CHAPTER 26: CHAPTER 26: BITCH, GO DIE

Looking at the quiet, pale green toothpaste resting on the toothbrush, May Morgan suddenly felt an indescribable feeling.

Yesterday, Adam Owens was hospitalized because of Vincent Vance, and his aunt said he’s still having a fever. Although Adam Owens had treated her poorly before, May Morgan thought she should go to the hospital to see him.

However, if she told Vincent Vance about this idea, he would definitely refuse without any reservation.

Therefore, she would have to go secretly and come back quietly.

May Morgan grabbed her phone. With nobody around in the house, she quickly sent a message to Adam Owens: ’Adam, are you still in the hospital? I want to come and see you, is that okay?’

After a while, Adam Owens replied with a message: "I’ve been discharged from the hospital already. I heard from Aunt that you and Vincent got married, is that true? May, what’s going on? Can you meet with me? I want to hear you say it in person."

This matter was something May Morgan couldn’t explain to Adam Owens all at once, but they’ve been together for five years, and such feelings aren’t easy to break off.

"Let’s meet, I’ll explain it to you."

"Alright, let’s meet at Sunlight Inn. I’ll send you the room number, come and find me." Adam Owens quickly sent May Morgan the detailed address they had agreed upon.

May Morgan hesitated slightly while looking at the address before responding, "Okay, I’ll be there shortly."

To go see Adam Owens, she’d first have to get past Vincent Vance. May Morgan had no choice but to toughen up and lie to him.

Vincent Vance was in the study doing work. She tentatively knocked on the door outside, and Vincent’s steady voice immediately came from inside: "Come in."

At the moment of opening the door, she saw him seated at the large desk, attentively reviewing the towering documents. His slender legs elegantly crossed, and the sunlight reversed over his broad shoulders like a deity.

He was really handsome, so handsome it was difficult to look away, whether sitting or standing, every gesture commanded attention.

Even though she had many opinions about his character, his unmatched beauty made May Morgan involuntarily swallow.

"Something wrong?" Seeing May just staring at him without speaking, Vincent put down the pen, smiling with hidden amusement and asked.

The hint of mischief in his eyes made May feel very embarrassed, and she cleared her throat before quickly steering to the main topic: "Well, I left some things in my dorm at school, and I want to go get them."

Seemingly skeptical of her words, Vincent examined her, then solemnly asked, "What did you lose? I’ll have Jacob Jennings help you retrieve it."

"No, no need, it’s things women use, Jacob Jennings is a big man, wouldn’t it be awkward for him?" May quickly gestured with her hand.

Vincent crossed his arms and looked at her face, obviously not believing her: "Things women use? Sanitary pads? Those don’t matter, I’ll have someone buy more for you."

Sanitary pads?

May Morgan looked at Vincent Vance, her mind blank, unsure of what to say.

"Forget it, forget it, if you don’t want to, I...I won’t go out." Feeling uncomfortable from his gaze, May quickly backed down again.

"Hmm, if there’s nothing else, then leave."

Vincent, satisfied, picked up his pen, his focus returning to the documents on the table, ending the conversation between them.

What?

May Morgan widened her eyes, almost angered to death. How could this bastard not play by the rules? She had already backed down; shouldn’t he kindly agree to let her go?

"Well, well..." May Morgan was unwilling to give up. She had promised to meet Adam Owens later; if she didn’t leave now, she would stand him up. Besides, she and Vincent Vance were only married by agreement, eventually, she would regain her freedom. If Adam misunderstood her, she wouldn’t be able to clear it up later.

"Anything else?" Vincent, seeing her standing there without speaking or leaving, deliberately glanced at her with a question.

"I... I think my dad is not feeling well, I... I want to go see him."

Without a better excuse, May Morgan had to bring up her deadbeat dad as a shield.

This time, Vincent Vance directly put down his pen, looking at her seriously with his arms crossed.

"Are you... sure?"

His eyes narrowed, his penetrating gaze making May feel unsure.

"Well, no matter what, he’s still my dad, isn’t he?" May nervously played with her hands, desperately looking for a reason.

Vincent looked down at her intertwined fingers, knowing she resorted to this habitual action when lying — he was too familiar with it.

However, since she was determined to go out, there had to be something going on.

"Go ahead." Vincent picked up his pen, casually speaking without raising his head.

"Really?" May Morgan thought she heard wrong, quickly widening her eyes and looking at him.

"No, it’s fake." He looked at her with some displeasure, seemingly upset by her skepticism.

"Thank you." May Morgan reacted quickly, not waiting for him to speak again, she quickly said thank you and swiftly closed the door as she left.

Watching her swiftly leaving figure, Vincent’s face darkened, reaching out to press the button nearby: "Jacob Jennings, have someone follow May Morgan."

Sunlight Inn was located in the outskirts, in a relatively remote area with an unfavorable environment. May Morgan didn’t understand why Adam Owens chose such a place to meet, but she couldn’t think of much more now. Since she was here, she would definitely meet him no matter what.

After they met, if he couldn’t let go of what happened between her and Vincent, she’d choose to give up the five-year relationship.

But if he chose to believe her, she’d then find a way to break up with Vincent Vance and return to Adam Owens.

She quickly arrived at the room Adam Owens specified at the Inn, full of anticipation as she knocked on the door.

However, when the door opened, May Morgan didn’t see Adam Owens but saw Melanie Morgan smirking.

At that moment, May Morgan instinctively felt she had been tricked, quickly turning to escape, but before she could run away, a man at the door pushed her inside.

"Sister, you came quickly."

After being pushed into the room, Melanie Morgan smugly walked to her, pinching and twisting her enviable small face with force.

Enduring the pain inflicted by Melanie, May gritted her teeth and questioned her: "Where is Adam Owens?"

"Slap!" Melanie Morgan slapped May on the face, laughing even more wildly: "Fool, you still have the heart to care for others at a time like this."

"Why did you deceive me?" Knowing that she had been tricked, May Morgan couldn’t help but ask her.

"Why? You tell me why? When you framed me, you should have realized that you’d end up like this sooner or later!"

Framed? She was caught cheating, her own indiscretion, so how could she blame this on May?
