Young Master Vance Has An Enchanting Wife
Chapter 4: Did I Allow You to Leave?
CHAPTER 4: CHAPTER 4: DID I ALLOW YOU TO LEAVE?
After finishing his words, Mason Morgan looked as if he had been granted a great pardon, didn’t even glance at May Morgan, turned around, and rushed towards the door, as if afraid Vincent Vance would change his mind.
May watched her father flee and urgently lifted her leg, wanting to sneak away too.
"There’s a bathroom upstairs, go take a shower first." Vincent suddenly instructed, pointing towards his bedroom upstairs.
May’s body stiffened, and she quickly pleaded with Vincent, "Well, brother-in-law, since my father has left, can I leave too?"
"Sure, hand over the Jade Pendant." Vincent leisurely crossed his long legs and slowly extended his hand, asking for the pendant from May.
May looked down at his hands, which were even more beautiful than a pianist’s, bit her lip, and stayed silent.
The pendant was given to her by her mother on her deathbed, who repeatedly warned her not to show it casually or lose it, otherwise, it would be life-threatening. How could she possibly hand it over easily?
"Well, I lost the pendant..." May said, blushing, looking down and twiddling her fingers, lying to Vincent.
Vincent could instantly tell she was lying, but he wasn’t in a hurry; he just laughed coldly, "Fine, find it, and only then will I let you leave."
What? This was an infringement of her rights, right? Who gave him the right?
"I... I gave the pendant to Adam Owens, can I go out and get it back for you?" Knowing that Vincent would not give up easily, May quickly used Adam Owens as a shield.
Adam is the only son of the Owens Family. Vincent’s aunt married Adam’s father as a second wife, making her Adam’s stepmother. This relationship alone made Vincent hesitant to easily trouble Adam.
May mentioned Adam because she and Adam had been together for five years. Even if Vincent bothered Adam, Adam would definitely side with her.
Vincent raised his head to look at May, a complex glint in his eyes. He was aware of May’s relationship with Adam but didn’t believe she would give away something so important.
Even the cunning Mason Morgan and Melanie Morgan couldn’t find May’s pendant; how could she casually give it to Adam?
"Since it’s with Adam, I’ll send someone to retrieve it tomorrow," Vincent lifted his long legs, surprisingly stood up from the sofa, and started walking towards the bedroom.
May, looking embarrassed at his charmingly handsome back, hesitantly asked, "So what about me?"
Vincent turned around to glance at her and said in a calm tone, "Come upstairs with me to rest."
Rest? Upstairs?
"Um, brother-in-law, I won’t leave tonight, but could you prepare a guest room for me?" May knew she wouldn’t escape tonight, so she pleaded reluctantly.
However, Vincent seemed not to hear her, continuing upstairs without stopping.
Watching him gradually disappear at the landing of the stairs, May sighed helplessly, realizing that tonight would inevitably be a sleepless night.
How unlucky, why did she sneak around to spy on Melanie’s affairs, causing herself all this trouble?
Shortly after, a servant came downstairs to invite May up: "Miss Morgan, the Young Master invites you to go upstairs to rest."
May nodded helplessly, knowing she couldn’t escape tonight, and awkwardly followed the servant to the second floor.
Reaching the second floor, the servant stopped in front of a very large bedroom: "Miss Morgan, please."
Curious, May peeked inside. The room was lavishly and exquisitely decorated, evidently the master bedroom. Master bedroom? That’s Vincent’s own bedroom!
