he felt a bit passive. Once Melanie arrived, the matter of the Jade Pendant might get exposed.
But even so, he had to stay still and wait to see how Logan would make his move.
Melanie was soon brought in by the servant. The moment he saw Melanie, Vincent subtly squeezed May’s fingers, signaling her to watch her words and actions.
May glanced down at his hand firmly holding hers, saying nothing.
"Melanie, you claim to be wronged, but Vincent personally witnessed your indiscretion with another. How do you explain this?"
Arthur looked at Melanie with authority, sternly questioning her.
Melanie quickly rolled her eyes, eagerly reciting the pre-rehearsed lines, "Grandfather, last night I was merely at a bar discussing business, not what Vincent saw. I did nothing wrong. I’m innocent."
Her shameless denial made May’s worldview crumble. She did nothing? But what about when you were kneeling beneath that man?
Thinking about the scene she witnessed in the private room last night made May’s stomach churn.
She was baffled. How could Melanie do something like that?
"Do you think I’m blind?" Vincent’s eyebrows twitched, sternly rebuking.
Frightened, Melanie trembled and hurriedly explained, "It’s really not what you saw. I, I was drunk last night... It was all her, if she hadn’t deliberately led you over, how would you misunderstand me with that man? Vincent, you must believe me, I did nothing wrong."
As she spoke emotionally, Melanie suddenly collapsed to her knees in front of Vincent, desperately begging, "Vincent, don’t be deceived by this woman, May. I didn’t do anything to wrong you."
"Get lost!" Vincent glared at Melanie with disdain, kicking her away.
At that moment, everyone witnessed the ruthlessness in Vincent’s eyes.
Arthur, seeing this, knew that no matter what, Vincent would never take Melanie back. He could only cough dryly and say, "Melanie, even though our Vance Family won’t wrongly accuse a good person for no reason, neither will we let a bad person off easily. Whatever you did, reflect on it yourself."
Logan, witnessing this, also calmly advised, "Melanie, I suggest you give up. It’s obvious my brother won’t marry you, further explanations are useless."
Hearing this, Melanie ultimately knelt on the ground in despair, at a loss. She didn’t want to lose Vincent, her golden patron, because not only was he wealthy and powerful, but also handsome. Where else could she find such a man? The key was, even if she had to let go, she could never let this slut have him.
Since Vincent no longer felt the old affection for her, he couldn’t blame her for being ungracious.
"Grandfather, the Jade Pendant I gave you earlier was actually a counterfeit. The real pendant is on May."
Knowing there was no hope for reconciliation, a cold smile crossed Melanie’s lips as she ruthlessly exposed the truth about the Jade Pendant to Arthur.
May, shocked at what she heard, widened her eyes. She had not anticipated Melanie would reveal the Jade Pendant matter now. After all, once the counterfeit pendant issue was exposed, Melanie would also bear some guilt.
