CHAPTER 395: CHAPTER 395: YOU KNOW NOTHING

He tightened his embrace on the girl, kissed her forehead again, then closed his eyes to rest: "Sleep."

"Mm..." May Morgan looked up at him, seeing that he was already asleep, she then nestled her head into his arms and obediently closed her eyes.

She slept straight through until morning.

Victor Grant hadn’t returned home the previous night, staying in his car instead. He stared at Zenith Villa all night, smoking for half of it until his throat was hoarse and he was in a slump. Exhausted, he eventually fell asleep in the car.

Waking from his sleep, he quickly checked the watch on his wrist. It was only half past five, just before sunrise, but he didn’t care because he had promised May Morgan he would return at daybreak.

He hurriedly drove the car to the gate of Zenith Villa and anxiously rang the doorbell.

The guard had just woken up, seeing Victor Grant knock so early, he asked speechlessly, "Mr. Grant, didn’t you sleep last night? Why are you up so early?"

Victor Grant thought to himself what nonsense, my woman is in Vincent Vance’s villa, who knows what happened during the night. It’s a wonder if I slept peacefully.

Vincent Vance got up relatively early. Just as he came downstairs, he saw Victor Grant rushing in through the door.

"You’re here early!" Vincent Vance looked at Victor Grant with his unshaven face, without having even washed, and couldn’t help but mock inwardly.

Victor Grant glared at him, then suddenly fixed his gaze on his legs.

"You’re, your legs are really healed?" Seeing Vincent Vance standing straight in front of him, Victor Grant asked, surprised.

Vincent Vance glanced down at his own legs, recalling how May had bled a lot to heal his legs last night. He suddenly spoke with concern to Victor Grant, "Victor Grant, can you not take May Morgan away?"

Hearing this, Victor Grant’s face immediately darkened: "What do you mean? Vincent Vance, I’m warning you, don’t think that just because you’re healed you can stop my wedding with May Morgan. If I want to mess you up, it’s a matter of minutes."

Vincent Vance didn’t want May Morgan to leave with Victor Grant, thinking that the Dragon Insect’s power within her was already awakened, presenting a constant danger. If Victor Grant insisted on taking her away, no one knew what might happen next.

"Victor Grant, listen to me, the power of the Dragon Insect within May Morgan is awakened, she’s in danger, in case..."

"There’s no ’in case,’ Vincent Vance, May is my woman now, it’s not your concern!" Victor Grant, angry, glared at Vincent Vance, shoved him aside, and was about to go upstairs to get May Morgan.

To his surprise, as he was about to climb the stairs, he saw May Morgan supporting herself on the stairs, walking towards him step by step.

"May, May?" Victor Grant glanced at May Morgan, seeing her face calm, not knowing what she was thinking, he felt nervous inside.

Though taking May away by force was possible, with the wedding imminent, he truly didn’t want any more trouble. If she could leave with him smoothly, it would be ideal.

Besides, a forced union is not sweet, and if May didn’t want to leave with him, taking her away forcibly would only lead to a painful future.

May Morgan descended the stairs, gave Vincent Vance a complex glance, but didn’t speak to him. Instead, she turned to Victor Grant and said, "Victor Grant, shall we go?"

Victor Grant was startled for a moment, then a joyful smile spread on his face: "Sure, sure, my car is outside, come with me."

He stepped forward, hurriedly grasped May Morgan’s hand, and forcibly pulled her past Vincent Vance. As they walked, he deliberately said to her, "My parents called several times last night, I didn’t dare answer. Our wedding is tomorrow, there’s so much to prepare."

May Morgan walked silently with her head down, simply following Victor Grant out. Despite his continuous chatter, she didn’t want to respond, leaving with him because she wanted to fulfill her promise to him, but her heart remained with Vincent Vance.

She knew, at this moment, even Vincent Vance couldn’t save their future.

Just as May Morgan was about to leave Zenith Villa with Victor Grant, Vincent Vance suddenly called after her with deep emotion: "May, wait!"

Upon hearing this, May Morgan stopped abruptly but dared not turn around, and Victor Grant also unconsciously halted seeing her reaction.

Vincent Vance, with a heavy heart, approached them from behind: "Victor Grant, remember, May still has the Dragon Insect inside her, don’t let her get pregnant."

These words, from Vincent Vance as May’s ex-husband to Victor Grant, her current fiancé, seemed delicate and strange, but Vincent Vance didn’t care. If he couldn’t prevent May from leaving, he would at least ensure her safety.

Victor Grant gritted his teeth, impatiently told Vincent Vance, "Nonsense, I know that."

With deep eyes, Vincent Vance looked at Victor Grant, questioning him word by word: "You don’t know, Victor Grant, you know nothing. If you truly love her, you shouldn’t force her to marry you. Have you told your parents that May can’t have children? Can you get past them? If you reach my point, can you abandon your child to ensure May’s life?"

Vincent Vance’s words brought tears to May Morgan’s eyes. She looked up at him, emotionally gripping Victor Grant’s hand: "Stop it, Vincent Vance, that’s all in the past..."

Victor Grant saw May on the verge of tears and reluctantly said to Vincent Vance in defiance, "Vincent Vance, whatever happiness you can give her, I can give her just as much. As for what you can’t, I can give her that too. I’ve already spoken to my parents about her inability to have children. How do you know I haven’t fought for her? I’ve never knelt to anyone in my life, but to marry her, I’d rather kneel to my parents to preserve this marriage. Vincent Vance, don’t think you’re the only one treating her well, my feelings for May Morgan are not less than yours!"

With those words, Victor Grant dragged May Morgan’s hand and led her out of Zenith Villa.

When he put May Morgan into his car, seeing her tear-stained face and low spirits, his frustration was beyond words.

"Can you stop crying?" Victor Grant, unable to vent at May Morgan, quickly turned and grabbed some tissues, roughly wiping away her tears.

May Morgan snatched the tissues from his hand, complaining, "Can’t you be gentler?"

Victor Grant disliked seeing May Morgan cry for Vincent Vance, as it showed her heart wasn’t fully with him yet.

"I’ve been more than good to you, you don’t know, last night when you stayed at Zenith Villa, I didn’t return home either, waiting for you all night in the car."

Victor Grant sighed helplessly, closed the car door, but hesitated before driving off.
