Young Master Vance Has An Enchanting Wife
Chapter 36: Remember, From Now On You Are My Woman
CHAPTER 36: CHAPTER 36: REMEMBER, FROM NOW ON YOU ARE MY WOMAN
Vincent Vance gave a helpless smile, bent down gently to put her on the bed, and sat down himself: "Alright, is it fine if I don’t touch you tonight?"
Hmph, that’s more like it!
But, late at night, with a man and a woman alone together...
May Morgan thought that staring at each other like this with Vincent was bound to lead to something eventually, so she had to find something to do. But what could she do? The only entertainment at Monica Lambert’s place, besides the computer, was the TV.
The computer was in the bedroom, and watching a movie together made it more likely to lead to trouble. In that case, the only option left was to watch TV in the living room.
"I’m going to watch some TV in the living room." May hurriedly climbed out of bed, slipped on her slippers, and quickly ran to watch TV.
It was almost eleven o’clock, and there was nothing interesting on TV. She flipped through the channels with the remote, but there wasn’t anything good to watch. In the end, she had no choice but to settle on the cartoon channel, watching out of boredom.
Vincent used the bathroom at Monica Lambert’s place for a quick wash. When he came out, he was all dressed. He glanced at May, who was still sitting in the living room, looking disdainful: "Go take a shower."
"No, I’m not dirty." May stubbornly continued to curl up on the sofa, not moving an inch.
Vincent gave her a look but didn’t force her, anyway he hadn’t planned to touch her tonight. Let her be.
He picked up the bag of snacks on the coffee table, put it in May’s hands, and signaled to her: "Pick what you like and eat."
May took the snack bag, casually rummaged through it, and didn’t find anything she liked. This guy clearly didn’t know how to woo a girl. Who buys lemon slices and avocado for a girl?
"There’s nothing I like." May sighed speechlessly and casually tossed the snack bag back to Vincent.
Vincent looked through the bag, picked up a small packet of lemon slices, and asked her: "How do you eat this?"
May looked at him speechlessly, thinking, you bought it, you’re asking me?
"Maybe... chew on it?" An evil thought suddenly flashed through her mind, and May deliberately led Vincent on.
Vincent examined it, tore open the package, took out a slice of lemon, and was about to try it when he noticed the mischievous grin on May’s lips and immediately pulled it back.
"Here, let hubby feed you!"
He grabbed May’s arm, held her in place, and forced the lemon slice into her mouth.
Immediately, the unbearable bitterness invaded May’s mouth, and boy was it sour.
"Ugh, you bastard, big bad guy!"
She cursed Vincent’s despicable move and struggled to spit the thing out of her mouth.
"Not tasty?" Vincent asked her with a smile.
May looked at the imaginary wagging tail behind him, grinding her teeth in anger.
"Tasty, very tasty, why don’t you try it?" Feeling unwilling, May grabbed a lemon slice and aimed to shove it into his mouth, insisting he try it too.
She lunged at Vincent, pinning him down on the sofa, and Vincent opportunistically wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her closer.
"Do you like being on top?" Vincent whispered in her ear, his breath warm.
"Up your ass!" May knew trouble was bound to follow if they got too close. Terrified, she quickly lifted her leg and scampered off him, embarrassed.
"Hey, are you really not leaving tonight?" May turned to see Vincent hugging a pillow, seeming quite content watching cartoons with her, and couldn’t resist trying to shoo him away.
"Mm!"
Was the cartoon truly captivating, or was he just too lazy to bother with her? Either way, even with wholehearted efforts to send him away, he only responded with a non-committal "Mm."
May bit her lip in frustration, unwilling to give up: "Monica Lambert’s bed isn’t as comfortable as yours."
"Having you is enough!" Vincent wrapped his big hand around May’s small shoulder, pulling her into his arms. He looked down at her smooth forehead, feeling a surge of affection, just about to bend down for a gentle kiss, but May instinctively dodged away.
"Then don’t touch me." She glared at him, looking as if she was preparing for a battle.
Vincent chuckled silently, withdrawing his arm, unable to help teasing her: "You haven’t even showered, and I’m not desperate enough to touch a pig."
You bastard, who are you calling a pig? Why haven’t I showered? Isn’t it because I’m worried you’ll try something on me at night?
A pillow was thrown violently over Vincent’s head as May angrily shouted at him: "Fine, I’m a pig, have the guts to ditch me then!"
Vincent snatched the pillow from her hand, then lifted her off the sofa and onto his lap: "It’s okay, pigs have strong fertility!"
"..."
"By the way, do you often watch cartoons like this with Adam Owens?" After a brief pause, Vincent suddenly looked at May, unable to resist asking.
May paused mid-bite from bringing a chip to her lips because of his question: "No, no..."
What’s with this guy? He always gets mad when she mentions Adam Owens, but now he’s asking about him on his own? How is she supposed to answer?
Saying too much would probably get her in trouble again. Hmph, she’s not that dumb to fall for his trap.
Seeing May clearly attempting to dodge the topic, Vincent sincerely told her: "I’ve thought it over. You and Adam Owens have known each other for five years, after all, and he indeed appeared in your life, leaving such a significant mark. I’m wrong to force you not to think about him. From now on, I’ll face this issue sincerely."
"Mmm, mmm, alright, alright..."
Although Vincent spoke earnestly, May remained somewhat skeptical. Their acquaintance time was too short, and she couldn’t quite gauge his temperament, so for safety, she chose to go along with it.
Vincent genuinely wanted to discuss the Adam Owens issue with her; otherwise, he wouldn’t have persistently returned. But May clearly was avoiding him, so how should he break through this barrier?
"Can you tell me how you fell in love with Adam Owens?" With a hint of caution, Vincent earnestly gazed at May’s face as he asked.
May looked up at him, took quite a bit to hem and haw her answer out: "It’s not... that I liked him, exactly? It’s just that when I came from the countryside to the city, my dad wasn’t kind to me, and my stepmom and stepsister didn’t like me much either. Then, then I met Adam Owens, and he was really nice to me. Every time my dad punished me, he would protect me, and then, then..."
A flash of heartache crossed Vincent’s eyes. He held May’s head gently in his embrace, placing a soft kiss on her crown: "I’m aware of some things that happened with the Morgan Family. Don’t worry. You had Adam Owens before; you’ll have me in the future. Remember, you are my woman, and if anyone dares bully you, I’ll make sure they disappear without a trace."
