Young Master Vance Has An Enchanting Wife
Chapter 439: Jumping Out of the Car
CHAPTER 439: CHAPTER 439: JUMPING OUT OF THE CAR
But the most unfortunate ones were those vehicles on the outside, because everyone had moved inside the perimeter, leaving the cars outside; the vines started curling up as soon as they spotted the cars, and then hurled them to the ground, causing numerous casualties among the people inside.
The marauding vines spread rapidly and reached Heather Holt’s RV within minutes. The driver was petrified by the terrifying scene, and with the massive thing about to coil around the front of the vehicle, was too scared to even remember to drive.
Seeing his mother’s vehicle about to be attacked, Victor Grant quickly rushed over, pulled down the terrified driver, dragged him out, then jumped into the driver’s seat himself, reversely with calm precision, and drove desperately towards the perimeter.
Heather Holt was dumbfounded inside the car for quite a while before she snapped out of it. Holding the still-unconscious May Morgan tightly, she said to the driving Victor Grant, "Victor, what’s going on? Why is something like this happening? What are those things?"
Victor Grant couldn’t explain to her for the time being because he had to concentrate on reversing to leave, so he briefly brushed her off by saying, "Mom, don’t worry, just protect May Morgan. I’ll make sure to get you both out of here safely."
At this moment, it’s clear Victor Grant’s experience shines. If it were any other man in the face of such terrifying things, they would have been as petrified as the driver.
But Victor Grant, with exceptional composure, reversed, accelerated, and searched for any gaps to rush through, driving the exceptionally heavy RV out of the danger zone as quickly as possible.
Once the vehicle hit the road, Victor Grant continued to press the gas pedal hard while explaining to Heather Holt, "Mom, what you just saw was a poisonous insect. I’ve mentioned it to you before; it’s a type of those insects. I can’t explain it clearly now, but remember, as long as I have breath in me, I will protect both you and May Morgan and ensure you won’t be harmed in the slightest."
Heather Holt glanced down at May Morgan and suddenly feeling a bit sad, she asked him, "Victor, be honest with me, did you have someone plant those insects?"
Victor Grant didn’t expect his mother to suddenly ask that, and he tightly gripped the steering wheel in nervousness. Just as he was about to explain, Heather Holt sternly said to him, "Victor, if you really did it, then drive back. Vincent Vance is still there, right? If you kill Vincent Vance, do you think May Morgan will forgive you?"
Victor Grant was silent for a moment before stubbornly replying to his mother, "I’ve never expected her to forgive me. At this point, it’s either Vincent Vance dies or I do. Mom, don’t try to persuade me; I’m not going back. I can’t deal with those poisonous insects, so why go back? To die? Besides, both you and May are still on this vehicle; I won’t return, and you shouldn’t expect it either."
"But Victor, you shouldn’t do this; what if something happens to May Morgan..." Heather Holt, a gentle and kind person, couldn’t bear watching her son commit such violence nor witness him and May Morgan inch towards an irreparable situation.
But Victor Grant’s nature was excessively fierce and stubborn; once he decided on something, no one could persuade him otherwise.
"Don’t say anymore. I’m not driving back there. It’s best if Vincent Vance dies; if he doesn’t, sooner or later, there will be a life-or-death showdown between us. The fact is, it’s either him or me!"
Victor Grant’s words were extremely harsh, serving as a resolute answer to Heather Holt. Seeing that she couldn’t persuade him, Heather Holt could only sigh helplessly, lowering her gaze to May Morgan.
And just at that moment, May Morgan slowly opened her eyes, glancing at her.
"May Morgan, you’re awake?" Heather Holt was overjoyed to see May Morgan awake, quickly helping her up from the seat.
May Morgan merely blinked in confusion before turning to yell at Victor Grant, "Victor Grant, drive the car back!"
Victor Grant’s face stiffened in defiance, saying, "Don’t even think about it; I won’t let you go back there to die."
"Whether I live or die is none of your concern. Drive back!" Victor Grant’s attitude enraged May Morgan, causing her to crawl over frantically, trying to grab the steering wheel to force him to stop the car.
Victor Grant drove very fast, matching highway speeds. If he forcibly stopped now, the consequences would be unimaginable.
"What are you doing? Didn’t you see my mom is still in the car?"
Victor Grant shouted angrily at May Morgan as she attempted to block his grip on the steering wheel.
After Victor Grant shouted at her fiercely, May Morgan calmed down slightly, turned her head to see a distraught Heather Holt, who was too shocked to know what to say. Suddenly, she started crying in despair, "Auntie, please make Victor drive back; I can’t watch Vincent Vance die at Logan Vance’s hands."
"Alright, alright, Victor, just stop the car, let’s discuss this peacefully, okay?" Seeing May Morgan in tears, Heather Holt couldn’t bear it and pleaded with Victor Grant.
Victor Grant was about to refuse, but on second thought, he suddenly smiled and tried to scare May Morgan, "Do you know how long you’ve been out here? Let me tell you, it’s been over ten minutes now; even if you go back now, Vincent Vance’s remains are likely already gone!"
Having been frightened like that, May Morgan cried more fiercely. She bit her lip, defiantly saying, "Even if he’s dead, I want to be buried with him!"
Victor Grant most disliked hearing her say such things; she was his wife, so why should she be buried with that bastard Vincent Vance?
"I’m not going back; if you have the guts, fly back there yourself!" Victor Grant carelessly retorted, unwilling to reason with May Morgan.
Seeing his stubbornness, May Morgan couldn’t help but look at him in disappointment. Then, while everyone was unprepared, she abruptly pulled open the RV’s door, preparing to jump down.
"May Morgan, are you crazy?" Heather Holt screamed as she saw May Morgan about to jump off the speeding vehicle, swiftly pulling her back forcefully.
Victor Grant was infuriated by May Morgan’s foolishness, and with the door suddenly opened, he had no choice but to pull the car over to the side.
"Do you have a death wish or something? Do you realize how fast this car is going? If you jump, you’re dead or crippled; do you understand?"
After stepping down from the driver’s seat, Victor Grant shouted furiously at May Morgan inside the car. He had never yelled at May Morgan like this before, indicating how much she had pushed him this time.
May Morgan ignored him, pushing him away from the front of the car door, stubbornly exiting the vehicle and turning to walk back.
Driven to the brink of fury, Victor Grant kicked the door of the car, directly denting it, and the helpless Heather Holt inside saw this wasn’t a good solution either, so she softly advised Victor Grant, "Victor, you know May Morgan’s temperament; why not drive her back?"
