Young Master Vance Has An Enchanting Wife
Chapter 30: Trade Your Woman for Mine
CHAPTER 30: CHAPTER 30: TRADE YOUR WOMAN FOR MINE
A swarm of journalists quickly surrounded them, enveloping Vincent Vance and May Morgan completely, while Jacob Jennings and others hurriedly came over to clear the scene.
Vincent took large strides toward the corridor entrance, but he did not rush to get into the car and leave. Instead, he held May tightly, her head buried in his embrace to avoid being photographed, turning to face the journalists trying to approach aggressively.
"This is my wife, May. We’re simply enjoying some marital pleasures. Do any of you have a problem with that?"
As soon as he said this, the journalists immediately gasped, and the flashbulbs started flickering rapidly. A curious journalist quickly asked Vincent, "Young Master Vance, is your wife feeling unwell? Why is she afraid to face our cameras? Can she show her face for a photo of you two together?"
Vincent’s lips twitched slightly as he slowly began to speak, "Of course."
Nani?
Nestled in Vincent’s arms, May suddenly felt something was off. Weren’t they supposed to avoid being photographed? Why was Vincent agreeing to let the journalists take her picture?
The large hand around her waist suddenly pinched her maliciously, causing May to almost jump out of Vincent’s embrace in pain.
"Come on, honey, be good and let them take a picture." Vincent looked down at the almost furious May, smiling smugly.
As soon as May raised her head from Vincent’s arms, the cameras in the journalists’ hands swiftly clicked away.
The deep affection displayed between her and Vincent in those photos would be seen by the whole nation within two hours.
Vincent, you jerk, how dare you play me? Just you wait!
May was furious and pinched Vincent’s arm, wishing she could twist off a piece in anger. As Vincent got in the car, he threatened her in a low voice, "If you want to keep squeezing, be careful, or I’ll break your arm."
"You big liar!"
When she was roughly shoved into the car, May finally understood Vincent’s cunning plan. Hmph, although those journalists were summoned by Melanie to retaliate against her, Eldest Master Vance had the power to disperse a crowd of journalists with just a word, didn’t he?
Why didn’t he do that? He clearly wanted to drag her down and leave no escape route for her.
"Liar? Who was it that tricked me into visiting your father’s illness, only to meet your little lover instead?" Vincent shot a fierce look her way, instantly silencing May’s protests.
May puffed up her cheeks but stayed silent for a while; fine, this time it’s her fault, she admitted it.
"I was wrong..."
After hesitating for a moment, May lowered her head, aware of her own mistakes, and apologized silently.
Vincent did not respond. She waited quietly for a while, but received no words of forgiveness from him, feeling somewhat frustrated, she raised her head, only to find him reclining in the soft leather seat, resting with his eyes closed.
"Knowing you’re wrong, don’t let it happen again. However, I won’t let this go easily."
After a while, Vincent suddenly spoke slowly.
Not letting it go is surely good. Melanie has harmed her like this, she naturally wouldn’t let it go either. But Melanie is so rampant only because Logan is backing her. Trying to deal with her might not be so easy?
"You... what do you plan to do?"
Vincent laughed coldly, opening his eyes with disdain, "I have my ways."
He spoke, then glanced at May again, reaching out to gently touch her slightly swollen face, which had been slapped by Melanie, his heart aching.
"Remember, you’re Vincent Vance’s woman from now on. Anyone who dares to touch you won’t have an easy time."
As night fell, Vincent took May to the most luxurious private club in Silverwood City, the Night Phoenix Palace.
It was May’s first time in such a place, and she was stunned by the lavish and exquisite décor upon entry. Gazing at the heavy Roman columns and grand Baroque flooring, May’s eyes couldn’t take it all in.
Feeling somewhat nervous, she tugged on Vincent’s hand and asked him in a low voice, "Do you come to places like this often?"
She hadn’t seen much, but had heard of some unsightly things in such high-end private clubs. Thinking about Vincent frequenting such places made her uncomfortable.
Vincent looked down at her, noticing a hint of emotion, and reassured her with a pat on her head, "Not often. Mainly brought you here to meet someone today."
"Meet who?" May thought, men who frequent places like this can’t be good.
"You’ll know when you meet them."
They took the elevator to the top floor of the Night Phoenix Palace and arrived at a private room.
The two black-suited bodyguards at the door opened the room for Eldest Master Vance, "Young Master Vance, our boss has been waiting for a long time."
After Vincent led May inside, she saw a man about Vincent’s age sitting on the sofa, holding a tall wine glass, savoring the red wine.
The man was dressed in a black suit, thin but sturdy, obviously someone who could fight well. With sharply defined features, his handsome face carried a solitary arrogance, exuding a ’no strangers allowed’ vibe.
He glanced at the two of them, paused for a few seconds when his gaze fell on May’s face.
"Is this your new wife?" The man put down his wine glass, a smile blooming on his lips. He didn’t stand up, just gestured to Vincent to sit down.
Vincent sat down with May on the sofa, "Victor Grant, is Melanie with you?"
Victor paused slightly, then chuckled wickedly, ’Indeed, she just served me, she’s quite skilled.’
He said, deliberately casting an invasive glance at May’s delicate and pretty face, which made May feel entirely uncomfortable.
May found his gaze somewhat sinister, and sitting opposite him made her feel very awkward.
Vincent’s eyes showed displeasure as he pulled May into his arms, his voice turning cold, "Hand her over."
Victor smiled defiantly, reclining against the soft sofa, ’You want me to hand her over just because you say so? What for?’
"Name your price."
"Money doesn’t interest me." Victor drank the wine in his hand, his eyes wickedly fixed on May, "How about a trade? Cloud Master Vance, what do you think?"
Vincent frowned in displeasure, "What do you want?"
Vincent knew Victor’s character very well. Since he didn’t want money, it had to be something else...
"You want my woman, trade her for yours, how about it, fair, right?"
