CHAPTER 38: CHAPTER 38: SAYING I HAVE NO ASSETS

"Got up?" Vincent heard some noise in the bedroom, so he pushed the door open to take a look at her: "I’ve bought breakfast, wash your face before eating."

May rolled her eyes: "I’m not really a pig."

She speechlessly bypassed Vincent and turned to the bathroom to wash her face.

On the sink, there was a set of new toiletries, and toothpaste had been thoughtfully squeezed onto the toothbrush for her.

Feeling a bit touched, she came out of the bathroom, just ready to thank Vincent, when the living room door suddenly opened. Monica walked in carrying large and small bags.

As soon as she entered, Monica started shouting and describing her happy life from last night to May: "May, you don’t know, the guys at Elysian Hall are really something."

May didn’t know what Elysian Hall was, so she couldn’t help but ask, "What’s Elysian Hall?"

"The most famous duck restaurant in the city, you don’t know, the guys there are all as beautiful as flowers, with amazing skills..."

Monica stopped halfway when she saw Vincent staring at her coldly, realizing she’d misspoken. She quickly stuck out her tongue and changed the subject: "Hey, I bought some clothes for you, come over and see if they fit?"

With that, she sorted out several beautifully packaged bags and handed them to May. May was annoyed with her, so she simply threw the bags back at her: "Using my husband’s money to give me a gift? How dare you?"

"Oh come on, what are you saying? Didn’t I give up the room for you two to enjoy yourselves?" Monica shamelessly laughed a bit, thought about the card Vincent gave her, and quickly took it out from her pocket and handed it over with both hands.

"Eldest Master Vance, your wife is upset that I spent your money, hurry up and take it back."

Vincent was very happy with May’s sentence: "my husband," so he generously pushed the card back: "No need, you are a good friend of May, our family will need you to take care of May in the future. Consider this as a small gesture of mine."

This card was unlimited, the type that couldn’t be maxed out no matter how much was spent. Although Monica was greedy, she knew her bounds, so she again handed the card back to Vincent, politely saying, "May is my good friend, treat her well in the future, don’t let her down. I don’t need your money to be happy."

After she finished, she looked at May and laughed: "Besides, I treat money like dirt, I’m embarrassed to accept things that aren’t mine."

"You treat dirt like money, right?" Thinking of her selling out her friend for glory last night, May couldn’t help but mock.

Vincent couldn’t help but smile at their banter. He reached out to pat May’s head, indicating to her: "Eat first, there’s something more important to do later."

The more important thing Vincent mentioned was the wedding dress fitting. Their wedding was in three days, so everything was rushed, rings, dresses needed to be worked on day and night. Even though the time was tight, Vincent didn’t want to skimp.

After all, this was his first and last wedding, he didn’t want to miss out on anything for May.

Upon arriving at LX Bridal, the pre-designed wedding dress had been worked on day and night, though some details still hadn’t been added. This visit was also to check the fit.

May had fantasized about being a bride before, fantasized about what kind of wedding dress to wear. She liked the long, trailing ones adorned with many tiny diamonds, but since this marriage was so rushed, she didn’t have much hope for this dress.

But when she actually saw her wedding dress, she was captivated. It was so beautiful, and completely like the fantasy she had.

She was a bit shocked looking at the dress hanging on the model, the shock in her heart was indescribable.

The designer walked up to Vincent politely and said: "Young Master Vance, this main wedding dress just needs a few more details to be completed, are you satisfied?"

Vincent didn’t speak, but turned to look at May and asked her: "Are you satisfied?"

Of course, May was satisfied; the wedding dress was simply too beautiful. She quickly nodded excitedly, her smile bending her eyes: "Satisfied, satisfied."

Vincent nodded, the pampering light in his eyes grew even stronger.

He turned to the designer and said: "Then work day and night, handle the details well, this dress must be perfect."

The designer quickly nodded and then looked at May: "To ensure the wedding’s quality, could I trouble Miss May to follow me to the makeup room in the back to try on the dress?"

May was more than willing, she joyfully followed the designer and staff to the back makeup room to try on the dress. LX’s fashion designer had not measured May’s height size, yet the dress fitting turned out unexpectedly.

"By the way, none of you measured my size, so how are the dimensions so accurate?" May couldn’t help asking while admiring her gorgeous reflection.

The designer honestly replied: "The size was sent over by Young Master Vance, we weren’t very clear, but he said there’s not much material on you, so simple is the best for the dress design."

Not much material...

May couldn’t help but look down at her indeed somewhat unimpressive chest and sighed helplessly. It’s lack of material, if it weren’t for that Jade Pendant, Vincent probably wouldn’t be interested in her in eight hundred years?

After leaving the makeup room, May had some small emotions, so when she stood in front of Vincent she no longer felt as excited. Vincent noticed she seemed unhappy, thinking the wedding dress wasn’t satisfactory, he gently asked: "What’s wrong, not satisfied with the dress?"

There was nothing wrong with the dress, hearing it’s worth millions, she couldn’t be unsatisfied, right? She was unhappy about Vincent’s comment about her having no material.

"No, it’s just that the dress is so nice, I feel like my figure might not match it well." May looked down and tugged at her wedding dress, tossed out a dry sentence, and turned back to change clothes.

The designer saw this and was about to leave too, but Vincent gestured for her to stay, asking in a deep voice: "What did she say in the makeup room?"

May went back to the makeup room, went to the dressing room to take the wedding dress off, and hadn’t yet changed into her own clothes when suddenly, the dressing room door was pushed open.
